  1. 4 hours into Golf Story...and it's becoming stale. The golf mechanics are ok, but they alone can't carry the game. And then there's the humour...Golf puns here, fonts/speech bubbles that change in size there. It gets old very quickly. The story is boring, mainly because the characters are uninspired. You have the coach who thinks you suck but apparently changes his mind, you have the shady business man and your rival who hates you for a stupid reason. And who are you, anyway? No name and your backstory is just "I wanna be the very best". Quests are pretty much all fetch quests. Sometimes you golf, sometimes you have a checkpoint race. I've read in a review that "fetch quests aren't boring". I don't share that sentiment... The first enjoyment faded fast. I hope it picks up again. I'm not doing any sidequests in the hopes that the main story has some kind of twist in store.
  2. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth, but man, those games QubicGames is giving away for free are horrible.
  3. Hopp just wasn't himself this World Championship. Adding to that, Labanauskas checkout percentage was really good. Alright, Nico Kurz. Time for you to step up tomorrow
  4. Yes, very happy Gonna be tough matches in the next round for both of them. Hopefully Hopp will be able to play much better today than in his first match. I hate it. It's become more common in darts, though. E.g., whenever Hopp plays in Germany his opponents get booed relentlessly. It's one thing to be "against" someone because you like the other but in those cases it's just disrespectful.
  5. 20XX is amazing. Only put 1 hour into it, but I enjoy it quite a lot. It actually is Megaman with roguelike elements and procedurally generated levels. There are 4 characters in total. The first two are unlocked from the start; one with a sword and one with a ranged attack. No idea how to unlock the other two and what their abilities are. You have your standard roguelike elements: permanent upgrades and unlockable items you can then find in the levels. Love it It also has online and local coop. Might give the latter a go later today with a mate
  6. Indeed Nico Kurz just won his game. So happy for him And now let's hope Maximiser wins his match. Edit: He's not playing at his usual level. Gonna be a close one...
  7. Anybody here who played 20XX? That one Megaman-roguelike-game? Seems like my kind of game, just wondered if anybody could give me some of their impressions Edit: Nevermind, just watched Jim Sterling playing it and decided that I needed it
  8. My advice for the future: Only buy Christmas presents for yourself. You'll be swimming in video games.
  9. I’ve finished 27 games this year: 19 PS4 games 6 PSVita games 2 Android games And here’s my Top 10 of 2019 (I’ve chosen to disregard release dates and instead chose from all games I’ve completed this year) All in all, a great year of video gaming for me My next chapter already began with the purchase of the Nintendo Switch. With this and the PS4 seemingly going out with a bang 2020 will be off to a great start
  10. With the addition of Dungeon Mode, this is basically Crypt of the Necrodancer but with a Zelda theme. Now I wish I bought this a week ago when it was on sale Well, next time!
  11. Bought Golf Story. Enjoying it, so far. Nothing too special but a very relaxing game with humorous writing. I'm only 45 minutes in, though, so hopefully much more to explore and experience
  12. Yup. The PC version also comes with the possibility to play the beta branch (which right now means having access to the new official character). I will most likely triple-dip once I'm done with the PS4 and eventually the Switch version (i.e. Platinum trophy/100%). Going by my current playtime of 70 hours it'll take me a looooong time to reach that point, though
  13. A couple of games on my wishlist are on sale. But not Slay the Spire... Anyway, might go with: either Dragon Quest I, II or III - most likely the third because it apparently "feels" more like recent entries of the series Golf Story Katana Zero or The Messenger Two RPGs and a little bit of action/platforming seems like a nice balance for the holidays
  14. Alright, I'll be staying at my mom's place for the holidays so we'll have to see whether her internet connection is good enough, but I'll definitely be up for some gaming. Hopefully with more driving action.
  15. I won't answer unless you ask me four times I've played both and I think Borderlands 3 is miles ahead.
  16. Totally forgot to let you know that I was away on Sunday, sorry. You got time tomorrow? I'll probably be around from 4pm-8pm. Edit: 3pm-7pm GMT.
  17. Finished Borderlands 3 solo just now. Incredible game. Pure and simple loot 'n' shoot enjoyment. It evolves and elevates the mechanics that make the Borderlands series awesome to a higher level. Can't wait to get back to the coop run with my mate.
  18. Mr. Robot's getting better and better... I need more.
  19. Alright, Nintendo, you know what you have to do. It's do or die. There is one game that needs to be on sale: Bud Spencer & Terence Hill - Slaps and Beans
  20. I changed that picture to a Yoshi egg before we started playing.
  21. @Glen-i great session Sorry for leaving so abruptly but I'm hungry My driving skills are unrivaled, by the way.............
  22. Aaaand I bought it Seems like a no brainer for that price, to be honest. Lots and lots of content. I've only played Shovel of Hope so there's quite a lot of new content for me to enjoy. Will definitely play the original again first, though
  23. Alright. There might be an event for me to attend but I'm not sure if I want to be there. If I won't be there for some gaming I'll let you know.
