That's my point.. This "game" (I'll just call it an.. application from now on) aims to get people to exercise. If you feel you don't need any more regular exercise (and it seems like you don't, you've incorperated it nicely into you're daily life), than this app just won't be necessary for you. Save your money and spend it on the real games like Zack & Wiki and No more Heroes etc. The only other reason you could have for getting it, is simply for your collection, hopefully the balance board will be used for plenty other games in the future. In the mean time, maybe you have a girlfriend / parent / sibling who can exercise.
-
Maybe that's your problem, you consider this a "game". I'll think I'll get it, might be a more fun and convenient way (and cheaper compared to a gym) of getting exercise. Then again, there are better ways to get exercise. Still, like I said, it's more convenient..

Hmm, I think it's gonna be Dewy's adventure, but I also want a multiplayer game before the end of the year. I think it's gonna be Rayman 2, but I'd also like Mario vs Sonic, I might ask that one for Christmas (although I have to be quick about that). First one for next year is gonna be Zack & Wiki, followed by No more Heroes.. Next DS game is probably gonna be the new advance wars.

I ordered it yesterday, should've done that some time ago though. Can't wait, although my orderconfirmation says it may take 'till 11 january for my order to be delivered.. Oh well.

I read an IGN review long ago, and I already had my GBA then I think, but the game sounded fantastic so I just had to have it. I still don't have it. It's not been released outside the US. I even mailed the studios, Wayforward was it? To ask if they knew where I could find a new copy (at that time, it was actually still listed on the Capcom US store, but they don't ship to Europe). I actually got a reply from Matt, who pretty much said that apart from 2nd hand, my other options are ROMs, and he didn't mind at all! With the game being hard to get.. When I read this newsitem on the frontpage, I quickly did a search on some Ebay affiliated site to see what would turn up, a few copies, but all just cartridge only. And they were going for around $ 30,-. I had that site bookmarked, because I once found a still sealed copy, but it was like $ 60,- or something.. Then I thought "that's rediculous for a GBC game". What a moron I was, if I came across a sealed copy now, I'd think I'd even pay $ 100,-. I'll take a look at the site later, it's good to know they're still interested in doing a sequel, thay intended to make one for the GBA even a long time ago.

I'll try again: When I use my LAN adapter for internetconnection, I keep disconnecting, maybe every 15 minutes. It always happens, and I can't play Charged Football normally because of it.. I have to use my DS USB connector when I really wanna game online. I's prefer to use my LAN adapter though, it's faster, less laggier, easier, and I don't have to bother my brother for use of his computer. So... Does anyone have any idea what may be the problem? Does it have anything to do with my routersettings? Or the settings of my Wii?

I just bought the DS game rack, it's back in stock. That's the kind of stuff I want to spend those points on.. Well, that and games (really didn't regret getting Geist for free for points). Anyway, I wonder if it's back in stock in general, for all EU countries, or if they have different allocations for each country.. In any case, I can't wait. It doesn't hold all my games, but that's not the point (Or... I could order 2!).

Except that in Super Mario 64 you have 1 star for collecting 100 coins and 1 star for collecting 8 red coins on each level, which were there anyway no matter which star you chose (in fact I'd used to try to collect both stars in one go if possible)). And some people just like to collect things, I personally was a bit dissappointed when there weren't 100 notes to find anymore in Banjo-Tooie.. I finished Super Mario Galaxy (for the first time) some time ago, I'll go back at it and finish it for the second time

From the screenshots they've shown so far, I think most fans (I wouldn't call myself a real fan) will agree we're better off without it. I'll do my bit to help the Treasure Island Z sales, I'll buy it as soon as possible.

I guess I'm late to the party, but this time for real . I don't get people complaining about sold out stuff, this is to be expected right? I mean, Nintendo fans in all of Europe are trying to get on the site, and you can't expect them to have stock for everyone of us? They're limited after all . Good stuff in general, some standard Hori merchandise, cool in itself, but the DS gamecase for example looked like a club Nintendo exclusive, with the logo.. That's what I would've gotten. Hopefully they'll have more of those in future updates. I'm actually more excited about the exclusive stuff than Wii point, although it's cool they finally implemented that too. But Ill save my points for the exclusive stuff.. I also hope they'll still put up some actual games like in the past. About the site itself: looks ok, looks like the other Nintendo sites now, not especially aesthetically pleasing to me (but definately not ugly mind), but more importantly, a lot cleaner. Anyway, better overall.

No you're not, I totally agree. As a 2D animation lover the graphics for the 2D fighters were a very big part of the appeal. To say my interests are completely gone is exagerated, but the hype certainly is. It's a shame, but it's the natural trend unfortunately, the 3D models are much easier to animate. But it's an artform I appreciate less than 2D animation. It'll probably still be cool to play with your favourite (anti) heroes of Street Fighter in an all new game, but the game will be less different from all the other fighters out there.. More mainstream appeal I guess. Anyway, I really have to think about importing a PS2 with some Hori sticks and third strike.. (and Guilty Gears and Tales of Symphonia in japanse while I'm at it )

Hmm.. Personally I think the dual analog control is an invention that I could do without completely. Although I have to say my experience with it are fairly limited, I don't any FPS games for the Cube. But, I mean, an analog control for walking? You don't have 8 direction keys on your keyboard do you? So I agree with the person who also mentioned the N64 controls: they're the best as far as "traditional controls" go. That said, I do miss the C-buttons. Not so much for console FPS games, I also agree with some people that Wii controls are better for those games.. But in general, I think the remote / nunchuck combo could do with more buttons. Don't ask me were the should be placed though . So personally I prefer (in relation to FPS games): Dual analog < N64 controls < Wii controls. About PC controls (keyboard + mouse that is, can't play FPS games with just the keyboard as in Doom ), I'm not sure anymore, since the Wii.. I'm sure they're more precise, or at least easier to be precise with, but Wii controls feel more fun and natural to me now I think, although it's been a while since I played a FPS game on the PC. There's no friction with a remote. I like 'm both in any case.

But you can use Gimp for animated GIF files (?). It's what I use.
-
You're looking at the screen, not the console are you? I do get your point, and I agree to a certain extent, but it's the game itself that matters more to me. It's simply my taste, I generally want to enjoy entertainment in their original version, although I'm not that obsessed if I'm not aware of the original version or don't have too much experience with it. That's why I bought the FF III remake, I didn't have the pleasure of experiencing it during the NES days. But it's why I hate dubbing, why I hate censorship, and why I hate Han shooting first. That said, I already said simply adding an extra option wasn't that big of a deal for me. Especially since I don't buy that many VC games. Because I actually own a N64 which brought me many years of joy thank you very much, the scart cable is unplugged but it's right next to my TV if I need it..
-
It's why I almost refrained from posting (as I should have), but I simply couldn't resist . Anyway, maybe people can get back on-topic.
-
Oh wow, I'm a bit late to the party.. It seems they already ran out of "bad jokes" for 5 starpoints a piece .
-
You'd still see the menubutton which wasn't in the original version now would you? Anyway, it's not that big of a deal for me, but I'd just prefer to have the option to play the game in the original state, aside from translations.. Maybe a more simple solution would be to sell both versions seperately in the VC shop, but they'll probably be worried about idiots not able to tell the difference and end up complaining..
-
To be honest, I think they should give you the option during the start-up screen, "start original version" & "start enhanced version". Things like online multiplayer are cool of course, but some times you just wanna go for the retro feel, and these enhancements aren't helping in that case. Otherwise, just go for the complete remake-overs with enhanced graphics and new levels etc, and sell them for a bit more on the Wiiware channel..
-
I'm also looking forward to it.. I hope they release a box with all three games so I can finally have good versions of the first 2. I bought the second second hand recently at a convention, and although I know it's not as good as the first one, I'm confident it'll be decent at least, and in any case I want to know how the story progresses. I loved the first one, the atmosphere, and so many things you can do to get past something (I usually tried to do as many things as possible for the skill points), and the story.. I hope part 3 will be excellent as well. Maybe we should start a Deus Ex thread to share stories (if I can remember them well though), if someone hasn't already?
-
You're right about that, but well, let's see how it looks up close and personal when it's released. And even if it then still fails to impress visually (wel some people), I still have the feeling this 'll be my kind of game and I won't care in the end. I mean, I enjoyed Skies of Arcadia just as much on the GameCube .
-
Maybe it looks like 1 of the better looking Dreamcast games, I dunno, don't have much experience with Dreamcast games, but it certainly looks better than Skies of Arcadia, even at this stage. Unless, of course, you're talking about the artstyle, in which case it's a matter of taste.

I still haven't finished Path of Radiance, with a lot of other games to play, I haven't come back to it yet. After finishing Mario might be a good time. Which characters are returning by the way? Or most of them? I don't think I'll start a new file just to take this into account, but I might as well change a little who I use and how I divide my bonus exp in this playthrough. I have been seriously neglecting Sothe for example, because I read on gamefaqs that ehh the other thief (forgot his name) was generally better..
-
[You're exagerating quite a bit] I will hold of judgement 'till I see the final result, but from what I can see it looks nice. Then again, I value a good artstyle more than actual graphics quality. Anyway, you can see the trailer on the teaser site itself, click the 4th link in the menu on the top. You won't have to deal with any Gametrailer ads. I love the look & sound of it so far.. Although it doesn't seem to be a RPG with instanced battles etc, it looks like it's an action RPG. Not that that's a bad thing.

I wish I had (started on veteran). Like I said, I found the game much easier than the previous 2. When starting my game, I did wonder if I should start on veteran, having played the 2 previous games, but I reckoned it was simply hard mode already unlocked and maybe for people who didn't have to adjust to the new controls. Normal mode would be challenging enough, like the previous games, I thought. I was wrong.. For the heck of it, a few instances I remember dieing at (in normal mode obviously): - 2 times fighting Rundas, I was still getting used to the new controls, and actually forgot i had morphball at my disposal. Also my brother told me I could actually shoot the normal icebits for health, didn't know that. As far as I can remember, this is actually the only time I died because it was challenging - Died 1 time fighting Gandrayda, but I'm not sure how, I thought I had most of my health, but it was pretty much an instant death. I'm pretty sure though, I wandered too far from the center of the arena, and into the acid rain.. Second time I remembered though. And won pretty easily. - I still didn't know how Hypermode actually functioned. Somewhere indoors on Bryo, a space pirate threw a Phazon grenade at me, and I got hit, sending me into corrupted hypermode. Up to that point, I didn't use hypermode myself apart from the few instances it was necessary. I didn't know how to turn it off, and didn't even know I had to, so I died, getting the special game over screen. - I didn't die, but it was certainly challenging, the miningboss where you get the novabeam. Maybe it wouldn't be much of a problem now, now I know what to do, but I barely survived my first visit. - Also didn't die, but was low on health with the ehh, forgot his name, the second leviathanboss. Was also figuring out the proces, In the end I found out how his first phase worked and I could survive, but as I was low on health, and was about to quit anyway, I decided to give it another try later. Defeated it second time. - Didn't die, but the last bit had me worried about my health also.

Who's going to a GAME Mario Galaxy Launch Event?
Sméagol replied to Charlie's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Whoops, my bad . Still don't know if I'll go, I'd like those coins, but going all the way to Amsterdam, while I could be sitting at home playing the game itself.. Hmm.
