  1. The latest reward on My Nintendo might be of interest to some of you: https://my.nintendo.com/rewards/53a28d0dea0d3175
  2. Such a shame. I really love the style/vibe they were going for with this game.
  3. Excellent choice, N-E.
  4. I'd be up for Salmon Run. Still need to get this month's exclusive item.
  5. Yeah, those gave me a good laugh too. And seeing as I’ve never used the new 3DS or 2DS I genuinely had no idea where the stylus or power buttons were located on them!
  6. I think it just feels really short if you’ve played the rest of the series, as although there are over 300 microgames in Gold, only 50 are brand new. Previous experience with WarioWare, Inc., Twisted and Touched also makes it much quicker to get through story mode, as you already know what to expect for the majority of games, so there’s basically no trial and error involved. Hell, I didn’t even know about the coin continue system as the option never appeared for me! What playtime have got on your activity log? I’m at around 25 hours, which already puts WarioWare Gold in 40th place for total time played on my 3DS, above stuff like Super Mario 3D Land and Kirby Planet Robobot. So yeah, I certainly wouldn’t say it’s really short, but rather that the more WarioWare titles you’ve already played, the shorter WarioWare Gold will probably feel. Also... time flies when you’re having fun!
  7. Indeed. Absolutely stunning visuals on this! Seems pretty fun too, if Smash wasn’t around the corner I probably would’ve checked it out, but yeah... a shame about the timing.
  8. Does this new feature where you can alter the appearance of your hunter’s outfit without changing the stats work for Prowlers too? Yeah, I remember. I’m also loving it, totally addicted! And real-time battles + cats, so very much my kind of RPG.
  9. Super Mario Kart, F-Zero, Pilotwings, Star Fox... But yeah, I think most people are very familiar with those. So my biggest recommendation would have to be The Legend of the Mystical Ninja! One of my personal favourites on the SNES, and a truly great game that more people should definitely play. The Japan exclusive sequels is also great, not to mention the N64 game, but that’s for another thread. Pop’n TwinBee is another nice game, a super colourful and fun shump, also from Konami. You basically can’t go wrong with anything from Konami on SNES, they were pretty much at the top of their game during that time. Just remembered Tiny Toon Adventures now I recall having a laugh with that game too. Godamn I miss the good old Konami...
  10. This is a great idea and I’d definitely like to get back into more retro gaming (other than SMK ), but It’s unlikely I’ll be able to stop myself from playing all the current/upcoming games in order to do so. I’ll soon be hooked on Yakuza Kiwami 2 and Monster Hunter, both of which will keep me very busy until Smash Ultimate arrives, at which point I imagine I won’t be playing anything else! Look forward to reading about everyone’s retro adventures though.
  11. Didn’t see this until now (been glued to Cat Quest ) but hopefully we can still get some 3DS hunts arranged before the Switch version lands.
  12. @Glen-i & @BowserBasher, I might not be able to make it tonight now, or (if I do get to join) have to suddenly drop out. So yeah, don’t bother waiting for me should that happen.
  13. The second part of the summer sale is now on. There’s 40% off Bomb Chicken, might have to nab that.
  14. Please please please...
  15. Excellent Direct! Although I couldn't help but be slightly disappointed with the first character reveal, purely because there are other Konami characters that I'd much rather be seeing in Smash. But yeah, they obviously gotta go with the more mainstream choice, can't blame them for that. I was cracking up at that! Probably the best moment of the entire Direct for me. Can't wait to see other characters trapped inside the bus. Hopefully Kapp'n can pick up multiple "passengers" as well, would be hilarious to see several of the larger ones all squashed together.
  16. Cool vid. I wish Great Jaggi was in there though, I used to love speed running that thing on MHTri. Think my record with one of the best hammers in the game was about 2 seconds! It literally took just 1 attack. Oh and Qurupeco. That was another one I always liked hunting as it looked ridiculous and did really funny moves. That should’ve been included too, would’ve loved to take on those monsters as a Prowler.
  17. The timing of this Direct (given it’s focused on Smash) seems pretty suspicious... Can you imagine if they’ve gone and brought the release date forward to coincide with the launch of the online service?! Super unlikely I know but hey, I can dream. Reckon we’ll be getting some kind of beta/demo though, similar to the 3DS version. And that could potentially drop in September.
  18. Even though it means having to do those bloody gathering quests again? But yeah, at least you’ll get a lot more playtime out of the game that way, and I bet you still “finish” it before the rest of us.
  19. Damn. Was hoping for a standard Direct. Nintendo, you do not need to sell Smash Bros. Ultimate to me anymore, ok? Seriously, enough is enough. Actually... I would like confirmation of custom stages.
  20. Reward from the latest gardening event: Aw... I wish it could be worn by K.K. Slider.
  21. With talk of who's getting the game I figured it'd be a good idea to get a list going, to help with planning future hunting sessions. The format is... Forum name - In-game name - Weapon of choice - Preferred online hunting time: I'm guessing everyone is planning to continue using their favourite weapons from Generations, but if not let me know so I can edit. Same goes for in-game names and online availability. Oh, and apologies to those I've missed, but let me know your info so I can add it. BTW, would anyone be up for jumping back into Generations in a couple of weeks time, for a few 3DS online sessions before the Switch game arrives? Might be nice to get some practice hunts done (for those of us that are a bit rusty ) in preparation for the switch to Switch. Let me know.
  22. I actually wasn't aware of being able to use coins to continue, that's a cool additional feature though. And although I did miss the little scenes that traditionally play out after a boss stage in WarioWare games, those little coin collecting microgames were a surprisingly fun replacement. But yeah, lots and lots of ways to obtain coins in the game. And they rack up pretty fast, especially once you've filled the Toy Room. I've maxed out the counter a few times already since then. Luckily there is always something to spend them on though, thanks to...
  23. I am getting it. I am not a total noob when it comes to Monster Hunter... but will occasionally do stuff that could perhaps make people wonder. I really want to get it digital (my entire Switch collection so far, other than Zelda and Labo is digital) but the fact this comes in at like 12 GB (WTF, Capcom? Did you optimise the game? ) and is at least a tenner more expensive than the physical version is putting me right off that idea.
  24. The developers of Pixel Action Heroes are giving away codes here (for US eShop only I believe): https://m.facebook.com/cypronia/ Pretty dodgy looking game, but I have to admit the fake movie characters gave me a chuckle.
