The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom (26th September 2024)
MindFreak replied to Julius's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Even though I still miss a few things - a couple of echoes, the last stamp card, some heart pieces and a few accessories, I think I'm done with the game. I feel like I've seen the most important stuff now and 100 %-ing the game won't make me more happy with it. I had a blast with the game, especially after getting some good combat-echoes, and I think incorporating Zelda into a game with Link seems like the next logical step. -
Yeah. But I bet it would print more money at half the price.
-
Way too expensive. Had it been one third or half the price, it would have been a fun gimmick to buy as a present for someone nerdy. I wonder why they set the price so high, it can't have been that expensive for them to develop. Also, it can be updated to version 2.0.0:

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom (26th September 2024)

I find that combat got better when you got some better echoes that attacks faster or are stronger so that combat does not take so long. That's when I started to enjoy combat, but yeah, given how much of a pain in the ass combat actually is, there's a surprising amount of combat in the game! But it wouldn't be a Zelda-game without monsters, I guess, and again, standing away from the chaos is the role of the sorcerer in many RPGs, so it makes sense with Zelda. It's the other parts of the game that makes it so enjoyable. -

Finished the game yesterday. 16 hearts in total, so still a few PoHs left to find. I also haven't done many side quests but will need to use a guide to find the few ones worth doing. The final boss fight was good and the story revelations here felt good, it certainly gives some indications as to where this game stands on the timeline. One thing, though, during the final fight I very much felt like a bystander, just summoning Echoes and keeping out of harm's way. I guess that's the role for healers and magic users in fights but it felt a bit underwhelming. I haven't seen how much time I spent on the game but I guess it's about 20 hours to reach this point. -

That's true. It just feels incredibly underwhelming to solve a puzzle and only get 20 rupees or a few ingredients that you hardly need more of. Then in some random chest that require next to no effort, you get 100 rupees. Speaking of smoothies, there is no way to farm specific ingredients, is there? -

I'm getting a bit pissed off by the chests in this game. The rewards are ridiculously bad most of the time. Also finding there to be a bit too much fighting in the game compared to how troublesome battling is. I got the sword moblin which is pretty good and I have upgraded Swordfighter form to be quite efficient but still... Otherwise enjoying the game. I'm at the fourth dungeon now. It's a good puzzle game and the Zelda-skin is really nice. -

I did that as well, for the same reason. Finished it this afternoon, it was enjoyable. I still think fighting enemies is unforcomfortable, in the way that I call an echo that just attacks a lot. There is no single right echo for fighting yet, so having multiple enemies attacking me is a bit stressful. -

Oh, jeez, completely forgot about that move. Stupid me. -

Alright, I'm stuck in the first dungeon. There's a room with statues, one with a shield, and a locked door. Am I missing an Echo to do something here? -

Yeah, that quick menu is... Not so quick after just a few Echoes. I'm two hours in and already have like 14 Echoes. They really should have put creatures in a separate button. -
Nonono, this is it:

Not one for the cinema but will definitely watch it once it hits streaming. It looks fun enough.

Isn't that just snoring sounds?

How would one attach those JoyCons? It seems like you need to plug something into them but you can't do that, if you have to slide them down on the sides. And using magnets would surely hold them together very well?

Teslagrad 2 is currently 90 % off on eShop. Just saying. Hogwarts Legacy is 70 % off. Might actually pick that up.

After finishing The Perfect Couple on Netflix this week, my wife and I proceeded to try out The Curse. We watched the first episode yesterday but I don't think we are convinced about the story and premise. There's something incredibly awkward about it. Will watch episode two to see how it goes but if that does not pique our interest further, I think we'll drop it in favor of something like Shogun.
-
Wow. Yeah. That does not bode well. My son is of course thrilled about it... So they will probably sell at least two tickets.
-
That actually looks pretty darn good. Will definitely take my oldest son to the cinema to watch this. He was really excited when I showed him the trailer.

Found this for kind of cheap for pre-order - about £77. So I couldn't resist and pre-ordered it.

I haven't followed the game intensely but I haven't seen those gameplay segments before, hence being surprised by them. I've only seen the 2D sidescrolling bits before. -

The top down 2D style with characters following the lead character. Or it's perhaps more a Zelda-like here, with it not being turn based battles but rather action based. -

How many styles does this game have? This seems like an old school RPG now but the older trailer I saw showed lots of 3D and 2D blending action and platforming. Nice to know it's coming soon but will probably not get it right away. It looks cool but I'm not quite convinced that it'll actually be fun to play. -
It's about 1200 pieces, the Piranha plant is 540. So it will be more expensive but about £100 does seem right.

Looks nice but will not pick it up. I go for sets that my son can play a bit with. Unless I find it cheap if course
