Should be an option to toggle in your wireless router’s settings. Keep in mind however that some devices cannot connect to a 5GHz signal, it’s generally just older/cheaper phones and tablets, although I also realised recently that the PS4 can’t either. Anyway, run the Switch’s internet test while on 2.4GHz wi-fi, take note of the results, and then if you can activate 5GHz, run the test again on that to see the difference. Chances are you’ll get at least double the download speed, and potentially 3 or 4 times more!

Not sure if it’s cool to vote without actually taking part, but if so, I’d obviously vote for #3 and do a favor to you lot that have never played it before. TBH it could be a case of you had to be there (i.e. experienced it back in the day) but having said that, I played through it again a couple of years ago and although it’s difficult for me to be objective when it comes to this game (and the Mystical Ninja franchise in general ) I do believe it still holds up very well indeed. As do all of the titles in @S.C.G’s selection actually. So yeah, you’re in for a good time no matter what gets picked.

It’s possible to alleviate the problem in some less severe cases by using compressed air (have done this a few times with mine) but once they’re really knackered then the only options are to get the sticks replaced, or purchase new Joy-Con. I used my launch day Joy-Cons exclusively up until recently, when I purchased an 8bitdo adapter. Now I have the option of using many other controllers on my Switch, including the Wii U Pro and DS4 (both of which have awesome analog sticks ). Also got my GCN adapter hooked up and ready for Smash Bros., so yeah, will probably be using the Joy-Con only when playing in portable mode from now on. Would be annoying if I had to continue using them as my main docked controller option too though.

I like how the online co-op mode can be played with traditional controls now. Had a few goes on it yesterday and unlocked Blue Yoshi. Teaming up with randoms can be interesting though... as always. In one of the games a player decided not to serve the ball when their turn came around, so it was just 30 seconds of the rest of us taunting them until the inevitable disconnection. Anyway, it’s nice to see this game getting more updates.

Had a go on the demo. Think this is massively overpriced for what it is though, essentially just 1 mode from Wii Fit. It plays well enough, although you can still trick the motion controls into registering any type of punch with even the slightest movement of the Joy-Cons. Shame. If this was half the price and didn’t feature a soundtrack made of pure cheese then I might have considered it.

Go easy on the Joy-Con analog sticks, they can be a bit flaky and tend to suffer from drifting issues after a while. I’d definitely recommend an alternative/more robust controller option for more intense games, especially Smash Bros. Another weakness to the Switch can be its Wi-Fi signal strength, so if you’re not going to be using an Ethernet adapter, then try to use the 5GHz frequency instead of 2.4GHz, it can make a huge difference in performance. Anyway, congrats on the purchase and I hope you enjoy your Switch!

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe League 2018 (Final results now in)

That right there is why I should never try to multitask. -

Was too late for me I’m afraid, I just can’t hack late-night gaming sessions anymore... #TooOldForThisShit If you’re ever going to be about between 8-10:30 pm though, then I’m pretty much always available and up for some hunting, until Smash arrives that is. I’ve actually started using Dual Blades recently, so it could be fun to team up at some point, before everyone drops Monster Hunter harder than a Uragaan drops his chin! And as a Dual Blade pro, perhaps you could give me some pointers too. BTW, @Glen-i, did you take on the EX Hellblade yet? If it’s anything like the EX DeadEye, then it’s just a giant version of the monster with a massive amount of HP. Definitely doable solo though, with patience.

I guess one positive of the inevitable all-digital future could be an end to situations like this. Everyone (bar press) will get access to the game at exactly the same time, i.e. the official release date. Last time I got really annoyed by a game breaking the street date was MK8 on Wii U, seeing soooo many people playing that early did my head in as I was so damn hyped for it. Still hyped for Smash Ultimate of course, but not fussed that some are already playing it. Just gonna avoid potential spoilers as much as possible and enjoy the game on launch day.

Yeah, that boss battle music is just insane! Love it. Here’s the old thread for typing adventure if anyone wants a trip down memory lane: I’m actually tempted to dig up my DS and have another go on this. Although it blatantly doesn’t help... I’m still awful at typing.

Wow! You jammy git. -
We were really close last time, hopefully we can get it done for you today after MK. But yeah, it’d be a miracle to get a G5 special permit quest done with randoms.

I’m up for some post-Kart hunting. Not played this since upgrading my SD card the other day, but hopefully all of the downloadable quests have made the transfer safely.

I’ll go for Iggy! -
There are currently some pretty decent deals on micro SD cards over at Amazon, I may have to finally upgrade to 200 GB.

Getting increasingly tempted to buy this game right now.

The only race I didn’t play was dragon driftway (got disconnected before the race started) I managed to reconnect for mount Wario. I don’t mind however you do the score. -
Have setup a hub, usual password.

Got disconnected just before the dragon driftway race. -
Sure thing, I be happy to help out with anything. And it’s always fun hunting alongside Dino Chav.

I finally got my hands on one of those 8bitdo thingys, so can now use various other controllers on my Switch. Have been testing it with a Wii U Pro Controller so far, and it works very well indeed. Takes a bit of getting used to the face buttons being underneath the right stick again, but it’s just nice to have the option of playing with non-messed up analog sticks, since the ones on my Joy-Cons have been dodgy for ages now.

I am loving the Aliens table. Hardly played the other 2 that come with that pack, as Aliens is just so much fun.

Hehehe, congrats! How about going for one of the Special permit monsters? It’s a great challenge to reach and then clear an EX quest, plus you can nab some cool gear in the process. I’m thinking about targeting another one, now that I’m done with Deadeye. Oh, and have you hunted Fatalis yet? I took a brief look at the quest a while back (solo, and got destroyed ) so it’s still on my to hunt list, if you’re up taking it on. Anyway, I should be around for a bit after the MK League tonight if anyone’s hunting then.
