  1. Played a few games. It seems to run ok (other than some weird audio glitches) but I’m not a fan of how long it takes to get into the actual gameplay. The initial loading time is pretty long, then you’ve got to wait for it to load the match, and then there’s additional waiting on the character selection screen and again before each game commences! Doesn’t lend itself to the quick pick up and play nature of Switch really, which is a shame. Also, what’s the point of the gold you obtain? There appears to be hardly anything you can purchase with it in the shop, pretty much all items require the other currency, the one I’m guessing you need to buy with actual money from the eShop.
  2. Genuinely surprised to see complaints about the graphics! I think they’re absolutely fantastic. On the simple side, sure, but everything is so smooth (models seem really high poly actually) and the overall image quality is lovely. The textures also give environments and characters an almost 2D/hand-painted appearance. For me the visuals are a perfect evolution of the style from the original game, merged with the vibe from the Pokémon anime, a dream combo. Some of the gameplay choices that Game Freak have made with this might be questionable, but I just don’t understand how anyone can knock the presentation.
  3. Is it, Glen-i... Is it? Pretty sure I'm gonna be getting this game at launch now (against my better judgment) even though it clashes with Yakuza Kiwami 2 and is somewhat overpriced for those of us that played Generations. But yeah, revisiting Generations recently on 3DS was also a reminder of just how much I enjoy the game, it's easily my favourite version of Monster Hunter. The legendary hunting cat, Merengue will come out of retirement!!
  4. I played it on PC, yeah. Hilarious game. Nice to see it making the jump to Switch.
  5. From today's update: Genius!
  6. Yeah, it’s yet another one of those games that caught my eye one day when browsing the eShop. Usually I just chuck ‘em on my Watch List for a rainy day, but I got such a good vibe from what I saw of Heroki that I actually pre-ordered it right away! Anyway, glad to see you’re also enjoying the game now. I’m up to the final world, looks like there are only 3 in total though so yeah, it’s not a long game by any stretch of the imagination, but it is a very nice and solidly built title for sure. Gorgeous visuals too, especially for a mobile game, not sure how much it was modified for the Switch port but it holds up really well on the big screen. Will certainly be keeping an eye on Picomy. Here’s a teaser trailer for their next project: Looks to be some sort of music creation/fishing game. Mobile only at the moment, but here’s hoping they also plan to bring it to Switch. Everyone go buy Heroki!
  7. Great vid @Dcubed, I'd definitely seen it before, but a loooong time ago and had forgotten just how entertaining it was, so thanks for sharing. Shigeru M-eye-amoto? Hilarious how that Zelda review has the low health warning sound throughout the entire thing. Also, 88% for sound on Super Mario Kart? W...T...F!? Gotta love even more hyper than usual young Craig Charles though, what a legend. Hehehe! Quite possibly the worst case of false advertising ever. And that Star Fox footage was more sped up than an old-school TV car chase scene!
  8. Cheers for the games @nekunando & @dazzybee. What do you lot think of Rumble? I get the feeling most people don’t like it, not as much as I do anyway.
  9. Sure thing, can jump on for a few games right now.
  10. I’ve played a few of their games on mobile where they’ve made some great stuff, including the fantastic Silly Sausage in Meat Land!: So it’s not too surprising to see them now delivering the goods on Switch. Anyway, Bomb Chicken is on my Watch List and I look forward to checking it out at some point.
  11. Possibly. Depends on how well the afternoon session goes.
  12. I’ll be on at 3pm.
  13. No probs. Just been in a game with @Nicktendo but the lag was real bad! Gonna restart my router, just incase it’s me. Back in a sec...
  14. Ok, heading on now...
  15. *checks 3DS eShop...* Oh wow. Nice!
  16. Will probably be on till around 22:30, 23:00 at the latest. Ah ok. How about Sunday evening?
  17. True. I’m surprised something like that has to exist in the first place though, can’t think of anything more distracting than having that atrocity surrounding the game screen. Well, I can actually... but even so, the only thing 4:3 content should be surrounded by on a 16:9 display, is black.
  18. Ooh! Awesome stuff. Cheers for the info. It’s pretty funny how even though the Switch is region free I’m yet to import a single game for it. Especially compared to my GBA and NDS collections, both of which have a substantial amount of imports. Then again it also goes to show just how much better the international release situation is these days.
  19. I’d heard there was going to be an English language option in the Asian release, but that’s about it.
  20. Oh man, please tell me that screen border on Sonic is optional.
  21. For those with Japanese eShop accounts, a demo is available for Taiko no Tatsujin Switch version.
  22. Wasn’t expecting to see Mario Paint on that vid, but was pleasantly surprised. Someone needs to point that guy in the direction of WarioWare D.I.Y. though, the spiritual sequel to the legendary Mario Paint.
  23. @londragon, this is out on the 27th of July in Europe. August 3rd is the US release date.
  24. Incredible number of titles. Although the list appears to have absolutely everything, even stuff like the YouTube app is on there. Anyway, since fixing up my XL I’ve really been getting back into 3DS again. Such a great system! Did some Monster Hunting the other day (noticed quite a few event quests that I hadn’t seen/played before) and have also been revisiting some of my eShop collection, played a bit of Weapon Shop de Omasse yesterday, man that game is as hilarious as ever. So looking forward to WarioWare Gold next week!
  25. I know Splatoon 2 is usually the post-MKLeague game on Thursday night, but with it being Splatfest this weekend anyway, I’m wondering if anyone is up for some Rocket League instead? Plus with the anniversary event currently running, it’s a good time to be playing. Oh, and we could finally get some N-E Rumble games going too! @Glen-i @Nicktendo @Vileplume2000 @nekunando @BowserBasher @Clownferret @Sméagol
