I've never understood why Sonic has a (race) car in the first place.

Didn't Sega state that it wasn't Sonic Racing?? I enjoyed Transformed when I played it on Xbox so will look further into this when it comes out.

Why? We all knew they wouldn't be able to make a brand new Pokémon game (welll, a gen 8 at least) in the time from SM to now, buy by having this, they get money for making the next game. Furthermore, since Pokémon Gen 8 is releasing in a bit more than a year, they won't have time to completely revamp the game based on the success of LGPE.

It's healthy to try something new once in a while. Surely, they won't take in the bad concepts and the main games may actually benefit from getting some new inputs while keeping the competitive battling intact. Isn't that what you enjoy about Pokémon anyway? If they don't touch the battle mechanics (too much), then it shouldn't matter much, or? And really, you like battling the wild Pokémon? I'd rather that you could just battle the trainers whenever you wanted (scaled to your level of course) and then just catching the damn monsters in another way than having to battle and possibly KO a Pokémon. It doesn't really make sense. I'm trying to tell you to stop worrying about something that may or may not happen until you know what is going to happen. Then you may worry or be mad.

Honestly, I don't see why some are so furious about this. A real game is coming, this is just a step into the series for newcomers. It was always dubious how Game Freak would be able to make a totally new Pokémon game in such a short time since (U)S(U)M but this proves to be a good middle ground. It doesn't (necessarily) make the core series bad - they don't have to adopt every mechanic from LGPE and thus, we still now nothing about the next entries.

Pokémon Squarepants Rumble is my first thought. Will try it out but I don't think it's for me.

I'm torn on it. I've been catching up (and trying to make my son sleep!) this morning. I like the look of the games, and battling wild Pokémon has always been a bit weird and time consuming (if the Pokémon has fainted, why isn't it easier to catch then??) so I won't miss that so much but I don't like there only being the first 151 Pokémon as they are more or less boring by now. I play Pokémon for the adventure and not the competition, and in that regard, I think it looks alright. I'll probably want to give it a go but my main view is that this is for the younger generation, the new players. Which is fine.

Meh. I think it looks generic. Will probably watch it on Netflix as my wife likes Pooh. I don't like the look of Pooh and Tigger. The rest look much better. The last line was genius, though.

I still need to find that as well. I'm hoping it comes in an egg because I don't go to the tougher raids due to lack of time when they are there.

I watched an episode of Arrow season 5 yesterday to start up again - I think it was episode 16, where Green Arrow learned the identity of Prometheus. I'm not going to watch the rest of the season, just the two last episodes. It is painfully bad. The fights were bad, the bad guy is boring, the team is terrible, Green Arrow is weak. I cannot see how this show was allowed to continue for another season.

I'm playing Battle Chasers: Nightwar at the moment, about 8 hours into the game and have just met my fourth potential party member. It's a good game overall, it ticks the right boxes of the genre and the battles are mostly enjoyable. However, I think the pace of the game is too slow, you move around slowly both in the overworld and in the dungeons, the battles are slow-ish, the loading screens are slow, and you have to have characters actively in the party and in battles to level them up - something I really dislike nowadays due to time constraints in general. That's my main criticism but it drains me a bit when playing the game. Also, the text is small in handheld mode which makes it harder to play for a longer period of time. I have played the first two or three dungeons on Hard but I have also died a couple of times (bleeding takes so much more damage from me than it does from my enemies - why??) but overall the difficulty suits me fine.

Just tried the demo. It seems like a fun and surprisingly deep game with a lot of costumisation in it. I played it with the pro contorller - it seems to be a good fit here as using your fingers directly on the screen could potentially obstruct your view, I reckon. It may be a bit less precise but precision is not as needed as speed and the controller gives you plenty of speed. The gameplay seems fun and addictive, it's fun and fast-paced. It's not hard to start off (got three starts and B-S ranks in the demo levels) but I think it's going to become really hard later on when your enemies start using sprites (as well). However, I think the price is a bit too high for what it is. It reminds me of both Pocket Card Jockey for the weirdness and Puyo Puyo Tetris for the presentation and overall quality of the game.

Finally caught Mew! Some of the tasks were a bit too long and tiresome while others were fine and fun. It's a good addition to the game overall. Hope they add Celebi soon.

Pokémon Let's GO Vacation!

That's really awesome, should have been made years ago. However, how much gear do you have to buy in order for it to work with you? Seemed to be quite the elaborate setup.

Finally finished The Flash season 3 on Netflix now. I have been holding out for it because my wife and I stopped watching at about episode 10 and she said she wanted to watch the rest but it sorta never happened. Now I'll just pretend to not have seen it - works for me. I liked that season better than season 2 but man, I'm glad the next villain is not a speedster. Gets kinda boring - also, the intro needs changing every season ("I'm the fastest man alive" - yeah, right). I also found that there were quite a few filler episodes - I skipped episode 17 (the musical) entirely and half-watched episode 22 (the memory loss). Now I'll do the same with Arrow season 5 although I am less inclined to do so as I didn't really enjoy it - Green Arrow has because such a wimp since getting so many side-kicks.

I'm on paternity leave at the moment and it has given me more time to exercise - partly. I do some bodyweight exercising a couple of times a week at home when my son's sleeping. This means a lot of burpees as they are about the best way to get my pulse raising without needing equipment or much space. Squats, lunges and sit-ups work as well but don't raise my pulse as much as burpees. I have considered using my son as a weight sometimes but that means he has to be awake and that would really not work for the long run. When my wife gets home from work, I can go to the gym or for a run. I've been running a bit more these days (the weather is really great so I want to). Mostly 4-5 km, did a 4.8 km in at most 21 minutes - I don't time my runs but looks at the clock when leaving and when returning.

I seem to remember that at some point somebody mentioned the games being free for a month and then you could buy the games afterwards if you'd want to play them more. Is that a relic of the past or could this still be true?

Almost every trailer for this has been so boring to watch. But luckily we know the game is great beyond belief so we don't have to watch the trailers.

I ordered that yesterday and it'll be here tomorrow. It gets decent reviews and it looks to be just up my alley so I hope I'll enjoy it.

Well, I was of course joking seeing as we have three sword-users from FE in Smash already that aren't that unique. Perosnally, I don't need any more characeters from FE. At all.

Plus, it's not like an FE character is totally unique. They could create the character and give it the skin later when FE is revealed.
