Well my two week holiday in Portugal went well (despite the fuel crisis which threatened to derail the second half). I didn't really end up using an awful lot of Portuguese though. Almost everybody spoke English, but I did try and order in Portuguese whenever I could. It was refreshing being able to understand signs, and menus etc though. Since returning from holiday though, keeping up Portuguese seems a bit pointless, since I doubt I'll go back any time soon, or visit Brazil, Mozambique or Angola. I've decided to do a bit of French for a bit, at least until I can decide on a different language to learn.

Was hoping this would be a brand new crossover game in which you play as both Abu and Rafiki, trying to help Aladdin and Simba respectively gain their thrones, but it's open world and actions in one part of the map affect the other. Dunno what this shit is.

My wife has been veggie since childhood, so all the meals I cook at home have been vegetarian food years. About a month ago, I decided to join her, since 90% of my meals are already, and it was just restaurants where I ate meat. It's not been that hard, although I do cheat and eat fish every now and then. Especially in Portugal, where 80% of the menus are fish. The best burger I've had is the moving mountains burger from Hard Rock Cafe. I genuinely could not tell that it wasn't meat, it was incredible. Really delicious as well.

I like the Matrix sequels. I haven't seen them in a while though, so they may not stand up very well, but I enjoyed them at the time.

It came free with something else, and since I haven't watched the first 7, I wasn't that fussed about watching the 8th. If you don't take it, it'll probably end up at a charity shop.

My wife and I collect Lonely Planet guides from all the places we visit (technically we buy them before we visit, but we 'collect' them afterwards on a shelf). We also like to buy a Christmas tree decoration from everywhere that we go, so our tree is covered with little mementos of our holidays. I did collect N64 magazines when I was a kid, but like Shorty said, it was kind of a relief getting rid of the clutter once I realised I was never going to read them again.

Is Fast and Furious 8 on your shopping list?

I'd give your gf one more chance if I were you. Pros tend to be very expensive, and there's no emotional connection there at all.

I don't think I've turned my Switch on in three months, my PS4 in three weeks. My Oculus Quest gets regular use, but it's not really proper gaming. I'm hoping it'll pick up again once the busyness of summer subsides.

I watched the Lion King last night - it was daytime during Can You Feel the Love Tonight = literally unwatchable. Nah, I thought it was pretty good. I initially only went to see it because I was curious about the CGI (which was incredible) but I actually ended up enjoying the film far more than I was expecting. Songs did fall a bit flat, but the voice acting was far less jarring than i expected. All the newer cast did really well. I actually spent the entire film thinking that Idris Elba was the choice of Scar, and was very impressed. I didn't like Idris Elba as Shere Khan, and was worried he'd do a similarly terrible job at Scar. I thought I'd been won over, since Scar was brilliant, but it turns out it was actually Chiwetel Ejiofor instead. Timon and Pumba were great, Zazu was great. Yeah, I liked it. The one thing I would have changed is to replace that weird bland Beyonce song when Simba is running home with the fantastic "He Lives in You" from The Lion King 2: Simbas Pride. That's the song I had in my head when he started running, and imo fits way better, and once I realised they weren't going to play it, I actually got a bit angry.

Just start a new game +. You can get extra tokens from that game, which is enough to buy all the suits without having to do the challenges.

We bought a 2 foot tall fan the size of a airplane prop a few years ago and have no regrets. Put it on max setting and all our belongings end up on the opposite side of the room, but it's so gloriously cool.
