  1. I've decided to not go for the Platinum. Even with the structures you can build to reduce the time from 150h to about 80h I simply can't do it these days. It's not the game's fault, though. I love Death Stranding. I just can't do the grind right now. And since I'll most likely buy Civilization VI tomorrow, finishing Death Stranding and then selling it will only help my finances @Hero-of-Time Keep me updated on what you think about that lovey-dovey couple (that is, if you read all emails you receive) Pretty much my thoughts exactly. And it only gets weirder Still on episode 8 and I need to deliver a very dangerous package. And because I'm a moron I decided to run down a mountain. Didn't see a cliff coming up and needless to say...that very dangerous package literally blew up my progress Anyway, the various (main) characters you meet are extraordinary. Their design is incredible, they are protrayed by great actors and it's just a joy to see them (usually ). Indeed. He apparently wants to make a movie in the near future. Can't wait. Unless, of course, it's a horror movie...
  2. This is out tomorrow and I am quite tempted. Still irks me how they're selling an expansion pack for 40€ on release day...I might get the "vanilla" version on release and get the expansion later on when it's on sale.
  3. Reached episode 8. Whenever I think I have an answer to one of the 8 billion questions regarding the plot, the game throws even more questions at me I have decided to go back to the first area and do some standard orders for now. It's awesome to see how the region changed. So many structures that make traversal much easier.
  4. 7 Haven't done any side missions for quite a while because I reeeeeaaaally want to know where the story is going. That's where I'm at and I've maybe done 20-30 side missions so far I might actually go back to the first area once I'm done with the current chapter. But maybe not, depending on how the plot will develop.
  5. I am not emotionally equipped to listen to more songs by Low Roar. Anyways, going to take a break because it looks like I've reached a chapter that I need to play when it's bright outside and not scary and dark
  6. My Slay the Spire Ascension continues. Managed to beat Ascension 3 (i.e. more Elites, deadlier Elites and deadlier normal enemies) with The Ironclad and The Silent. I struggle a lot with the latter. It's such a difficult character to build your deck with, in my opinion. But once it clicks for that run it's beautiful. Now on to Ascension 3 with The Defect and then it's only 16 more difficulties with each character to go.
  7. Not if it's raining.
  8. Mr. Robot, season 4, episode 7. Unbelievably good. I'm still shaken. Edit: Seriously...this was one of the finest hours of television. Objectively, even.
  9. Finally had some time for Death Stranding again. I only managed to complete one story mission, though. It did, however, take me quite some time as it was a very long delivery. Can't wait to see where the story will go from now. It's even more intriguing now. If everything goes well, I'll have some more time to play today
  10. Haven't had as much time to play Death Stranding as I wanted these days. It's a game I need to have 2-3 hour long sessions with. I did, however, start up Slay the Spire again several times. It's a good time "waster" when you only have an hour to play each day Watched a video that overexplains a run with The Ironclad and it helped me immensely to understand how to approach the deck building aspect of the game. I struggled with Ascension 2 (one of the higher difficulties that makes normal enemies much more dangerous) for a while but my first run after watching that video was a win Next up: Ascension 2 with The Silent. Time for another overexplain-video
  11. Showing a friend Death Stranding while drunk out of your mind is not a good idea. Unsurprisingly, inebriation translates quite well into the game's movement mechanics
  12. Higgs has such a cool design. And Troy Baker is nailing the performance. All characters are designed brilliantly. They all share a certain theme, yet are still very unique. The entire asthetic of the game (scenery, UI, technology, characters, audio) is masterfully crafted. You may not like Kojima but you can't deny he's a master at creating distinctive worlds. And we should, of course, also mention the developers and artists bringing Kojima's vision to life. Indeed But it's all so intriguing. Especially the scenes with Mads Mikkelsen. I decided to progress the story and not dabble with the side quests because I just want to know what's going on. Looks like I'll have to do all the side missions after I finished the story I do have a theory regarding one character, which isn't particularly "out there" since one word has been used a couple of times now and there's a scene that's a little "in your face" with a certain piece of information. I won't even mention it in a spoiler tag, because if I talk about that theory I'd be revealing something that should be experienced without any prior knowledge.
  13. Man, some of Low Roar's songs hit hard... Just now, on the final meters to my destination a song played and the moment was a little too much. I'm not ashamed to admit that I shed a few tears. It was not because of what happened in the game, it was just the lyrics and the feeling of loneliness evoked by the ruins I walked through reminded me of something that I'm apparently still not over. Thank you Kojima, very cool. Next time the tears fall it better be because of the story.
  14. Usually I'm the same but with Death Stranding I've swayed from that approach. Mainly because the game keeps teasing you with "Hey, complete this main mission and get a nifty thingamajig which will help you". The fact that the unlocks actually are very helpful and usually pretty cool made me keep progressing the story so I got more and more. Today, though, I'm gonna say: "Fuck it" and finally tackle some of the side quests I remember when I found one bike before reaching a certain point. The vehicle was a game changer. I used it for a while, being careful not do destroy it. But at one point I was speeding like crazy and approaching a natural ramp and thought: "YES! This is a great idea." It was not. I crashed, the bike was destroyed and most of my cargo took lots of damage.
  15. There was a time when little drahkon thought to himself: "Man, H-o-T seems like a cool dude. He loves video games, is funny, lives (and probably will die) for trophy hunting and has great taste when it comes to our hobby. Would be neat to someday meet him, chug some beers and just indulge in some friendly banter and multiplayer gaming." And then...one day...the world witnessed what would go down in history as "The BB-pet-calamity". With one paragraph and a gif, H-o-T made sure that drahkon understood with 100% certainty that he is actually a babyloving-pet-hating-SON-OF-A-GUN and should be banned from N-E for life. To this day, little drahkon can't get rid of the horror and sadness brought upon the world by this act of terrorism. I'll make sure to submerge BB in water every chance I get.
  16. Quite surprising, given your hate and disdain for pets Not sure if this'll help you, as I have a Pro, but the fans are pretty quiet. When I play Modern Warfare it sounds like a jet engine, but with Death Stranding...barely noticable. Maybe it's similar with a base PS4, maybe not. In conclusion: My response was useless.
  17. @Hero-of-Time, I pretty much share your sentiment and agree with almost everything you've said. But seriously? You like BB? Adding to that: There's a real and tangible sense of progress which I've never exprienced before in a game. Everything you do seems to matter, seems to change something. For you, the world and all the others playing Death Stranding. That shot of Amelie...I knew you'd take a screenshot, too Also: She's one of the most beautiful video game characters I've ever seen. Haven't played at all since Saturday and won't have too much time today, sadly. But I hope I can put in one or two hours tonight.
  18. Yes, here's another post Haven't had too much time to play today, but I managed to reach chapter 3 and with that I got access to some new stuff: Story progressed a little further, but I'm still mostly in the dark It's all very intriguing, though. The setting and themes are right up my alley. So far, I'm thoroughly impressed. I was hyped and haven't been disappointed, yet.
  19. 7 hours in. It's painfully obvious why this game is polarizing. You either like it, or you don't. What have I experienced so far? I'll put it and my impressions in spoilers, just in case: Am I having fun? Sure do. It's been a long time since I've spent 7 hours with a game in one day. Oh and...did I mention that Death Stranding is beautiful? This game desparately needs a photo mode And a music player that you can use in the field.
  20. Reached chapter two. The game is stunningly beautiful. Couldn't stop pressing the "share" button Some of my favourite shots: And in case you wanna know what my first encouter with BTs was like: What can I say so far? Performance is incredible. Very smooth. Astounding, really, with how gorgeous the game is. Audio is lovely, too. The tracks by Low Roar really fit the atmosphere. And Ludvig Forssell has created something spectacular from what I've heard so far. "Tell us about the gameplay, you wanker!" Ok, ok. There wasn't a lot up until now. It's a Kojima game, what do you expect
  21. Bought it,started playing, and... The first hour sure was wild, exhilarating, intense, beautiful, confusing and full of wonder. One of the best first hour I've experienced in gaming. Gonna make lunch, eat and then get right back to Death Stranding.
  22. No early copy for me But I'll get up early tomorrow and pick up a copy Can't wait to finally play Kojima's masterful postal-service-simulator.
  23. Possible leak of Sonic's new design in the upcoming movie: No idea if it's real, but I have to say: looks pretty cool.
  24. Ah, so it's just a matter of "don't skip any of Kojima's 8 hour long cutscenes" After work, I'm going to see if I can find an early copy. Will have to pay 70€ for it, but why not. I'll be able to resell it eventually. I am, however, also thinking about getting it digitally as I could get 70€ of PSN credit for 62€ and then definitely play it at midnight. But then I wouldn't have a physical copy Decisions, decisions. I think I'll go for a physical version, even if it means paying 70€ and possibly having to wait until tomorrow morning.
  25. Been listening to some tracks used for Death Stranding. Low Roar sure makes some good music. The hype is real, my friends.
