ISPs appear to become very aggressive when it comes to getting new customers. We've been with a certain ISP for 4 years in our flat now and today someone from a different ISP just came to our door with the following agenda: "I will activate fibre optic internet today so you will have insane internet speeds; I can show you the connection. I'm also surprised that your landlord didn't notify you about the fibre optics." (he was ready to enter our flat but I didn't move from the door; I could see that my flatmate was a little "scared"; she talked with him for about 15 seconds before I joined the scene) My response: "We already are with an ISP and don't want to change." "I have a contract here, so you can switch over to us and benefit from high speed internet; it's also cheaper." (I've already checked prices with their service a couple of months ago and it's 5€ more per month, but I have to admit that internet would be much faster; however, we don't want to change because we have no need for that; anyway, impressive how quickly he changed from "activating something" to "let me sell you stuff") "Well, as I said, we're already with an ISP and do not want to change." "So, you want to stay with that slow ass internet?" (seriously, he basically said the German equivalent to "slow ass internet".) "Yes. "Alright, bye." (he was annoyed, or rather pissed, and immediately walked up the stairs, probably ready to try this with the other residents) Been searching the web now and it looks like this has been going on for quite some time. Two possibilities: that guy wasn't an employee at the ISP he was pretending to be working for or he really was and wanted to gain new customers to earn commission (is this the right word? making a sale and getting a cut?) In any case...what an asshole, and what a dick move from the company if they really employ those shady tactics. I can see a lot of older people getting tricked...

Same. Did you read the newest chapter (i.e. 72), as well? Looks like it got released today, well the translated version that is. -
Hm, yeah. With the VAR this is how it should be done. I think Meyer was right with his idea back then, though.
-
Hans Meyer, former player and coach for several German teams, once said in an interview (loosely translated): We have so many cameras that cover so many angles, why don't we use them? Here's a proposition: If a dive hasn't been seen during a game but can be proved after a game with replays, penalize the player. Suspend him for the next game. I guarantee you: After the next 3 or 4 weeks we'd never see dives again, if this rule was enforced." It's a drastic proposition (he said this 6 or 7 years ago, if I remember correctly) but I agree. This is something I still want to see. Penalize a player after a game. Even if he got a yellow card during the game...if his action warrants a red card he should receive one. Anyway, VAR are a step in the right direction. With a few more improvements it will be an even better addition to Football than it already is.

This season VAR has been introduced to Bundesliga. Most fans that I've been talking to and most people in the stadiums (as far as you can tell from their reactions) are against it. They think it takes away emotions, stops the flow, doesn't make the game fairer, etc. Here are some stats from the first half of the season (I could give you the source, but it's in German; just believe me ): approx. 1000 decisions have been reviewed in the first 153 matches of the season; about 7 reviews per match on average all 424 goals have been reviewed 50 corrections have been made 19 penalties that have been given subsequently 11 penalties have been taken back red cards given: 5 red cards taken back: 1 yellow cards given: 3 goals taken back: 11 not included are the decisions that have confirmed the official's decision there still have been 23 wrong decisions (goals, sending-offs, penalties) BUT that is a huge improvement over the past five seasons: in each of those there have been 52 wrong decisions on average per first half of the season There is absolutely NO denying that the game has become fairer. I disagree that VAR takes away emotions from situations...to be honest, it's kind of suspenseful to wait for the decision. And players still celebrate after goals that have been given later. And to be honest: I like how VAR's decisions remove the stupid complaining by (some) players...they know they fucked up and why they get penalized. I do think, however, that it should be more transparent to the people in the stadium; after a decision made by the VAR, why not show replays on screen? Most stadiums in the big leagues have one (at least in Germany).

Oh, that sucks. Hope Ashihara will get better soon. And not because I want the manga to return. There are more important things than that. Noted. Soooo much to read Just finished The Promised Neverland's first arc. Holy fuck, that was awesome. Instantly one of my favourite mangas. I should go to sleep...but I want to keep reading -

You're in for a treat. I've read 32 chapters today...39 still left until I've caught up. After that I'll get back to World Trigger, which I can recommend, as well. -

One Piece is getting stale. I decided to give The Promised Neverland a go. It seems like Attack on Titan on a smaller scale and without the bloodshed. I love it. Edit: Can't put it down. @Kav and everybody else...give it a try. -
It's about Armello again. Managed to win a couple of games against the AI. Sadly the active playerbase on PS4 is apparently almost non-existent. You need 4 players and I was only able to find 3 during matchmaking once...but one dropped out before the game started Anyway, the AI is not bad. They do make some silly mistakes form time to time, though. Need to win with two more win conditions and then I've won with all four conditions Well...looks like no one here is interested in this game so I'll stop posting about it Edit: Played a match against other people. I ended up in the last place...I played horribly and wasn't very lucky. I did, however, help another player win during the last turn. If I hadn't helped him a different player would've won. But that dude was sooooo god damn lucky I couldn't let him take first place
-
I wish I could draw. No idea how to start, though. Anyway, I love your illustrations. Keep 'em coming.
-
If anyone's interested: Armello is pretty good. As with most tabletop games (at least from my experiences) there's quite a bit of chance involved (what with dice rolls and drawing cards) which may be a turn off for others. I like that, because it forces you to adapt and chance plans when things go wrong. Sometimes it can fuck you up forever, though, which is annoying Anyway, I've only played against the AI and haven't won a game, yet. Still getting used to the mechanics. It's a shame that none of my gaming mates will buy it because it's not their cup of tea. Might have to resort to playing randoms online...if there's an active playerbase.

Haven't done a 96 run in ages...never actually tried it as a speed-run either. And to be honest, I've never really tried any speed-run techniques for a Bowser run. Never looked them up I just try to be as quick as possible. Last time I did it was a year ago, drunk in under 20 minutes. A mate wanted me to prove it because I kept telling him I can do it
-
How much will it cost?
-
Just bought Armello. Always wanted to get it but I somehow forgot about it Anyway, it's on sale for 6€ now (instead of 20€) and I had some money to spare on my account so I just went for it. From the Steam page: Sounds like a game I'd enjoy, but I've never really been sure about that. That's the reason why I didn't want to pay the full price when the game was released. But for the discounted price I'm happy to take the chance. Will give this a go tomorrow and might post some impressions.

I think I wanted to write "together". It simply should've been "we need to drink together" but Tigerhersteller decided to appear. Is that really a thing you get?
-
Tigerhersteller translated translates to "tiger manufacturer".
-
@martinist @Nolan @Glen-i we need to Drink Tigerhersteller together. I hatte Auto correct. All of you should come to Germany
-
Lara is pretty. Will watch.

Been working my way through Keira's quest line but I keep getting sucked into Gwent matches.

When I glance over some words I involuntarily pick up quite a lot of the information. And no, I will not stop looking at the right side of the main board because 99% of that I'd like to read Ah well...if there's nothing to do about I just have to live with it.
-
Well, the price includes software. But from what I've seen that software basically looks like good old shovelware from the Wii era, so maybe worth $30-40. However, that means the $40-50 for cardboard? That is outrageous. But a genius move by Nintendo to put their brand on something that can be produced for a few bucks (I assume) and sell it for a stupidly high price which parents are definitely going to pay for their crying little shits. (for the record, I don't have anything against kids). Gotta give it to 'em, they know their market.
-
Is it possible to not have posts from ignored users shown on the right side of the main board? Kinda stupid if they appear there and you inadvertently glance over them, reading some of them in the process.

Heck of a storm going over our city right now (well, not only our city, the whole federal state). These gusts of wind are scary... The way to and from work was quite dangerous. I avoided places with lots of trees but there was still plenty of stuff flying around. I'm not leaving my flat again today.
