  1. The sound design in Scram Kitty is amazing! Loving the laser/enemy SFX "pew pew mew mew" the lo-fi digitized voice when taking damage, and the music... The music is just superb. Perhaps I should've waited until the update arrived to start playing this. Nah, I'm actually enjoying the difficulty level that the current version has to offer. I imagine quite a few GamePads have been destroyed while playing this game though... those scaredy cats. Hero-of-Time, I know you weren't planning to play it right away, but did you still download this?
  2. Downloaded this today. Only played the first few stages but I'm liking it so far. :awesome: The gameplay is kind of weird at first. I reckon the character movement is definitely going to take me a while to master, but already noticed an improvement from when I started playing. Making effective use of the double jump/gravity mechanic can be really satisfying! Already found the game to be quite challenging too, even on the early stages! So yeah, glad I got this in the end. Anyone that's interested in it but yet to download should do so now while it's half price! : peace:
  3. I thought you'd enjoy that kind of thing, being a fan of Dark Souls.
  4. I spotted you were playing a JPN title earlier on when I was starting up Ni No Kuni. Anyway, cheers for the info. : peace:
  5. Updated the drought indicator on the first post. Check out what Reggie gets up to when there aren't any video games available.
  6. I definitely wouldn't mind another Super Princess Peach game, first one was great. Wonder how well it sold though... Anyway, here's a Peachy pic: You must have JavaScript enabled on your device to view Miiverse posts that have been embedded in a website. View post in Miiverse : peace:
  7. The GamePad could definitely be better. Here's my vision of an improved GamePad (in case anyone missed it the first time): Matte finish! No more fingerprints. Side by side with the fat GamePad (screen size is identical on both): No battery indicator either, would be built into the Home button: :awesome:
  8. Whatever you say, amigo.
  9. It really is insane when you think about it. Nintendo game save files were actually more functional and secure two generations ago!: Mental.
  10. Probably no 3D OutRun for us this year then...
  11. Awesome! Good luck man. : peace:
  12. While I get where you're coming from, I do also think there are a few examples where that might not necessarily be the case. I mean although something like Fruit Ninja would definitely feel better if played with a stylus, simultaneous swipes would no longer be possible which is an integral part of the gameplay. Better examples would be Smash Hit and School Idol Festival. Those games use multi-touch in way that I don't think could transition to a traditional control scheme. Not sure if you've played either of those, but in Smash Hit: you can shoot up to 4 balls simultaneously wherever you touch the screen. This becomes a key part of the gameplay too, as very often targets will be split, and the on-rails nature of the game requires you to shoot multiple targets all at the same time. And in School Idol Festival: there are 9 circles on screen that you need to tap in time with the music. Standard rhythm game stuff at first, but higher difficulty levels see you needing to hit 2 at once plus some that need to be held down for a certain duration. The game then mixes all of these input styles together, so you'll sometimes need to be holding down 1 while tapping multiple other circles! The pace the game runs at would make it impossible with any traditional controller. But having said that... some nutter made this: and while I bet playing the game with that would be nice, it is somewhat OTT. I'd be interested to see if you think there's any way those particular games could work better on a different platform though, other than building custom controllers of course. : peace:
  13. Mine wasn't. Voted for the one with the Mustard & Ketchup chefs. Anyone else think the whole competition process is a bit cumbersome? It's nice how they've made it fit in with the rest of the game (having Chibi vote from an exhibition room) but it could do with being streamlined I reckon.
  14. Spotted this on NeoGaf (nothing to do with Wii U, not like that's anything new for this thread anyway ) it's a livestream of a fish playing Pokémon Red: http://www.twitch.tv/fishplayspokemon
  15. I hope so. And with Akira Fujiwara composing again. Dat soundtrack...
  16. GIFs speak louder than words:
  17. @dazzybee, is this shocking accusation true? Oh, and is Scram Kitty worth checking out? : peace:
  18. I'd also like to hear opinions on Scram Kitty, same reason (minus the unpacking the Wii U thing ).
  19. You'd assume, yeah. But I wouldn't put it past Nintendo to forget about Europe again.
  20. Hilarious. It's just so wrong that it somehow ends up being right. Loving the sound of the rest of this update too. The best game on Wii U just got even better. :awesome: Here's hoping we get the update soon in Europe, and not 2015.
  21. You mean limited edition? If so, then it's also available from the official Nintendo store:http://store.nintendo.co.uk/wii-u-game/hyrule-warriors-limited-edition-pack/10984554.html I'm not getting the LE of this, but if I was I'd definitely go with the Nintendo store. I didn't get my MK8 LE from there in time for launch, but they sent me a free download code for the game, which was pretty damn awesome of them. I'm assuming they don't want to be doing that kind of thing again, so you're probably guaranteed launch day delivery now.
  22. Would I buy mobile Nintendo games? No, because you can't buy something that doesn't exist/probably never will. But IF they did (and that's a big if) then sure, I'd check 'em out. I know a lot of gamers really dislike the mobile game scene, and I can totally see why as it's created this situation where people now expect titles to be free or incredibly cheap, and in the process pretty much destroyed the traditional handheld gaming market. But not all mobile games are "free" throwaway pieces of crap, I've come across some fine examples of mobile games done right, stuff like the aforementioned Temple Run (well I've only played the sequel but I imagine they're more or less the same ), Jetpack Joyride, Smash Hit, dEXTRIS, Fruit Ninja, 8 Ball Pool, School Idol Festival, jukebeat, Bike Baron, Parashoot Stan... They're all good fun and all control perfectly using touch or tilt controls. At the end of the day, if a game is well designed around the hardware that's all that counts. There are a shitload of mobile games out there that are absolutely terrible and try to mimic traditional controls using touch, but there are also those like the ones I mentioned above, which have been properly designed to work with simple controls. I have no doubt that Nintendo could create excellent mobile titles (after all they're the best videogame developer in the world) but it just doesn't fit in with their ethos. Chances of Nintendo abandoning hardware development and doing a SEGA are simply microscopic. So yeah, anyone that enjoys Nintendo's games and wants to continue playing them is just going to have to purchase their systems or go without.
  23. Isn't it just his other costumes that are the DLC?
  24. Someone who loves getting on the pallet. That still in this version?
