  1. Eh? All I saw on Eurogamer was that they are announcing the first party games they will be showing ahead of time. Methinks that's because they don't have any unrevealed IP to announce this year and they're tempering expectations. In my opinion they need to steer clear of the Direct format, empty and lacking the usual atmosphere of the live presentations. Sony have shown they can do live presentations without endless filler, so that's all they have to do.
  2. Ehh...I find most NES games pretty boring to be honest, and I'll bet a lot of fans will have bought the good ones on previous VCs. If the NES games were a separate and optional deal I can't imagine many people here would be signing up for this. You also don't 'get' them as I recall, you lose access to each after the month is up. Not very good value in my opinion.
  3. Good riddance GameSeek.
  4. I don't see the family account as particularly good value, purely because I think extra accounts on the same system should be able to play online without a more expensive sub. Who has a family of 8 that they trust implicitly to share account details with anyway? I don't trust to share my PSN account with one person. Unless there's a way to make each account private with separate login details, but if that's the case then I don't see how they will prevent this system being abused. Surely people would just go on websites designed to hook 8 people up on one sub? For the record, I'm sure there will be people with at least 2 other family members they trust enough (because you need 3 on it to make any real saving), but this seems rather niche to me. At least in my situation, none of my other direct family have a Switch. For me, I'd want to share my Switch with my wife and for us to both be able to play online on our own accounts. Can't do that without the more expensive sub though. It all feels quite stingy to be honest, as this brings it up to XBL costs but with a far worse offering. There are so few games worth playing online on Switch, the online feature integration is poor and the NES game offering is extremely unappetising. As it stands I see little value in Nintendo's sub, even the standard priced one.
  5. The people saying at least not having local saves combats piracy know the Switch has had its door blown wide open to piracy recently anyway right?
  6. I think this is quite poor value, particularly the family option. If my wife and I want to play on our accounts online on my one Switch, we're looking at 31.50 GBP per year which puts it in the same price league as Xbox Gold (as you can usually always pick it up for about this price); except you're not getting the big retail games (or indie hits), an established service or integrated voice chat. And PS Plus can often be picked up for not far off that either. All the other services don't charge you for playing with a different account on the same system. I don't care about being able to share it with other random people to split the cost as from a security perspective I wouldn't do that (same reason I don't allow other people to use my PSN account by setting as a primary console, in order to split the sub fee). Nintendo should also add a free method to backup saves, as I don't particularly see much reason to fork out for this service yet but would still like a way to backup my saves. Again, all the other companies have a free option.
  7. I think I was even more critical of it than you. I just didn't think it was a very good game. Even what was there felt glitchy and not very fun to play. The charm factor was also very much missing, and generally the platforming felt weak. Mini games often felt frustrating and the moveset and feel of the character movement was a disappointment. What was up with the flying controls? Why does rolling have a stamina bar? The camera?! The game felt undercooked and I wouldn't be rushing to buy their next game in a hurry. For me this wasn't so much a case of not living up to nostalgia, but it generally just not being a good game in its own right.
  8. It's probably to do with whether you have the original or slim PS4 (or the Pro), what game you're playing, how much dust is clogged in your system, and whether you're in a hot room or not. I would expect the noise to vary based on the level of fan operation and the model.
  9. I think it's more that loud noise is just annoying, whereas the consequences of lack of cooling will be financially damaging for them.
  10. From what I've read, 0 is the better game and it starts right from the beginning. 0 is also a new game whereas Kiwami is a remake of the first game, so I heard it is a bit outdated feeling. Could be wrong on that.
  11. Well whatever you call it, N-Europe used to have it so pressing enter took you to the next line, which made more sense and seems to be more liked, based on the reactions here at least.
  12. Yeah I mentioned this before, because of this formatting difference it always looks odd on either Tapatalk or the web browser. You can pretty much consider anyone who uses Tapatalk to want this change.
  13. FYI it's only £22.85 at Base.
  14. Basically this. It makes total sense for them to announce these games at the very start of development for this reason. It's also a massive boon for the console, as people back in 2015 were still deciding which console to buy. I don't really have a problem waiting for a game and hearing about it at conception, for any or the E3 2015 games or even the Metroid Prime 4 "reveal". Patience is a virtue and all that.
  15. How was it an empty promise, of the 3 big games shown The Last Guardian has long since been released, and Shenmue 3 and FF7 were pretty much kicked off there and then (the former even seeking to gain funding first) so I'm not surprised to see they're not out yet. Shenmue 3 should be out within a year and the remakes are confirmed for this year to tide us over. Also worth noting that the two games we're waiting on are third party titles so it's out of Sony's hands. Regardless of what we're still waiting for, that moment was generally received as one of E3's biggest bombshell moments, and a clever move to make people invest in PS4 over the X1.
  16. Fucking hell these GIFs never get old. What a train wreck.
  17. Just for the first 15 seconds really.
  18. Yeah in that case it's a stupidly good deal. Trade them in and then just download them on Plus.
  19. That sounds like a very good deal, depending on what the games are that you must trade in. PS4 pro downscales a 4k resolution or something like that for 1080p sets and the results are supposed to be very good. There are also a lot of games that run at higher than normal framerates as a result of the Pro upgrade that you will still benefit from. You'll also be getting a new system with a new warranty, and a new controller too. There are some other perks too like 1080p60 streaming. I did an upgrade a while back and haven't looked back. Mind you, I've got a 4K OLED, but I reckon you'd still very much appreciate the upgrade.
  20. I'd be up for it.
  21. That actually sucks, as when I visited my folks up north they would often be selling games at decent prices and also had some import games for sale that you couldn't get yet (e.g. Persona 4 Golden before it released here). I had noticed the increasing scourge of those Pop figurines though. Maybe that's a sign of the end? Seen nearly a whole floor of Forbidden Planet in London covered in those tacky things too.
  22. Yeah I remember the Wii being constantly out of stock whereas you can quite comfortably get a Switch wherever you want right now. I remember Wii being massive in terms of craze/widespread adoption so for me I don't see the Switch as being as much of a 'hit' (but it's better, so who cares).
  23. Oh man. That be some epic shiz. Don't think I could get every crown for this.
  24. Let me know your thoughts on it, loved the first game and it looks like the total overhaul on the combat this time round could make this one even better.
