Been keeping Prime around for watching Parks and Rec, but once that's done i'll be getting a Netflix sub back up and running. Seems i've been missing a few shows, yet to watch Bright.

Next wave of promotions swing around in that period, i'm looking to remain in the Civil Service as a whole. There were some interesting jobs coming up last year, and this year i'm more experienced and prepared.

Hit the nail on the head, many of us believe that exact same. I'm just biding my time, once February swings around i'll be job hunting in any spare moment i get.

Latest goings on. There are two teams doing the work i'm doing, one is in Swansea and one is in Cardiff. Based on where i live, it's logical i'm based in Cardiff. But, i get all my work from Swansea as they are the same grade as myself (and by that, it's the work they don't want to do and i don't get a say currently). I've asked to be more involved with the Swansea team and have made attempts to arrange a weekly tele-conference between me and the Swansea team. So far it's to no avail, and the one person who i was speaking to has left the company a few weeks ago. The Cardiff team is the more technical team, so they do the current work and the more challenging work (so they get paid more to do it). I made attempts to get a promotion over the years, but due to circumstances i'm not allowed to go for a promotion (and haven't been able to go for one in nearly 2 years). I'm part of this Cardiff team in all bar work (so that's HR stuff and performance). My work i do feeds into the Cardiff team as well. Late last year, the Cardiff team all got a shiny pre-Christmas "thank-you" which was basically a financial bonus for smashing targets..............i didn't get one, and i asked about that. I was told because Swansea didn't smash the target. Seeing as my work feeds into Cardiff, i thought this was slightly unfair as my hard work was not being recognized. And now, the Cardiff team are potentially being offered overtime (meaning more pay). Everyone bar me again that is, and again this is due to by work coming from Swansea. Again, i think (and those i spoke to, including my manager) thinks this isn't fair on me. But they are tied with the decision on the higher manager. Ah well.

Not sure with this one, but i again had some trouble with the 2 step verification security. The system wouldn't accept the codes generated from my app, but other codes worked on other sites including YouTube. Luckily the email to recover access to the account worked, so i had to disable it for now. And even with setting up a new 2 Step code, it wouldn't accept it.

I was thinking of learning Korean (or at the least, Google search) what was being said.

Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi (December 2017)
Jimbob replied to Dog-amoto's topic in General Chit Chat
Saw this last night, stayed spoiler free so i went in not knowing much about it. Overall, Last Jedi suffered from middle film issues. Felt like it could have been better if they paced it better in places. And i don't see why they had the need to make a new Trilogy, the one-off movie Rogue One was better as it was a 1 movie story. -
I think some people are surprised that an ad popped up, probably never happened before.

What number month has That's You been on PS+ now???? Otherwise in comparison to December, this is good

Had it turned off since i was able to turn it off.

Got spoiled by my girlfriend this year. Half my presents were from her. Not pictured. PSN giftcard, crate of beer and monies. 3DS not received as gift, it was just "there" First Christmas in quite sometime that i never received socks or deodrant sets. And apparantly, i have a few more presents coming from her Dad.

Deux Ex would be a decent addition to PS+
-
I'll wait for my annual PSN voucher and raid the sale again that way. Spent way too much money this month, luckily none on credit.

Finished a replay of Arkham Asylum, as good as ever. I still think this is the better of the 3 (well, technically 4) Arkham games. Close quarter combat, perfect stealth environments and a pretty decent combat system. I remember this game blew minds of everyone as people were not expecting this to be good.

I went the Dawnguard route, was enjoyable and more interesting the vampire route.

Dedided to pick up Guns, Gore and Canaloni in the recent PSN sale. Finished it today, not a bad game. Played the sequel at EGX this year, the first is pretty good. Basically it is exactly as the title says. Plenty of Guns, Gore and Canaloni. It's roughly 3 hours from start to finish, and i didn't get bored at all

The facebook community page we have for the town was (and probably still is) having an argument over the snow and school closures. I thought it was pretty funny reading some comments. Still, was an hour late in this morning due to the snow. Got up 6:30am, first thing i did was check the trains. The Cross Country train services were cancelled due to the weather and the Arriva at 8.30am was running late due to the weather. Luckily my manager was snowed in, so she at least understood why i was late.

The more i see of this game, the more interested and the more i want to play.

Yeah, i finished the Dawnguard DLC. I was getting fed up with the random Vampire attacks on NPC's, luckily none were killed that were essential for quest giving. The Dawnguard DLC was decent, a lot of fun and a good setting. Last time i was on Skyrim, i also just finished the Mages College questline and was mostly through the Thieves Guild. I have a week off at Christmas, so between Christmas TV and stuff i'll be playing Skyrim (luckily, Sophie is working so i'll get some uninterrupted gaming before she gets home)

Finished the main story to Assassin's Creed Origins. Full thoughts are in the Origins thread, but overall it was worth Ubi missing a year. It shows with vast improvements over previous iterations, especially combat and story.
-
Bump Just finished the main story (and the vast majority of the side-quests/stuff to do etc). Quite pleased Ubisoft took a year off Assassin's Creed, it shows with this game that is for sure. Story was interesting. Might polish off the remaining side stuff, but otherwise i'm done for now.

Not a bad piece of nostalgia. Wait a year or two, then we'll probably have a PS3 load screen for PS4.

Without a doubt, my Game of the Year is Horizon Zero Dawn. A game many (including myself) didn't have much hope for, considering Guerilla Games's last PS4 outing was Killzone Shadow Fall. Horizon blew the opinion away, i was amazed at just how good this game was when i played it. Normally, i start a game and leave it for a bit before picking it up and playing it through. Horizon was that one game i started and played right to the end without changing my game. And with the additional DLC in the form of The Frozen Wilds, which came out earlier this month. It's cemented this game as my Game of the Year for 2017. Other notable mentions this year include Sonic Mania Assassin's Creed Origins Breath of the Wild Snake Pass Little Nightmares Uncharted The Lost Legacy
