General Gaming Sales/Charts Discussion
Glen-i replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in General Gaming Discussion
This is amusing. Bravely Second reaches second in the charts because of the Argos stock clearence. What's sad is that it sold three times as much as it did when it actually released. This also means it doubled its lifetime sales. -
Sure, it's gotten better, but I do not think we are at the point where we can claim that it's not systematic yet. If that was the case, then the chart wouldn't be showing such a major difference. (It even says that Black people are 3 times more likely to be arrested, why is that?) I'm not even going to begin to claim that I know the answer to this, that would be foolish beyond belief. I can't even claim to understand why it happens, but there is clearly a lot of things wrong here.

Uhhhh... Am I missing something? Because I see a massive gap between the Black catagory and everything else? Especially in the stop and search chart.

It's really difficult to notice things that don't happen to you.

Yep, it's totally happening. I knew it all along. @Sméagol, stop putting ideas in his head! He's unstable enough! EDIT: Nope, Kyle's gone fishing, too late. -

Friend Codes, Fruit, Trading and Photo Thread For Animal Crossing
Glen-i replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
The Retro Game Show N-E Partay was a great success! Pictured from left to right are: @Katie, @Ronnie, @RedShell, me, @BowserBasher and @Tales. Congratulations to @BowserBasher for winning the star prize! But in the end, aren't we all winners? Well, no. @BowserBasher got the 99,000 Bells. But hey, at least @Katie got a brand new car....d! -
Is that 16 bugs, or 16 points? Bugs, so 18 points.
-
I got 16 once.
-
Well, I sent the Private Message for the N-E Partay, but I couldn't send one to @Tales. Didn't realise you could turn PM's off. I'll have to send it to you through the game itself.
-
Afraid not... EDIT: As luck would have it, I managed to pick one up at a friends island. Do you want to come pick it up? DOUBLE EDIT: Wait, I can just mail it to you. Duhhhh!
-
That would also be helpful, but some games I play may need people to send me a private message with the Best Friends section.

Friend Codes, Fruit, Trading and Photo Thread For Animal Crossing

I don't, but I'll do so anyway. I'll never enjoy it though. NEVER! -
OK, so I got the results down in the League Table then realised I forgot to get up the results of each GP, so no GP tables this week. (Man, I'm as rusty as I am on Mario Kart itself) Oh, and I also realised that the first half of the League is now over! That snuck up on me! So without further to do... Sorry that I can't give more detail on people this time, I wasn't there for most of it. 3rd Place martinist Just breaking the 2,000 point mark (2,063 points total), with an average score of 32.7 (Just squeaking past 4th place). 2nd Place viceview51 Total of 2,423 points and an average score of 38.5. What's notable here is that old vice got the most amount of 1st Place GP wins. Couldn't compensate for the lows though... 1st Place BowserBasher Our 1st half winner was much more consistent with his top 3 placings and got a total of 2,605 and an average of 41.3. Congratulations to @BowserBasher for clinching the first half, more than two thirds of every GP in the top 3 is really impressive. I'm sure some of you are wondering where my score went. Well, you see... Next League Night: 2nd July 8pm Room 1: @BowserBasher is host @Glen-i @BowserBasher @martinist @viceview51 @S.C.G OK, guys. Fresh start! The table is reset. Once more! With feeling! I'm going to take this opportunity to give a shout out to @Jayesse. I understand that you're new to this, but get in the habit of checking what the theme is each week and stick to it. I had to discount your score in the first GP because you weren't Baby Rosalina throughout most of it, but you seem to get what happened afterwards, seeing as you switched to the setup. Also, try and get here for 7:45. It makes my life harder if people show up late to the first GP without notice. We'll happily wait up to 5 minutes if you're running late, but just let me know. Sign up Now!

I'm afraid Sunday is no good for me, @Katie. I'll be offline by then. OK, reminder for the new page and anyone who would be interested in a N-Europe PARTAY! Time: Tonight 8pm (That's London Time, adjust accordingly) Island Venue: Kyoshi Dress Code: Retro Game Show Contestants Participants Glen-i (Partay host) @BowserBasher (Island Provider) @RedShell @Ronnie @Tales @Katie Back-up "maybes" Aneres11 markderoos Still two spaces available for anyone who is certain they can make it. If you're not sure, feel free to put yourself down as a "Maybe" A few things to keep in mind: Access to the island will be behind a Dodo Code, I need time to prepare after all. I will send a PM to everyone when it's ready to go. Expect said PM to be around 7:30, try and arrive a bit before 8, got to account for all the arriving animations that will go on. To elaborate on the dress code, it's the kind of clothing you'd see contestants wearing on Game Shows in the 80's/90's. "Smart Casual", I believe it's called. Flowery shirts/Dresses are highly encouraged. No Face Coverings. You're on camera. Once you arrive on the island, don't change your clothes. I use your look as a reference for who is who in certain games, and if you change, I'll get confused. I recommend bringing two shovels, nets, and fishing rods. Wouldn't want you running out when you really need them. If you haven't already, I highly recommend downloading the Switch Online App and linking your Animal Crossing file to it. You'll be able to type using your phone, which is way faster than using the keyboard on TV.

That's the weirdest dog I've ever seen on Animal Crossing.

Oh, don't take me the wrong way, I absolutely think a good plot can elevate a game, but it's a fine balance that is unfortunately skewed too far towards recreating a cinematic experience in a lot of AAA gaming, which I think misses the key selling point of games in the majority of cases. I know talking about E3 is weird because it's only a matter of time before it becomes obsolete, but whenever a game gets revealed there and one of the selling points is something along the lines of "cinematic experience", then it's a pretty good sign that I won't enjoy it. Of course, there's loads of exceptions to this, I actually think Breath of the Wild would have been better if it focused more on the plot, it had a cool idea, but never really took the time to flesh it out. Then again, maybe I just think that anything that stopped me playing BotW would be a benefit to BotW. (That's a totally different matter) And yet, despite all of this, it is weird that I'm such a fan of JRPG's, arguably some of the most plot-driven games in the industry. Honestly? I don't care about the plot of most games when I jump into them. If it's good, great! If it's bad, meh, no big loss. It's when the plot starts having a detrimental effect on the gameplay that I start having a bit of a tissy. But then we get to the issue of how much plot is the right amount of plot. And we can argue about that until the end of time, because it's different for everyone. So why argue about it? Because I'm a massive nerd that needs to get my thoughts across. A lot of people want Pokémon to focus more on having a better plot. Meanwhile, I look at that suggestion and give a big massive shrug. But jump to Pokémon Mystery Dungeon games and I suddenly expect some kind of plot. Maybe it comes down to expectations? Or maybe I'm just some kind of plot hypocrite? It's probably both. Anyway, plot is not important to me in the majority of games, but it's more important than graphics at least.

Who likes horrendous bad luck? -
Not a bad idea. But if I may hijack that plan a bit, may I suggest making the theme "Retro Game show"? I'd want you all to wear somewhat smart, but casual. The kind of stuff that wouldn't be embarrassing to be seen in on an old-school Game Show.

OK, @BowserBasher and I was discussing throwing a N-Europe PARTAY tomorrow at 8pm on his island. I've been dying to do one throughout my lockdown. Who here would be interested? Sure, me giving away money for the prizes isn't exactly as exciting as it was around the launch period, but bragging rights are always great! With me playing partay host and him providing the island, there would be room for 6 more people to join in. If 8pm is a bad time, perhaps we can work around it? Depending on if it's OK for other people. Guest List Glen-i (Partay host) BowserBasher (Island host / Island Name Kyoshi) RedShell Ronnie Tales
