  1. The real reason for the Civil War: [tweet]723121536962433024[/tweet]
  2. God damn it.. Wish I'd seen him live while I had the chance. He was performing at North Sea Jazz a few years ago, while I was there, but you needed an extra additional ticket for it.
  3. No, post process 3d is still shit. I still opt for Imax sometimes because the scteen is still better regardless of number of dimensions. If you have the option for imax 2d, go for that. If not, well 3d doesn't hurt too much except for higher ticket price, but doesn't add anything either. At least you have likely a great film to look forward too, so you might as well make it your first imax experience, so you can see if you like it in general.
  4. Well, if it's still useful; from the top of my head (as its currently in its box). In general, I'm happy with the feel of the actual buttons, though placement could be better. I'm a fan of the Nintendo Wii classic controller pro layout. Apart from that, like I said, build quality is excellent. Doesn't feel plasticy, it's not super rubbery, but has a nice texture, and it's weighty. Customisation options are quick and straight forward. D-pad is good. A huge improvement over the 360 d-pad. But still not as tight as the average Nintendo D-pad. I'm using the actual D-pad by the way, the other option doesn't feel right. Good enough for 2D platforming. It's a tiny bit too far to the right for my small hands, for frantic movements, it could hurt my thumb (my nail). I couldn't see myself using this for fighters. Face buttons are simply good. I didn't like the feel (the shape) of the 360 facebuttons, they fixed that. No complaints. The sticks. I don't like the placement, I want the left stick to be switched with the D-pad. But the feel, the movement is godly. The smoothest sticks I've ever had the pleasure of using. I do kind miss the Nintendo style faux-octo gates, but I can live with that. Nice to have options as well, you have 3 pairs of sticks, I personally use the short concave sticks, they feel the best to me. Triggers, more or less same thing. The feel is great, placement could be a little better. I should clarify, since to me all shoulderbuttons are triggers.. The bumpers could've been placed a bit better. Actually pushing them is great, but they're not perfectly placed beneath my fingers. The actual triggers though, are placed perfectly. The feel is great, though I don't use the analog mode.. I have no use for it. Pressure feels great, but I can't test it in-game. You can easily switch between analog and hairtrigger mode, which is what I use, and they're quick and responsive. Backpedals, I have only tested them quickly. I had no experience with backpedals before, and I didn't know how'd they feel. After quick testing, I personally found only one pedal (there are 4) to feel useful, the other 3 get in the way too much due to the way I hold the controller. After finalizing the buttonmapping for Axiom Verge, however, I found no direct use for it. But I could defintely see potential use for it for other games. I'm obviously not going to play FPS games with the controller on PC, but for those who do, I can definitely think of uses for it. Jumping or something would be better using a pedal. There's a special driver that let's you customize the button layout, but it's only for Windows 10, which I have not yet downloaded, so I have no experience with that, though it should prove useful.
  5. Yeah me. I have barely any experience with the 360 controller, or the regular one controller, so I can't really compare. but I'm using the elite one for PC. I do know I didn't like the feel of the original 360 controller one bit though, and I have no problem with the one / elite controller. I'm still not a fan of the x-box button layout, but it has worked out so far. I could try to elaborate if you want, when I have the time, but I haven't used it on that many games either yet, looking to try out Tomb Raider with it when I get it in a Steam winter sale. Played Axiom Verge to completion with it, it works fine for 2D. From my currently installed games, I may try it out with the Evil within, haven't played the DLC yet, which doesn't feature gunplay from what I understand. Build quality is awesome though.
  6. That's hardly day 1 though.
  7. You didn't laugh at swearwolves? Come on! :P I have Zootropia a chance, after that rotten tomatoes score (and comments here) Zootopolis (or whatever) is excellent, well worth the almost an hour bikeride, haha. It's funny, sweet. and sometimes exciting. Visually it's on par with Pixar nowadawys, I think.. Some of the environments looked lush, even though you didn't get to see a lot of most of them. But the tiny mice, haha. Judy Hopps running around in mice town was hilarious, and all those cute little cars.. Anyway, it's fun. Imagine film festival starting today (well it started yesterday, but this is the first day I'm going). I'll report back.
  8. I'll skip the last trailer of Captain America.. I've seen enough. Was tempted to check out the Dr. Strange teaser, but I'll see it eventually in the cinema.. So I'll skip it for now as well. There's been other Marvel news as well. Captain Marvel news is coming in the summer, with a casting announcement at the end of it I believe. I think I just saw Guardians of the Galaxy 3 confirmed, Inhumans seems to be delayed, and I think there were a few other casting announcements. And a few tidbits about Infinity wars.. The first part would properly introduce Thanos, and both parts apparently will feel different (as opposed to directly related I guess). Speculations about part 1 featuring mostly the B-team, and part 2 the A-team. They did seem to all but confirm a Guardians of the Galaxy crossover for Infinity wars though.
  9. One of the ideas I had years ago, for a new series, was one without a dedicated crew / setting, and multiple mini arcs within the season. A bit like the last season of Enterprise, but again, without a dedicated crew and setting. The problem with that is the cost of new sets every time.. This rumour pretty much solves that. I'd be all up for this.
  10. Tetra, and Tingle (and Ganondorf if they can get it to work). Probably don't have to confirm I just pre-ordered Zelda. Also up for pre-order (and just pre-ordered by me): Completing the trilogy.
  11. http://mikatan.goodsmile.info/en/2016/04/12/nendoroid-zelda-the-wind-waker-hd-ver/ Up for pre-order tomorrow. Simply amazing.
  12. I have bad memory, so I have no clue in general. I think I lurked a bit before posting.. But I don't know how I came across this site. Took a trip down (bad) memory lane to see what my first post was.. Apparently Smash Brothers compelled me to start posting here.
  13. I only watched season 5 last week, after finally receiving the blu-ray box (after almost a year of unsuccesful spoiler dodging). I have a little less than a 2 weeks reprieve from this spoiler dodging.. Hoping I'm more succesful this time. I may watch the trailer, but that'll be it. The #1 dad is funny though. But sad.
  14. D for Damager; Power to the people? You're missing your green colour. I think it was green.
  15. I'd like to comment on more of the titles mentioned by now, but I'll limit myself to Children of Men for now, and The prestige. Both are definitely up there. Though Children of Men, really, should be seen in a cinema if you get the chance. Unless you have an impressive home theatre yourself. I'd like to add the Wes Anderson films. I've seen most of them. I loved all of those. I haven't seen his first two features, but I'll make up for that. For the record, the films I've seen and recommend are The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou , The Darjeeling Limited, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Moonrise Kingdom, and the last one, The Grand Budapest Hotel.
  16. I believe ticket sales went up yesterday, not sure.. Though they've been selling tickets for Captain America marathons longer, I'm guessing a week, but the marathons don't have the Imax screening. There are no VIP seats here.. I just took the seats closest to the middle. On a sidenote, I'm still looking forward to X-men, although not nearly as much as Captain America. I've never seen a Bourne film in my life, and I suspect I'm going to keep it that way.
  17. I have not seen any of the Mega Mindy films either. I'm not part of the target audience of Mega Mindy, I'm taking a wild guess you're not either.. But you never know. Here's a trailer for the latest one (don't mistake this for me recommending something less well known :p). It's in Dutch, so that's already a problem for you.
  18. I have not seen Megamind, but here's a fun fact for you: Here in The Netherlands, Megamind was almost released on the same day as Mega Mindy. They probably changed it to avoid confusion.
  19. I've got my Imax tickets for the midnight screening of Captain America on Wednesday -> Thursday. Yay!
  20. That would be this one. I'm simply not hyped for Black Panther and Spider-man, but regardless, I'm optimistic they'll deliver and I'm seeing both in the cinema in any case. Black Panther to me is an unknown character but I'm not really familiar with Dr. Strange either. But the magic from Dr. Strange appeals to me more than the African setting of Black Panther. Spider-man.. I'm just a bit tired of the 3rd reboot, I wasn't done with the previous reboot, and actually liked Andrew Garfield a lot in the role. Black Panther and Spider-man are portrayed by actors I'm not familiar with, so that also doesn't get me hyped, unlike the total cast of Dr. Strange. That said, Marvel has pretty much God-like casting choices, they never disappointed so far me in that aspect. So in short, I may not be hyped for Black Panther and Spider-man (yet), but I'll see them by default, I'm too much invested in the MCU at this point, and although I didn't like all of it, I certainly liked most of it, so I'm looking forward to those films and all the others nonetheless, even if I'm not hyped.
  21. Land of mine (Under sandet) ♥♥♥♥♥ Danish film about German soldiers (boys) who are ordered to clear the Danish beaches of mines. Nice drama, often exciting (will it go off, won't it??), though pretty simple. Still good though. Spotlight ♥♥♥♥♥ Finally saw this. It's a bit like The big short in that it was a big Oscar contender which I found compelling despite the subject matter which in itself doesn't interest me. A bunch of Boston reporters investigate the scandals of Catholic priests abusing children. It's compelling because the film plays out like a detective mystery. And that cast was just awesome. Experimenter ♥♥♥♥♥ About the famous psychological experiment where people were led to believe they were administerings shock to people as punishment for getting questions wrong. The subject matter is extremely fascinating, but I didn't think the film worked as a whole. Partly of some style choices, partly because it raises a question which apparently hasn't been anwsered in the real world, which unfortunately also leads to a film which doesn't anwser that question. In little over a week I'll have my next film festival coming up, whoei! Though I have some other ("normal") films I'm seeing before that, Trumbo, Brooklyn, Mountains may depart amongst others.
  22. Years ago, I didn't have any interest in Iron Man, Captain America, talking raccoons and shrinking men, and all those other fuckers.. Look at me now.. I'm considering pre-ordering a $500 statue from Sideshow collectibles of a character I haven't even seen on screen yet. And Julius mentions the cast, which is simply droolworthy. He forgot Tilda Swinton though, shame on him. I'd fucking watch anything with that cast. In short, yes, I am excited for Dr. Strange. More so than Black Panther or Spider-man actually.
  23. I have an Audio Technica ATH-ES700 I'm pretty pleased with, but I'm no audiophile. http://www.head-fi.org/products/audio-technica-earsuit-portable-headphones-ath-es700 They did get uncomfortable when using them for longer periods.. Though I don't seem to have thast problem anymore, and I'm wearing glasses. And I don't think they're easy to find in Europe..? But that just makes them more exclusive .
  24. Saw it yesterday. This basically applies to me: I enjoyed it, but I had really low expectations. I made my peace with certain bad decisions months ago, and went in to see Batman and Superman in one film, and fight, and to get my first glimpse of Wonder Woman, and without the need to complain about things I'm already expecting to be bad. I thought the action was great, and I liked some other things, and objectively I can't call it a good film, but it simply met my expectations. It all comes down to how the DC cinematic universe is handled: poorly. I already knew that from the start, and obviously the film confirmed this for me.. All the prominent characters should have had a film before this ensemble film. Seeing a Batman film before this would have made this an even more enjoyable experience. I guess the film serves "adequately" as an introduction to Wonder Woman, but I'd also would have liked to see more of her. Some more Diana Prince scenes would've helped. The same goes for Lex Luthor. A lot of characters I felt little to nothing for, since I'm not yet invested in those characters. They should've removed most references to the Justice League and meta humans to make room for the characters that are actually in it. Justice League better be phenomenal, because at this point I have, well let's say 50% interest in The Flash (which is not because of this film), and 0 interest in Aquaman and that other dude. Where's Wonder Woman?
