Good thing this thread has been bumped, I was about to do it myself.. I finally found a sealed copy lying in store last week, but I haven't really gotten into it yet (Madworld comes first). Quick question though; During the opening scene, I get some distortion at the bottom, exactly where the subtitles begin (it's "shifted"). Maybe I should take a photo of it next time. Defective copy or is this a known issue? Or a simple case of cleaning the DVD lens (should get that cleaning kit..)?

Never played the original (when will it appear on VC?), but that one also looked great to me. This looks fantastic, so that's another € 50,- spent I guess.

Geist is actually a game I'd personnally see it the other way around, I'd rather see a sequel instead of a remake.. Oh I'd love a sequel.
-
Atmosphere in the trailer was great. Graphics were good too as far as I could see.

If they can make a cheap sequel to Tales of Symphonia, they might as well remake Tales of Phantasia with the same engine. You don't have to deal with the flaws of the port(s), and they can add a much needed manual mode amongst others.

Not sure (haven't tried it yet), but I assume it's a simple case of plugging the nunchuck in.

Yep, I was disappointed by the on-rails bit too. I was like "First person? Yeah! .. No wait, on-rails? Damn!" Not that I have anything against on-rails, but I prefer other genres.. Just imagine a fps horror game (with similar limited movement though). Still.. It's the same studio. I think we can more or less expect the same production values and atmosphere.. We'll just have to wait how the gameplay'll turn out. Like I said, on-rail shooters aren't my favourite genre, but House of the Dead got even me hyped, and Starfox 64 was one of my favourite games on the N64, so on-rails isn't necessarily a bad thing, and this game obviously will be different, it won't have an arcade feel. The on-rails thing immediately removed the hype for me, but I'm still optimistic and looking forward to this (just a little bit less than before). Though if they decide to also do a survival FPS, that would be great .

I'm planning on buying a PS3 for RE 5 in particular, but if / when I do, this game's also a must-buy. (and also: "koopt Hollandsche waar":D) Anyway, marketing is pretty spectacular for this game.. This is the first game I've seen a commercial for in a cinema! And I've seen it twice already (before Slumdog Millionaire and before Gomorra). I though it was pretty cool.

Wanted to get this last Friday together with Deadly creatures, but the Dutch releasedate appears to be the 20th (did come come with Deadly Creatures though). I'll have it next Friday.

Wii: Day 1: Deadly creatures Little King´s Story MADWORLD Kororinpa 2 Maybe (more likely): House of the Dead: Overkill Mushroom Men: The Spore Wars Maybe (less likely): Tenchu Shadow Assassins Castlevania Judgment PES 2009 ds: Day 1: Rune Factory March is probably the month I'll buy a PS3, because of RE 5. For PC FEAR 2 and ehh, is Empire: total war coming Q1? And of course I'm not taking into account my backlog for all systems.
-
I also have Left 4 Dead for PC, but I don't have a PC yet (PC to run current games that is). I'm buying these games because I don't wanna miss out on them and risk not being able to buy them anymore when I do have a capable PC. Anyway, it looks like I'll have plenty money by the end of February to build a more than decent system (with current available components).. And I'm pretty anxious to finally play some fantastic PC games again, so I just might do that.. Unfortunately I'd also like to wait for new motherboards to come out with the lucid hydra chip, but there's no concrete news on when that will happen. I hope we get some news on that soon. Maybe I'll join you guys next month, otherwise I hope to join you some time later this year (hopefully), when I'm running games on a sentient mechanical monster.

Snowglobes? I didn't know what you were on about.. Then after 24:00, I finally started Animal Crossing, and came across Tortimer, who didn't give me anything. Mumbled something about "that's the end of Midwinter's day". Couldn't that be announced on the messageboard as well? I was fixed on the 24th.. Damn World of Goo. If it wasn't for that game, I would've started playing a lot sooner, and I assume would've gotten the snowglobe.. Now I have to wait a whole fucking year. I know what I won't be playing for a year, untill I have my snowglobe! It's World of Goo. Stupid game. Ok, I might be overreacting a bit.

Came in home late yesterday, so missed K.K. (among other things). Note of importance: I've just gone to the Nintendo site.. Some semi- good news (or bad, depending on what you find more relevant), they have retro-actively awarded me with the bonus VIP points. But it's on my blacklist as well. I also don't know if that's because I've sent an e-mail, to which I didn't receive a response, or if that was a standard action. So check your starpoints.

Haven't posted my comments here yet, after buying the game. Anyway, eventhough I was aware it would be a similar experience (to the DS version I've played), I was still surprised too see it being (or perhaps rather looking) too similar to the last version. But like I posted before, I pretty much neglected my town on the DS, so I can deal with it. Allthough it's a bit tiring seeing all those familar items in the store that I have to buy again . First day in the game (thursday, day before the release), there wasn't much for me to do apart from Nooks part-time job.. I started playing rather late, and everything was closed.. Even most things in the city! Oh well, I introduced myself to the neighbours and checked the game out as far as I could. I didn't do the DS transfer, I wanted to start from scratch. At first I wasn't to happy with my new character (the questions were pretty vague this time, unlike in the DS version), but it's all good now I gave him a different haircut. I too chose the beachhouse.. The other houses are still vacant. Does that mean new players in the same town get their own house, unlike in the DS version? Anyway, like I said, their wasn't that much to do, allthough I did come across Gwendel. The third day (06-12), I can't believe it. They even managed to sneak in a Dutch Holiday in. Calling it "Naughty ot nice day" this unmistakenly is Animal Crossings version of our Sinterklaas! Got the stocking (it really is a shoe though), but only one, and I'm not selling it to any Americans! Won the fishing tournement yesterday, with a 42,5" Sea bass. I held a Pike in reserve, but it wasn't needed fortunately.. So I could sell it for cash at Nook's. Seeing Chip eat my fish is rather disturbing.. I saw the Northern lights for the first time, nice touch. I've seen it before on those pics in the pics thread. Got my first request from K.K... I messed up my request last week, so I got a random one. But now I have my favourite from the DS version, K.K. Soul. Made a few snowmen, the first one was good.. My first good snowman! I never succeeded in the DS version, but then again, I never saw much snow. But I made 3 after that one, and they were all mediocre.. So yeah. I also haven't seen the elusive Coalacanth. I have been fishing while it was snowing, but nothing yet. Never got one of those in the DS version either. Today, a few little surprises. Of course the fishing trophy, well that one wasn't a surprise, but I saw Kapp'n in The Roost, And Brewster appears to be a Gyroid collector! That's coming in handy. And I played hide 'n seek for the first time! Got me a nice reward too! Oh well, (a rather detailed desription of) a few of my experiences in the game so far. I'm enjoying myself so far, and I'll try to keep it up, playing the game every available day. Maybe I should put my FC up on this board though.. I've got only one friend so far who've bought Animal Crossing, and it doesn't look like that number will increase soon / fast.. Anyway, I'll post a few more pics later. Few questions though: - Eventhough I have Wii Speak, I'm still interested in a keyboard. I forgot the comments made about keyboard support in one of those firmware topics.. Can I just plug in any keyboard (like one of those trendy Apple keyboards) and expect it to work? - Does anyone else have problems with the LAN adapter? The game doesn't recognize an internet connection through it. I do have general problems with internet through the LAN adapter (see the general online problems topic on this board..), but this game doesn't do anything with it, eventhough I can use the browser and the shop right after. Everything works with the Wi-Fi USB connector though.

I've bought the first one a few days ago. It was more for my brother than for myself, because he likes this sort of puzzle game, as he said he spent much time on the Zelda minigame . Allthough I enjoyed some marble madness too back in the day . It's a fun little game, and very cute (the last thing I unlocked was a cute UFO ball ). But getting those gold medals is hard! Anyway, I have plenty games to finish, so I won't get back to it immediately, but definitely worth the purchase; I considered myself lucky enough to even find it in this day, I still had to pay the full price, but like I said, I though it was worth it. Anyway, the news of this sequel was actually what made me decide I wanted this game for the collection, I obviously never picked this up when it was normally available, eventhough I was interested. The new features in the sequel sound really cool, so that one will most likely be heading my way too.

I was about to post this in the regular thread, but I saw this thread pop up before I got the chance, so there you go: My new home in Caprica Not impressive, but oh well. I'll post some comments on the game in the regular thread later.

Yeah, too bad they're more expensive, but it would still be worth it in my opinion. I would've ordered it if I had the points and I didn't already have Zero Mission . De wrapping paper seems a bit pointless (..), the pluche looks cute though (and I don't even own Nintendogs). On another note, I received my soundtrack today.. That was relatively quick. I was filled with joy.. Untill I opened it. It seems they were in such a hurry to get it delivered to me that fast, they actually forgot to put the first disc in the jewel case. .. <sigh> I'll just mention hat in the same mail as the not-working VIP codes.

I hope you don't mind I've got the original Cube version . I've started to replay this not too long ago, but haven't gotten back to it now I have to go to the Gorons. I will though, unlike last 2 Christmasses, I finally have some time off again during that period. So I'll be playing this and probably Link's Awakening again. Totally forgot my brother had a player's choise release! Anyway, from the top of my head: - Holding you new copy in the store as you purchase it. Opening the box.. Flick through the manual.. And finally booting up the disc. Every new (main) Zelda is an event to look forward too. - Holding that cute dog in your arms. - Rounding up the sheep at the range.. Great Alpine atmosphere.. Makes me want to go to the actual Alps. - Petting the sheep, and throwing them to the side when they escape . - Running around as a wolf for the first time (when you don't wanna get on Epona, it beats out rolling! :P) - Seeing Hyrule castle messed up for the first time in the Twilight Realm. - The Goron mini boss and the Goron main boss. - The first time you go galopping across Hyrule field and Moblins start chasing you on their swine creature things (your first horsefight in other words) - Being able to ride those creatures as a temporary alternative. - The entrance to the temple of time (I loved that temple in Ocarina of time, the Forest temple that is), and it's miniboss, your first real sword fight I believe. - Bridgefight with King Bulbin. - Of course like others already mentioned, the chainball guy who got upgraded to (very cool) miniboss.. And you get to use his weapon! Very impractical but very fucking cool. - The whole sky temple. How you get up there, those weird creatures, the weird ambient sounds and overall atmosphere, and its mini and main boss. And of course the very cool upgrade of a staple Zelda weapon/item. - Hitting your enemy with your shield (and the upgraded battle system in general, was already very cool in Wind Waker). - Midna in her true form, very sexy indeed . Was the one I missed most in the gashapon series. - That bug miniboss you fight on Lake Hylia as a wolf. - Ganon(dorf) fight. All 4 parts of it. Allthough the horsebattle part is my favourite! More horsebattles in the sequel please! Oh well. Just a few . Edit: forgot the greatest thing in TP; the Hyrule Town Malo Mart theme music. The biggest reason I want a Zelda TP OST! Edit: one last thing: fishing for those skeleton fish . Love those little things!

Is this out then? Didn't see it last friday.. And the releaseschedule on the Nintendo site is useless (if this has been released that is).

This game looks fantastic.. I'm considering just buying relatively simple computer (up to € 1000,-) to play this game (and a few others I have lying around). It's tempting, eventhough that money can be better spent on other stuff .

I think it was the first I got.. So late in the game, I wondered if had missed (m)any.

Brought it back home today, gonna play it tonight.

I had to borrow this back in the day. I didn't have a Gameboy myself back then, and my brother didn't have this game. So I was playing a borrowed copy on my brother's Gameboy . Anyway, it was indeed a magical experience. Now I think of it, for me it's still probably the best portable Zelda experience. The atmosphere is just fantastic, the sense of mystery. I love the bit where you have to guide the ghost to his grave. When he stops at his house, with that music.. So sweet.
