  1. The main thing is how you need to collect powers/special moves which can then be used in combat, but also help traverse the game world and allow access to new locations. There is some backtracking involved if you want to look for items/100% areas, but it's not really a requirement to beat the game. The maps aren't that complex either and the amount of items to collect is much less than your typical Metroid too. It's just a really well made and fun game to play.
  2. Hit the 10 hour mark on my playthrough of Gold Edition last night. Wanted to collect everything and make it to 100% before heading to the final boss, but some of the challenges in El Infierno are way too tough. Looks like I'm gonna have to accept 91% overall completion and try to beat the game. Some more pics: Mario Bros. luchadores, Mega Man brickwork and ERROR. This game is just packed with awesome.
  3. The guy wearing the cheque shirt in that IGN vid is such a donut. In fact they're all donuts. The only one I can just about tolerate is the German dude, as he at least appears to have some common sense. But yeah, you can't spell IGNorance without it...
  4. Oooh... Interesting. Dcubed has a great track record with these kind of predictions though, so I must say I'm now kind of worried about Smash for Wii U. It's still going to be useable with MK8 and Captain Toad, so it won't be useless. But even so, they definitely don't want to be delaying Smash.
  5. Ridiculous. If Tingle doesn't make the cut now I'm gonna be so pissed off.
  6. Apparently not. Much to my annoyance. I swear we wouldn't have so many/such bad droughts if they did spread out releases in a more sensible manner.
  7. My bad, I read your post as "I never used Colours 3D'" rather than "I never used Colours 3D's 3D feature". Yeah, it's certainly not an easy thing to do, especially with a realistic style. But I have seen some pretty awesome examples in the gallery before.
  8. For me it's simply all over the place full stop. It's just even more frustrating when it happens while playing online as it's not possible to stop to "recalibrate".
  9. Well, 3 months really. Hyrule Warriors is looking to be pretty rad. Either way, far too big a gap... AGAIN! Dunno about costing nothing to make, next to nothing maybe. But yeah, and they could literally fart that kind of stuff out. Really don't get why they don't do it. Oh well, back to PS3/PC gaming I go...
  10. So I believe there are actually 3 versions of Guacamelee. The original PS3/Vita game, the PC/Steam port (Gold Edition) and the one getting released this week on Wii U, PS4 and XBONE. From the Drinkbox Studios website: New Features for the Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition Include: Expanded Story: An expanded version of the game that includes DLC content from the original New Game Areas: Players will ride boats through the Canal of Flowers to save a besieged fishing town, and avoid lava as they climb through the fiery Volcano New Boss: Face off against The Trio of Death, a three-headed skeleton that lives in the Volcano, helping the evil Carlos Calaca build his skeleton armies New Abilities: Maximize destruction with the powerful new INTENSO combat mode. Plus: Chicken Bombs and Independent Dimension Swapping New Enemies: Lethal new elite-class enemies that want to chokeslam luchadores to sleep Support for multiple save slots Dual currency system that supports permanent item unlocks One feature which I believe is exclusive to the PC (not entirely sure though) is the ability to play the game with user-created custom costumes. :awesome: I've done most of my playthrough using this: That would have been a great feature for the Wii U, but the devs would've needed to add some kind of costume editor (as the custom costumes have to be made using Adobe Flash on PC) and I don't think they have.
  11. Wow.Trust me, this game is definitely worth checking out. Even more so if you like a challenge, which I believe you do.
  12. MK8 is doing so well under the circumstances. Still can't believe Nintendo aren't going to capitalise on that momentum though.
  13. Indeed. Love that dig at EA too. What did you make of it? Also... STC Edition for free!? Sweet. The game does get pretty brutal, but don't give up muchacho! Having said that, I'm yet to tackle the final boss, so I might have to join you yet.
  14. Colors 3D gives you 5 layers to draw on, each with their own stereoscopic depth. So it's possible to create some really nice 3D effects. :awesome: Nice. And yeah, colouring pencils can be used in this version too.
  15. Well, at least you got Shovel Knight to keep you going. This is such a great time for indie games. Some Guacamelee screens:
  16. Wasn't really that impressed with Boxing and Baseball. And the randomness of Motion+ continues to hamper my enjoyment of this title. So yeah, I'll be uninstalling it now to get some fridge space back, but will keep an eye out for any deals on the retail version. If it drops to under 20 quid I'll probably bite, although the chances of that happening are highly unlikely.
  17. Out this week on Wii U! This game really caught my eye during the E3 Treehouse stream, literally couldn't wait for it to come out so I'm currently playing through the PC version, and it's absolutely awesome! It's the only thing stopping me from downloading Shovel Knight at the moment. Anyone who hasn't played it already should seriously consider picking up Super Turbo Championship Edition, hell I'm tempted to and I haven't even finished the original edition yet. Guacamelee is packed with Metroid and Zelda references, and the gameplay is top-notch. Platforming is great, combat is nice and fast (also varied thanks to unlockable special moves) and there's quite a bit of exploration to be done as well. :awesome: Some of the dimension swapping platforming sections are insanely difficult, but super rewarding once you finally get through 'em. : peace:
  18. Nice. Let's test it with a classic: You must have JavaScript enabled on your device to view Miiverse posts that have been embedded in a website. View post in Miiverse
  19. My review: http://www.n-europe.com/reviews/pokemon-art-academy : peace:
  20. Well there's this absolute classic for a start: One of the best N64 games, right up there with SM64 and OoT. And of course Eledees on Wii: But they are indeed a shadow of what they were during the 16-bit era. I wouldn't be fussed, but they're sitting on such great IPs... Mystical Ninja, TwinBee, Contra, Parodius, Eledees, Bomerman, Kororinpa... Much worse than Capcom in that regard.
  21. And Konami. Hell they've lost it even worse than Capcom I reckon!
  22. I reckon you might be, it's 200 MB according to the Steam store page. Almost certain it's because of translation. Either way, the Nintendo versions are definitely gonna suffer a bit as a result. Yep, it's English only. If I do cave in and get it for PC, I'll be using a Wii U Pro Controller, so at least it'll still kind of feel like playing it on Wii U.
  23. Guess you'd probably need to delete the other Mii first then, not entirely sure though as I never encountered that situation in my game.
  24. Hell yeah! Dem sounds.
  25. You mean why Europe isn't getting it on Wii U or 3DS yet, as it'll be available on Steam in a couple of days time. I'd really like to play this on Wii U, but it's going to be pretty difficult to resist just getting it for PC instead now.
