There was a time when little drahkon thought to himself: "Man, H-o-T seems like a cool dude. He loves video games, is funny, lives (and probably will die) for trophy hunting and has great taste when it comes to our hobby. Would be neat to someday meet him, chug some beers and just indulge in some friendly banter and multiplayer gaming." And then...one day...the world witnessed what would go down in history as "The BB-pet-calamity". With one paragraph and a gif, H-o-T made sure that drahkon understood with 100% certainty that he is actually a babyloving-pet-hating-SON-OF-A-GUN and should be banned from N-E for life. To this day, little drahkon can't get rid of the horror and sadness brought upon the world by this act of terrorism. I'll make sure to submerge BB in water every chance I get.

Quite surprising, given your hate and disdain for pets Not sure if this'll help you, as I have a Pro, but the fans are pretty quiet. When I play Modern Warfare it sounds like a jet engine, but with Death Stranding...barely noticable. Maybe it's similar with a base PS4, maybe not. In conclusion: My response was useless.

@Hero-of-Time, I pretty much share your sentiment and agree with almost everything you've said. But seriously? You like BB? Adding to that: There's a real and tangible sense of progress which I've never exprienced before in a game. Everything you do seems to matter, seems to change something. For you, the world and all the others playing Death Stranding. That shot of Amelie...I knew you'd take a screenshot, too Also: She's one of the most beautiful video game characters I've ever seen. Haven't played at all since Saturday and won't have too much time today, sadly. But I hope I can put in one or two hours tonight.

Yes, here's another post Haven't had too much time to play today, but I managed to reach chapter 3 and with that I got access to some new stuff: Story progressed a little further, but I'm still mostly in the dark It's all very intriguing, though. The setting and themes are right up my alley. So far, I'm thoroughly impressed. I was hyped and haven't been disappointed, yet.

7 hours in. It's painfully obvious why this game is polarizing. You either like it, or you don't. What have I experienced so far? I'll put it and my impressions in spoilers, just in case: Am I having fun? Sure do. It's been a long time since I've spent 7 hours with a game in one day. Oh and...did I mention that Death Stranding is beautiful? This game desparately needs a photo mode And a music player that you can use in the field.

Reached chapter two. The game is stunningly beautiful. Couldn't stop pressing the "share" button Some of my favourite shots: And in case you wanna know what my first encouter with BTs was like: What can I say so far? Performance is incredible. Very smooth. Astounding, really, with how gorgeous the game is. Audio is lovely, too. The tracks by Low Roar really fit the atmosphere. And Ludvig Forssell has created something spectacular from what I've heard so far. "Tell us about the gameplay, you wanker!" Ok, ok. There wasn't a lot up until now. It's a Kojima game, what do you expect

Bought it,started playing, and... The first hour sure was wild, exhilarating, intense, beautiful, confusing and full of wonder. One of the best first hour I've experienced in gaming. Gonna make lunch, eat and then get right back to Death Stranding.
-
No early copy for me But I'll get up early tomorrow and pick up a copy Can't wait to finally play Kojima's masterful postal-service-simulator.
-
Possible leak of Sonic's new design in the upcoming movie: No idea if it's real, but I have to say: looks pretty cool.
-
Ah, so it's just a matter of "don't skip any of Kojima's 8 hour long cutscenes" After work, I'm going to see if I can find an early copy. Will have to pay 70€ for it, but why not. I'll be able to resell it eventually. I am, however, also thinking about getting it digitally as I could get 70€ of PSN credit for 62€ and then definitely play it at midnight. But then I wouldn't have a physical copy Decisions, decisions. I think I'll go for a physical version, even if it means paying 70€ and possibly having to wait until tomorrow morning.

Been listening to some tracks used for Death Stranding. Low Roar sure makes some good music. The hype is real, my friends.

Interesting. I was 16 when I played through Twin Snakes. Great to see that no matter what version you played, there was a big chance of you becoming a MGS fan -
Interesting idea but I can assure you that it doesn't work. I've been playing on a small LCD monitor for years and I've noped out of many games. It's usually the sound that gets me. Maybe playing horror games on mute might help. And with eyes closed. And swap horror games with other genres. Yeah, genius plan.

May I ask how old you were at that time? True. Nostalgia is a heck of a power. I can't play through the NES Super Mario Bros. series because I have no nostalgic relationship with 'em (and because I don't like 'em). Even though they are timeless classics - in the way that they can actually hold their own without nostalgia - I can't get through them. -
Sorry, I didn't mean to pour salt on the wound. Are you planning on growing a pair and playing Resident Evil 7 sometime in the future?

Gaming Podcasts: A Thread about Listening to Others

Just downloaded it, gonna give it a go. Always wanted to get into video game podcasts for news, but they're kind of useless to me as I tend to spend most of my internet time on gaming news sites Podcasts about retro games seem like a good alternative. I have never played the original Metal Gear Solid on PlayStation. Only Twin Snakes on Game Cube. I was 9 when the game released in Germany and never heard of it back then (Crash Bandicoot and Final Fantasy IX were pretty much my only jam when I started my Sony console journey ). Access to the internet years later opened my eyes to all the wonders of video games. Way too late to experience what is now considered as Retro when it was relevant. Have you played the MSX2/NES games? -
Sometimes I can deal with horror movies. Especially if they have a gripping story. Games, though...nooooo. I remember playing Outlast back when it was a PS+ game. First jumpscare made me scream and I decided to play Flower for a while. I'm not kidding, I had to nope out of the horror and fly through a field of blossoms to calm down Resident Evil is one of your favourite series, isn't it? It's a shame the newest installment, while apparently being very good, is not something for you
-
Same. I'm always hesitant when it comes to horror movies...alright, I'm a little bitch That's why I haven't seen it, yet. But a friend told me I had to watch it because it's actually satire and the humor is right up my alley.

You'd probably have to start playing all the shovelware that's out there or stop playing at all because the devs can't catch up with you.
-
I'm so glad I moved away from the trophy hunt. That helped me finish more games than I would've this year. Haven't been playing as much as in previous years for whatever reason so not caring about trophies has been great. @Hero-of-Time how many Platinums did you already get this year?
-
Yeah, it was a matter of the moneys. But i was able to sell The Outer Worlds for 37€ (meaning, I technically only paid 11€ for it ) so I can afford Death Stranding earlier. It's been an hour since your post. I expect you are level 20 now?
-
The Outer Worlds I've completed about 40 side quests/tasks, explored the worlds quite thoroughly and finished the story just now. I'm very happy the game "only" took me 23 hours to beat. As I mentioned earlier, other games like Skyrim or Fallout tend to overstay their welcome if you're not up for the task. The Outer Worlds struck a pretty good balance. I've talked about some issues with the game but overall it's been a very entertaining and enjoyable experience. Highly recommended. Will I play the game again on "Supernova" difficulty? To be honest, I really wanted to but I've read that the survival mechanics that it adds are more tedious than difficult. So unless the devs put some work into it I'll probably just stay clear of it. Well...now I'll have to think about whether to buy Death Stranding on Friday. And I think I know what to do

Just finished season 3 of Mr. Robot. Unbelievably good. I've just learned that the 4th season is currently airing with 5 episodes already out. Good times we live in.

Cannot fucking wait for this. Adam Sandler is one of my favourite actors. I absolutely love his older comedies (Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, The Waterboy, Anger Management, The Longest Yard) but I've grown tired of his newer "funny" stuff. However, what I admire is his capability to portray other characters. Reign Over Me is one of my all time favourite dramas and Adam Sandler is masterful in this. Everytime I see his monologue (you know what I'm talking about if you've seen the movie) I burst into tears. Uncut Gems seems to be a different kind of drama, but from the looks of the trailer it might be another movie with Adam Sandler at his best.

19 hours now. I've only done 4 or 5 main quests so yeah, par the for course I'd say I'm enjoying it quite a lot. It's not perfect but very entertaining. Made me laugh out loud several times now. One thing that's a little annoying: Travelling to places you've already explored because a quest makes you do so. Why is that annoying? Because of this very inelegant means of travel: Accept quest - enter your ship - loading screen - set destination - exit ship - loading screen - usually fast travel to a place closest to the quest - loading screen. Now, the loading is relatively quick, but it's still a little irritating looking at a loading screen this much. Not a huge deal in the grand scheme of the game, though. What is, however, a huge deal: The game/combat is way too easy. I'm never really in any trouble except for when a huge fight breaks out after a conversation and the entire room of enemies gangs up on me. Also, I'm apparently 3 levels away from the level cap. So there won't be any point in taking out enemies once I'm maxed out, especially since the loot they give hasn't been of use to me for 15 hours. Really hope an increased level cap is in the works. But the devs have been completely silent since the release, so there's no way of knowing what they're working on. I'm quite sad that Obsidian is now owned by Microsoft so PS4/5 won't see an inevitable sequel or any other games from the devs I sure hope that The Outer Worlds will get some expansions in a couple months.
