I'm so glad I moved away from the trophy hunt. That helped me finish more games than I would've this year. Haven't been playing as much as in previous years for whatever reason so not caring about trophies has been great. @Hero-of-Time how many Platinums did you already get this year?

Yeah, it was a matter of the moneys. But i was able to sell The Outer Worlds for 37€ (meaning, I technically only paid 11€ for it ) so I can afford Death Stranding earlier. It's been an hour since your post. I expect you are level 20 now?

The Outer Worlds I've completed about 40 side quests/tasks, explored the worlds quite thoroughly and finished the story just now. I'm very happy the game "only" took me 23 hours to beat. As I mentioned earlier, other games like Skyrim or Fallout tend to overstay their welcome if you're not up for the task. The Outer Worlds struck a pretty good balance. I've talked about some issues with the game but overall it's been a very entertaining and enjoyable experience. Highly recommended. Will I play the game again on "Supernova" difficulty? To be honest, I really wanted to but I've read that the survival mechanics that it adds are more tedious than difficult. So unless the devs put some work into it I'll probably just stay clear of it. Well...now I'll have to think about whether to buy Death Stranding on Friday. And I think I know what to do

Just finished season 3 of Mr. Robot. Unbelievably good. I've just learned that the 4th season is currently airing with 5 episodes already out. Good times we live in.

Cannot fucking wait for this. Adam Sandler is one of my favourite actors. I absolutely love his older comedies (Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, The Waterboy, Anger Management, The Longest Yard) but I've grown tired of his newer "funny" stuff. However, what I admire is his capability to portray other characters. Reign Over Me is one of my all time favourite dramas and Adam Sandler is masterful in this. Everytime I see his monologue (you know what I'm talking about if you've seen the movie) I burst into tears. Uncut Gems seems to be a different kind of drama, but from the looks of the trailer it might be another movie with Adam Sandler at his best.

19 hours now. I've only done 4 or 5 main quests so yeah, par the for course I'd say I'm enjoying it quite a lot. It's not perfect but very entertaining. Made me laugh out loud several times now. One thing that's a little annoying: Travelling to places you've already explored because a quest makes you do so. Why is that annoying? Because of this very inelegant means of travel: Accept quest - enter your ship - loading screen - set destination - exit ship - loading screen - usually fast travel to a place closest to the quest - loading screen. Now, the loading is relatively quick, but it's still a little irritating looking at a loading screen this much. Not a huge deal in the grand scheme of the game, though. What is, however, a huge deal: The game/combat is way too easy. I'm never really in any trouble except for when a huge fight breaks out after a conversation and the entire room of enemies gangs up on me. Also, I'm apparently 3 levels away from the level cap. So there won't be any point in taking out enemies once I'm maxed out, especially since the loot they give hasn't been of use to me for 15 hours. Really hope an increased level cap is in the works. But the devs have been completely silent since the release, so there's no way of knowing what they're working on. I'm quite sad that Obsidian is now owned by Microsoft so PS4/5 won't see an inevitable sequel or any other games from the devs I sure hope that The Outer Worlds will get some expansions in a couple months.

First of all...no, I will not give a fuck about that baby. I will not worry about it. I hate when babies cry. It's fucking annoying. It's the main reason why I HATE Yoshi's Island. FUCK YOU, BABY MARIO. Ok, let's eat the baby. Ehem...Secondly, I'm a bit worried that I haven't seen any guns. I wouldn't enjoy taking out those Mule bases with the strand every single time. Sometimes I like to go in guns blazing, somtimes I want to pick off every enemy with a sniper rifle. Not a huge issue, but if there aren't different weapons in Death Stranding I'll have to take away some points in the end But yes, the footage I've seen makes me want to play the game right now. However, I might not be able to play it until December

I've always adored Shinkawas artwork.

The Decima engine is a thing of beauty.

That has to be one of the best reviews I've ever seen. Is he always this good at reviews? This is pretty much the attiutde I wish everyone had with this game. Death Stranding seems to beunique and with people complaining about how the gaming industry is becoming more of the same people should definitely try it out. Oh, really? Never would've guessed I'm looking forward to your impression.

Thank god, it is. People tend to hate on Kojima (and I get some of the reasons) but there is no denying that he keeps trying to push boundaries. He wants to take video games to the next (or "another") level. And from what I've read, Death Stranding is another successful attempt.

Been reading Christopher Hitchens' god is not great. Such a great read. Ordered these for when I'm finished with it:

The Outer Worlds, man. Travelled to one of the next areas and spent 3 hours just talking to people and doing some side quests. The writing is exceptional and very engaging. I'm trying to be mostly a good guy but occasionally I tend to just fuck people up if I don't like 'em Looking at the Navigational Map, it doesn't seem like there are a lot of planets to explore, i.e. the game probably won't last for 100+ hours. And that's good. Games like Skyrim and Fallout tend to overstay their welcome if you do everything. Sometimes it's nice to do that but right now I just want to experience a game like this for 40-50 hours while doing most quests. Because I'm a moron, I bought the three classic Doom games on PS4. Never played them before. Played two levels of the first one just to see what the fuss is about. It's exactly what I expected: Mindless shooting

PlayStation.blog Nioh is amazing. Already have it, though. Outlast 2 I will not touch with a stick because horror games are not for me.

I hope so. If only as a big "FUCK YOU" to Konami I'm hyped as all hell. Probably won't be able to play it on launch weekend, though

You don't have to wait long. Embargo lifts on Friday.

Ah yes. Knack 3, baaabbyyyy!! Another mastahpiece on the way.

Is Kojima Productions a 1st party studio? Always thought it's independent, only with some support from Sony.
-
Impressive numbers by Sony. I don't think they'll struggle very much with the PS5 unless they royally fork up the price.

Woke up way too early this morning and couldn't go back to sleep so I decided to get back to The Outer Worlds. After now 5 hours of playtime I'm ready to leave the first area. Wonderful game. Writing is hilarious at times, choices are in a moral grey area, combat is fun (especially now that I'm utilizing more damage types), the RPG elements are cool (Í usually don't go for dialog options, but I had to do it with this one) and it's just pure fun Can't wait to get back from work and start sneaking my way through the next town and steal ALL THE THINGS.

Hm, makes sense. While I still don't agree with the wording of "rewriting history", you do have a point. As do the people disliking the mission and its protrayal of events/bad guys.
