That ain't our GameStop Lady / Ma'am, though. The actress playing Abby needs to be stronger looking. Abby was built like an ox in the game, and could punch her way through anyone who was a threat. π±ββοΈ πͺ Of course, Bella has to be able to eventually topple her. So they clearly just got an actress that's not all beefy. π€€

I never got into this fighting game series. π

1. Remakes. To be honest, I just don't particularly like how they play, look, sound, etc. The graphics are so dark and the zombies are bullet sponges. Your guns didn't feel very impactful in the modern remakes, while a shotgun blast in the original games could certainly be felt. π§ββοΈ π§ββοΈ I'm actually quite tired of Capcom going back to 1998, etc. This also applies to the slew of awful side media they've been cranking out for like decades by this point. Whether that's spin off games, or the movies directed by Paul Anderson. Raccoon City gets revisited way too much. Code: Veronica is actually one game that doesn't feel as appreciated as it ought to be in the fanbase. Even if Alfred Ashford was a nutty Norman Bates like character, the game was atmospheric and it still sort of felt like RE, despite the setting. And it had the same type of gameplay as the others, except it was on the Dreamcast. π° 2. Ethan Winters. No face. No reflection in a mirror. LOL. He is a lot like a Harry Mason type lead, which I do welcome in horror games, I suppose. Because using the same veterans means that they are too beefed up and used to fighting the creatures made by Umbrella, and whoever else may be involved. But at least give him a face. His daughter grows up being protected by the authorities and her arc seems suspiciously like that of Heather Mason, in that a cult had followed her, and she is like an outcast because of who she is. She has these interesting powers, but prefers to live a normal life. π±ββοΈ The spooky mannequins felt like they jumped ship from the Silent Hill universe, at least. LMAO. You're such copy cats over at Capcom. https://www.pushsquare.com/guides/resident-evil-village-how-to-solve-the-doll-workshop-mannequin-puzzle 3. Too much gray canon. Some stuff is canon legitimately, but some things are just reworkings. Like the Netflix series and the Wii gun games. 4. "Redfield". Not my Chris. Sorry. π #BlueUmbrella He looks nothing like he did in RE5. π 5. Story is convoluted. This should really be at No. 1, hands down. Because the plot of the games today is absurd and really has no correlation to the PS1 era RE games, despite all the shoehorned in references or the addition of Chris in RE7, and whatnot. The plot is very incoherent. Capcom bounces around a lot and usually has things left unresolved. And there's a lot of characters who seem to have unfinished business in the franchise, such as Billy Coen. But Capcom insists on only having them appear in retellings. And meh. I hate that. 6. Jill has the same outfit after X amount of years. While it was great to see her back in a new iteration, even if it was just in an animated movie, she looks way too much like she did in the remake of RE3, which was a huge flop during the lockdown. That's just laziness to have her wearing the same sort of clothes, when she looked different in RE5 and so on.ππ 7. What are ya buying? Sorry, but having salesmen selling you John Rambo's arsenal out in the wilderness is just stupid. The whole point of survival horror games is that you find whatever resources you can, to be, well... resourceful with them. However, being able to trade for weaponry is just a very dumb, un-horror-like thing to put into this franchise. π€ 8. Lady D. One of the main reasons RE is so dumb, is the fairytale type crap RE8 consists of. The fight with Heisenberg is also silly. π€ To the simps, who love this ho. π° Try Tinder. That is all. πͺ π 9. Lack of music. Newer RE games often have periods where it's silent, when you recall games like the original RE2 had eerie music in the police station. Even when you can buy the OG's soundtrack, it hardly plays and doesn't especially match the mood of the remake. At least in my opinion. 10. Too much action. That's what 95% of RE4, 5 and 6 consists of. I think Revelations 2 is incredibly underrated, but is a good example of a game with action and stealth. Barry was awesome in that game as well, plus I liked the storyline with Alex Wesker and her experiments. The game had action, but it also had creepy moments and felt suspenseful, and the references to the older games were nice. π¬ Yeah, it was a clone of The Last of Us in a lot of ways, but I never felt disappointed in general. Anyway, since I am not planning on making any more RE threads online, consider this my swan song for the series. I will maybe still reply when it comes to news on RE9 or something. But for posting more threads, nah. Everything I wanted to say has been said. π

Wow. It really has been 6 years. Absolutely adored this game in 2019. I actually thought it was better than any Resident Evil game of the 2010s era, in terms of everything about it such as the story, graphics, and so on. And the same for The Last of Us. π I thought the gameplay was kind of jarring. It was good to play, but I did find myself feeling like I was having my arse kicked a lot by bears and campers. LOL. Sometimes I would just have defeated a gang of marauders on a road, just for some wild animal such as a cougar or wolf to suddenly charge at me. π π» πΊ Some of the missions got repetitive, and the slave labour like stuff could get annoying. Like why radio my ass when I only just seen you like, 10 seconds ago? Find someone else. π€ͺ But all in all, this game was massive and it had its ups and downs. I had loads of things to do before I even went to the other region at the lake. Then there was so much to do there as well. So yeah. I never once felt that Bend Studio hadn't earned my money. But I do recall there was an insane amount of game breaking issues when it was released. The game was huge and full of intense, occasionally funny and often suspenseful moments. Yet people never really talk about this game. They would rather cheer for Capcom's half baked RE remakes and stuff. Sigh. Not that I'm universally hating on Capcom. They do still make decent games. But I do feel like RE has been milked all the way to the moon and back. When Bend Studio really put their soul into producing this, that feels pretty sad. But as always... you know it is what it is. Oh, and this scene really makes us want a sequel.

Can anybody recommend me good suspenceful horror films on Netflix, that may be in the vein of Disturbia or Wrong Turn? I particularly enjoy ones about people acting odd next door, which invokes suspicion in someone. Or ones where people get lost in some rural spot with cannibals in pursuit, or whatever, are always good to watch. The haunted house type films are good too, but many of them are a slog. But I find I just get bored quickly if they fail to hook me in.

This is a really nippy part of Silent Hill: The Short Message. Sakura Head is breathing down your neck, but you have to pick up all the memos. It needs patched though, to include a 'New Game' option.

If Neil keeps saying a third game is not happening, he is telling you that because it is indeed in production. According to some leaker, at least. Neil would rather just focus on his other Naughty Dog project first. https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/the-last-of-us-part-3-casting-rumor-filming-ps5/

I hope we get Silent Hill: Townfall news soon. Konami is definitely going to have future transmissions to cover the series.

I actually noticed years ago that RE8 was sort of copying the SH series. The house over the bridge looks a lot like the P.T. house. Then the plot with Ethan and Rosemary Winters was very similar to the cult thing that had gone on with Harry and Heather Mason, with Rosemary saying she is hated by other teenagers because of her past or powers, or whatever it was. And it's easy to compare Miranda to Claudia Wolf, or Dahlia from before. And this part with the mannequins, too... That's all very Silent Hill like to me. But this is very peculiar for the Resident Evil series. Seeing as how RE ain't really meant to be presenting itself like a supernatural tale, this does seem like they were just trying to rip off Konami. π€£

The [new] Silent Hill games don't have nurses anymore. But I swear. When games stop having shades of what they were founded upon, it just doesn't feel right. But maybe the health drinks will still be included. It's like when the Resident Evil games stopped having zombies. You could see it was moving into corny territory with the sh*t Capcom eventually chucked in. But even so, RE has somehow lasted this long as a franchise, with people praising the games highly to keep it atop the mountain. But I still fail to see what this game (a mainline game too, supposedly) has to do with 'Silent Hill' itself. So maybe call it by a different name then. π Seeing as how it is not even set in Silent Hill, the game is just part of a shared universe, because Konami wants it that way. π€€

They hinted that it means find. But I couldn't help but think that the game has little in common with past entries. π With how they were talking about the ideas and so on and so forth, it was like the whole time, they just wanted to remind you of the essence being intact. Although to me, it felt like they were making a confession to sway away from saying, "This ain't truly a Silent Hill game. But we will feed you dialogue to say otherwise". Like, "Hey. It may feel like you are in Silent Hill, as the atmosphere is all there and blah, blah. It is, however, set in Japan as opposed to the United States. So fans will obviously ask questions. We hope nonetheless, you will enjoy it". It's just like Capcom and RE all over again. Putting the name there to market a game that looks and feels unaffiliated with what has occurred. But hell. The game seems interesting in its own right, even if the correlation to the older titles isn't really there at all, from what I can observe on my own. And bugger off, typos. π

We've had quite a wait for any update since the fall of 2022. But finally. It will all go down tonight. Do you think "f" is linked to "The Short Message", due to the flower monster in the original trailer being similar to Sakura Head from the game, that we received in January of last year as a free download? To clarify...
-
This may sound unpopular, but I have more faith now in Bloober Team for Silent Hill projects than Capcom does with their RE games, and not just remakes. I just mean as a whole. RE has been going downhill for ages. But whatever. I don't feel like bashing Capcom, except I will say this... RE8 was really dumb. It was like RE4 meets Dracula meets, a bunch of other stuff.
-
It's really all about the game... and how you play it. π Why are so many new titles being introduced? It's going to lead to oversaturation. https://www.wrestlezone.com/news/1542794-triple-h-introduces-mens-and-womens-wwe-id-championships
