  1. Yeah, my Switch is now a Slay the Spire machine
  2. The thing is: Plague Knight's moveset is actually pretty cool in itself, it just doesn't work with levels and enemies which are designed for precise actions. Levels would need a bit of a rework to make his "floatiness" shine.
  3. Couldn't sleep much last night, so I decided to finish Shovel of Hope. Think it was my third time now after playing it on PS4 and PSVita. Still a wonderful 2D platformer. Yacht Club Games really put a lot of love and polish into their game and it shows Also started Plague of Shadows for the very first time. Not sure what I think of it, yet. I don't like that Plague Knight moves as if he's always on ice.
  4. The normal one. Standard PT, or whatever it's called.
  5. My diary continues Nothing has changed. It's fun, but still nothing really special. t's obvious the game wants you to revisit previous files to discover areas with new abilities, but I can't be arsed I think this is just a "complete the story"-affair for me and I'm fine with it
  6. Might want to go for Skull & Co. Jumpgate For Nintendo SWITCH. I've only read good things about it. I'll most likely order one next year and sell the original dock. I'll also get their GripCase
  7. The Time Eater is so easy with strength scaling.
  8. Mummified Hand + Power Cards is an awesome combination. Demon Form+ is just insane, if you have the energy to play it. Edit: Such a weird run. Started off really slow, but I got some nice strength scaling later on. Lizard Tail was crucial during the Act 3 boss fight.
  9. It's on sale in the US eShop right now. Created a US profile and bought 20$ worth of credit for 17€ so I could get it. I think it's time to check both German and US prices during sales from now on. Anyway, download's almost finished. Can't wait to play this all day while having the Darts World Championship on TV in the background
  10. Yup, I've mentioned it before: You need a certain type of deck to counter it. It's actually the only bad thing about the game, in my opinion. The best players almost never go for it
  11. File #4 - complete. still don't like the "manufactured" quick time events in battles combat is not focussed on precise movements - it's much more about tanking your way through battles; it took me a while to get used to that but now the battles are a little more enjoyable; so far, however, Astral Chain has the worst battle system PlatinumGames has created I'm liking everything that takes place inside the city; gathering information, exploring the area, the occasional quick fight; as soon as the action moves to the Astral Plains it gets much more intense, which is not a bad thing; I do think that these sequences go on for too long, though platforming still sucks
  12. Played DQI for a bit and it's great. Love the way it starts: "Yo, whazzup. I'm the king, the world is going to shit, you're the hero. Do your thing." And off you go Gaming back in the days was full of magic No highly detailed map, no quest marker that pinpoints the exact location where you can find the tiny dust particle that unleashes your true potential, NPCs that either say "go ahead, thief, take what you want. My life's in shambles anyway" or tell you of a certain thing you need that is found in a place you've never heard before. You instantly realize how much handholding there is these days. Sure, some of it is necessary because games are way more complex now, but still...it's a little too much. I adore this game already
  13. You had me at "grinding" Bought it and will give it a go soon
  14. And the 5th run is a win 20XX sure is a cool game. A rogue-like Megaman clone that works surprisingly well. The randomly generated levels provide a decent challenge. At the end I was kind of able to tank my way through the last two levels. I did, however, have to play it safe during the final boss. I consider this game finished now, but will definitely go back from time to time
  15. It's not particularly what I'm looking for. Just wondering whether the first one is a good game in itself, as I've read that lots of gamers aren't really feeling it. I think I'll get this later today.
  16. @Hero-of-Time Seeing as you've played these three games quite recently would you recommend them? I'm tempted to get one. The first is 3.99€ right now but I've heard it didn't age well. You know how much I enjoyed DQXI and the general Dragon Quest Feeling™, would I get enjoyment from the first installment of the series?
  17. Does anybody have experience with the 8BitDo Wireless USB Adapter? I'm thinking about ordering one so I can use a DS4 for the Switch, as I don't like the Pro Controller. Maybe one of you ladies and gents got one (or a different one from another company) and can share some information
  18. 20XX I only did 4 runs, so far, but they've been pretty fun. Haven't managed to win, yet. Farthest I got was beating 8 bosses. With Shovel of Hope and Golf Story done, this and Astral Chain will keep me busy for a while.
  19. File #3 is done, four hours in. My thoughts so far: Astral Chain is a beautiful and stylish game sound and music are on point love the setting; cyberpunk but set in a kind of noir future works great the lip-sync...oh, the lip-sync; what the hell is that? It's very lazy and takes away lots of emotions in cutscenes fights are very button-mashy so far; not what I expected why oh why, PlatinumGames, did you have to put the stupid "press L and then the right stick to slow down time in order to cut through stuff"-mechanics in battles? It's so stupid...kind of like a manufactured quick time event; I don't mind it outside of fights but it ruins the flow during an intense battle and one more thing: the "platforming" sections are unnecessarily iffy tldr: Gameplay has been meh, so far, but the setting, characters and story are intriguing.
  20. Oooooweeee, what a stylish game this is Really digging the art style. And that music...spectacular. Not sure what I think of the battle system, yet. It's still very early days, though. Surely it'll get more complex Found a cat stuck under a trash container I'll be back, my cute little friend, don't worry.
  21. My sis and her boyfriend got this for me for Christmas Can't wait to sink my teeth into it tomorrow
  22. Wonderful and bittersweet ending to Mr. Robot.
  23. Happy Holidays, you lovely bunch. My mom, my sister and her boyfriend will get together tonight and have dinner Already got some money from my mom which I will invest in a burger from my favourite burger restaurant next week Not sure what I'll get from my sis. She did drop some hints, though, so...maybe a game for the Switch Got my mom two CDs from a German musician she likes. My sister and her boyfriend will get a steak cutlery set. Tomorrow and the day after my mom and I will have some traditional Christmas foods: Self-made potato salad and roulades
  24. Finished Golf Story just now. All my previous criticism still stands. Mind-numbingly tedious fetch quests en masse. Most of them literally with a different paint job. And that story, including all characters involved are forgettable at best. The golf mechanics, however, are pretty good. The tournaments and matches against NPCs were great fun. But in an RPG, even good a good battle system can't carry the game forever. I'm glad I got it on sale. The reduced price pretty much reflects the reduced enjoyment I got. I will stay cautiously optimistic for the sequel. Having other sports to help mitigate the tedium might be what makes for a great RPG.
