Best Open World City Game I knew open world would raise it's boring head sooner or later and I was ready for it, but then you throw that city curve ball and I started panicking. "Was I really going to have to say L.A. Noire?" A game that I think would be miles better if they cut the open-world bloat out of it. But then... Yeah, I'm going with Crazy Taxi. Phew... That was close. Best 2D Platformer There's so many good ones, but the one I'm gonna go with is the one that has provided the most entertainment/hilarity. New Super Mario Bros Wii is the pinnacle of 2D Mario level design, an absolute masterpiece that boasts a perfect difficulty curve and a moveset that always feels good to master. Mario has never felt more acrobatic. And then you throw it all out of the window when you bring other people into the mix. Doesn't matter how good you are, someone will accidently (or not) jump on your head and inadvertently kill you. Whatever genius decided that each player can't occupy the same space in multiplayer needs a raise. It is a constant source of hilarity that never gets old.

Super Mario Maker 2 challenge - June challenge has started!
Glen-i replied to Sméagol's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I'm glad I decided to reduce the amount of coins you needed from 6 now. Because I obviously wanted to have 6 different rooms to match the blatant reference I was making, but the lack of checkpoints made me change my mind after a bit. So I decided to handwave it by blaming it on "a lack of budget" in the description. -
If I went with PMD: Explorers for music, that would have been the song I picked. You do realise that you're basically arguing that I should change my answer to PMD: Explorers of Sky? OK, not quite really bad, but it's defo close. Thankfully, those users are also men of culture. Sticking with Faces of Evil, mind.

Yeah, not bad. Spent most of the day sleeping because of my crippling insomnia, but it was a good 7 hours. Then I uploaded my Mario Maker level for this month's N-E challenge. Although I think I shot myself in the foot a bit by suggesting the clear goal of collecting coins. Anyway, back home, gonna get some takeaway Pizza and carry on with Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse.

I have to admit, it's been fascinating watching case after case of sexual harassment in the industry being exposed over the past few weeks. You know, in the kind of way that a continuous chain of cars crashing would no doubt draw your attention. Just yesterday, I noticed that on my Twitter page, I refer to myself as an "Avid, British Gamer who does a bit of drawing now and again" It's accurate, I really like playing games. But there was a twinge of embarrassment I felt with it which made me consider changing the word "Gamer", despite doing nothing of the sort that we've seen come to light recently. I wonder if anyone else is starting to feel the same way now that a lot of "Gamers" are being exposed as the kind of scumbag who would do this?

I can just imagine the grin on @Dcubed's face when he came up with that name. Right, here's my entry. Something tells me by the time all the entries are posted, I'll be offline until Thursday, so I'm gonna hold off on playing the other entries until then, just so I can play them in quick succession before voting. -
Favourite Awful Game Eh? What a weird catagory. It just contradicts itself. How can you like a game you think is awful? But giving it a bit of thought, perhaps it doesn't have to be a game I actually played? With that in mind, there's one obvious answer where no-one can deny it's awfulness, yet I managed to get hours of entertainment without even playing it myself. Link: The Faces of Evil is a truly dreadful game for the equally dreadful Phillips CD-i. An absolute travesty that basically exists because of a loophole that allowed Phillips to use big Nintendo IP's. I imagine it's one of the most unfun games to trawl through, luckily I'll never play it. That grin from Link accurately reflects my own whenever I remember this game. My word, the cutscenes are nothing short of amazing. Crappy animation, dodgy voice acting and a talking Link that even the TV version of Link would think was overacting. At the height of it's memetic fame, I got hours of entertainment out of stupid edits people made that change the story. I genuinely believe that video editing memes like Steamed Hams owe their existence to the Zelda CD-i games. That's probably my favourite picture that I use as a reaction, it works so well. If you haven't, watch the cutscenes for this game, it's a cringefest in the best kind of way. SQUADALA! You know what? I probably would have enjoyed BotW more if it looked like the CD-i games. Yep, definite improvement.

Man, all these usernames that I don't recognise one bit. It's kinda fascinating.

Maybe if you actually asked me how my day was in the first place!

Not gonna lie, Pikmin Battle Royale was a real surprise. Definitely intrigued there. 2023 is so far away though...

Devolver Direct begins at 8pm. That's less than 1 and a half hours from now. Anyway, my unrealistic expectations are... 7th Smash character gets revealed, WayForward making a Zelda II remake, a new Pokémon Snap (Yes, another one), a Pokémon Mystery Dungeon movie, Shenmue 4, and a new puppy for everyone who buys an XBox Series X.

How can one person be so heinous!?

Favourite Town/Village There are basically two groups of people when it comes to this question. The wrong people who have clearly never played Majora's Mask and the people whose answer is Clock Town from Majora's Mask. The groundhog (3)day structure meant that Nintendo could program actual schedules to a lot of the residents. I have never seen a town that felt as believable as Clock Town and I doubt I ever will. Just following residents around can reward you with scenes going into their background. (Anju alone has lots of tiny little scenes) Case in point, there's a really obscure and easy to miss conversation you can listen in on if you get the Stock Pot Inn Room Key, don't give Anju the Pendant of Memories and then use your room to eavesdrop on Anju's room between 9:30pm and midnight on the second day. I only found out about this a year ago and I've played Majora's Mask countless times!

Friend Codes, Fruit, Trading and Photo Thread For Animal Crossing

Thanks to @BowserBasher for helping me net 150 points in about an hour. That Gold Trophy is as good as mine. -
It goes a lot quicker if you have friends helping out as well. Unlike the Bug-off. The fish spawn rate isn't lowered by friends visiting.

@Aneres11, your sign needs to be fired. -
Min Min was a rollercoaster, I started off horribly, taking over 100% damage on the first fight, and not doing much better on the second. And then fights 3-5 are battles where it's two against one and a horde battle made things even worse. Miracle of miracles, I did well on the horde battle and got to the boss with 8.9 intensity. Luckily, Min Min's boss is Galleom, who is way easier to deal with when you have Min Min's bonkers range. 57 down, 26 to go.

Olberic in Octopath Traveler is a crazy powerful tank, so actually, Ike seems like the obvious choice, but he's repped by Black Knight in the Spirit Fight with Bayonetta as Primrose. (Perfect choice there) My guess is that they didn't want all the fights to be 2 against one fights. (Although the H'aanit and Ophilia adds a Wolf because H'aanit has a similar animal buddy in Octopath) In an ideal world, we would have got music from Octopath Traveler just so Midgar can have a not dreadful music selection.

Credits Sequence Not interactive in the slightest, but I'm gonna give this one to Chrono Trigger. Oh right, there's like, 11 different credits in this game. Well it's the standard one for me. Something about that music just perfectly bookends this perfectly paced RPG in my mind. This one gets bonus points for having subtle changes depending on certain actions you did. Which is impressive for a SNES game. Spoilers ahead. There's also a credits Sequence you get for beating the final boss 2 minutes into the plot on a New Game+. It matches the speed at which you did it by whizzing them past at an unreadable speed. Which is always funny.

No it ain't. No-one actually cares enough for that game to get a sequel.

Ladies and Gentlemen... I present to you, Beauty and the Beast.

Don't worry, all is not lost, I'm 30 and I'm still as childish as I've always been! A part of me is amused with the idea of someone from really way back coming here and wondering who this Kecleon dude is and why is he staff?
