  1. Yeah, it’s yet another one of those games that caught my eye one day when browsing the eShop. Usually I just chuck ‘em on my Watch List for a rainy day, but I got such a good vibe from what I saw of Heroki that I actually pre-ordered it right away! Anyway, glad to see you’re also enjoying the game now. I’m up to the final world, looks like there are only 3 in total though so yeah, it’s not a long game by any stretch of the imagination, but it is a very nice and solidly built title for sure. Gorgeous visuals too, especially for a mobile game, not sure how much it was modified for the Switch port but it holds up really well on the big screen. Will certainly be keeping an eye on Picomy. Here’s a teaser trailer for their next project: Looks to be some sort of music creation/fishing game. Mobile only at the moment, but here’s hoping they also plan to bring it to Switch. Everyone go buy Heroki!
  2. Great vid @Dcubed, I'd definitely seen it before, but a loooong time ago and had forgotten just how entertaining it was, so thanks for sharing. Shigeru M-eye-amoto? Hilarious how that Zelda review has the low health warning sound throughout the entire thing. Also, 88% for sound on Super Mario Kart? W...T...F!? Gotta love even more hyper than usual young Craig Charles though, what a legend. Hehehe! Quite possibly the worst case of false advertising ever. And that Star Fox footage was more sped up than an old-school TV car chase scene!
  3. Cheers for the games @nekunando & @dazzybee. What do you lot think of Rumble? I get the feeling most people don’t like it, not as much as I do anyway.
  4. Sure thing, can jump on for a few games right now.
  5. I’ve played a few of their games on mobile where they’ve made some great stuff, including the fantastic Silly Sausage in Meat Land!: So it’s not too surprising to see them now delivering the goods on Switch. Anyway, Bomb Chicken is on my Watch List and I look forward to checking it out at some point.
  6. Possibly. Depends on how well the afternoon session goes.
  7. I’ll be on at 3pm.
  8. No probs. Just been in a game with @Nicktendo but the lag was real bad! Gonna restart my router, just incase it’s me. Back in a sec...
  9. Ok, heading on now...
  10. *checks 3DS eShop...* Oh wow. Nice!
  11. Will probably be on till around 22:30, 23:00 at the latest. Ah ok. How about Sunday evening?
  12. True. I’m surprised something like that has to exist in the first place though, can’t think of anything more distracting than having that atrocity surrounding the game screen. Well, I can actually... but even so, the only thing 4:3 content should be surrounded by on a 16:9 display, is black.
  13. Ooh! Awesome stuff. Cheers for the info. It’s pretty funny how even though the Switch is region free I’m yet to import a single game for it. Especially compared to my GBA and NDS collections, both of which have a substantial amount of imports. Then again it also goes to show just how much better the international release situation is these days.
  14. I’d heard there was going to be an English language option in the Asian release, but that’s about it.
  15. Oh man, please tell me that screen border on Sonic is optional.
  16. For those with Japanese eShop accounts, a demo is available for Taiko no Tatsujin Switch version.
  17. Wasn’t expecting to see Mario Paint on that vid, but was pleasantly surprised. Someone needs to point that guy in the direction of WarioWare D.I.Y. though, the spiritual sequel to the legendary Mario Paint.
  18. @londragon, this is out on the 27th of July in Europe. August 3rd is the US release date.
  19. Incredible number of titles. Although the list appears to have absolutely everything, even stuff like the YouTube app is on there. Anyway, since fixing up my XL I’ve really been getting back into 3DS again. Such a great system! Did some Monster Hunting the other day (noticed quite a few event quests that I hadn’t seen/played before) and have also been revisiting some of my eShop collection, played a bit of Weapon Shop de Omasse yesterday, man that game is as hilarious as ever. So looking forward to WarioWare Gold next week!
  20. I know Splatoon 2 is usually the post-MKLeague game on Thursday night, but with it being Splatfest this weekend anyway, I’m wondering if anyone is up for some Rocket League instead? Plus with the anniversary event currently running, it’s a good time to be playing. Oh, and we could finally get some N-E Rumble games going too! @Glen-i @Nicktendo @Vileplume2000 @nekunando @BowserBasher @Clownferret @Sméagol
  21. I think the main reason I dislike random battles is because they can really pull me out of the exploration aspect, killing the vibe of the game in the process. For example, exploring a creepy looking dungeon in an RPG is something I definitely enjoy, love it actually. Soaking up the surroundings and the atmosphere, it’s great stuff. When you really get into an experience like that, and then it’s abruptly interrupted by a random battle, the illusion is shattered. It quite literally rips you out of the game world and all of a sudden any connection you had to it is gone, momentarily at least. Also, (and this one is probably exclusive to me and my short attention span ) it often causes me to lose my bearings, so once the battle is over I’ve even forgotten which direction I was traveling in beforehand. Then I might be going back where I was coming from originally, and by the time I realise and chage direction again, 2 or 3 more random battles as punishment!
  22. Have to admit I wasn’t overly keen when I first started playing, the presentation is indeed pretty lacklustre. I’ve been sticking with it though and the game has grown on me a bit. But yeah, the pacing is all over the shop. There’s quite a lot to take in at first and the opening stages/sectors are ludicrously easy, same goes for battles against other player’s bots too. Eventually though the challenge picks up (both in the main missions and the bot battles) and there can actually be some pretty intense moments. Strategy then plays a more important role as well, meaning you need to keep a close eye on your shield, know when to back off, when to attack etc. It definitely improves over time, but the way the game is designed (or rather, how it’s been changed by the switch to F2P) makes it quite a gradual process. I can see myself playing for a while yet though, at least while progress is only hindered by timers and not the need for in-game currency.
  23. It’s always disappointing to discover a Switch game that doesn’t feature recording (I was annoyed it wasn’t in Mercenary Kings most recently) but especially for any newer releases since that system update. Surely all new games should include the feature now. Anyway, nice to see people are enjoying Octopath Traveller and that it’s doing well. I wish it was the type of game I could enjoy on a similar level, but as it stands I’m happy to wait for a potential sale or just skip it altogether.
  24. A patch is arriving on Friday, including a much needed Bowser Jr. nerf! Good to see them responding relatively quickly to some of the balancing problems this game clearly has. Gives me a bit more hope for its future now.
