I think the last open world game I played was Arceus and don't recall having the same issues, but maybe because there was so little in the world that it was easier in a way. The worlds here are a bit too cluttered. It's funny really; the last game was criticised for being too corridor-ey and now this. Maybe third times a charm.

Done most of the fourth world now and going to go back and do some of those challenges that require a certain amount of sparks. I'm enjoying the game but I think the biggest downsides to me are some of the puzzles are ambiguous and/or i don't care so I just look online (such as the potion one in world 4, i had no desire to decipher it and it was long-winded in the end) and i find navigating around the worlds pretty confusing. It feels like there's not enough landmarks or identifiable things so I'm running around a lot and constantly opening and closing the map. The main gameplay (the battles) are still great though and I enjoy the variety of them and the sparks do add a good new twist to it all.

In fairness Holocaust denialism is a thing in the real world so...

Nintendo could go digital only, but it would need to be accessed via the Famicom Network Service and no it won't be brought outside of Japan or revived within. Just figure it out yourself.

The year is nearly over so let's see how it went. Will leave this pretty open ended in terms of what you discuss, but maybe if people are particularly interested in reflecting on media for the year (film, TV etc) start new threads for it. We could always do with more of those! Mine really feels like it can be split into three; the first half was relatively uneventful, summer was awful and then the end I've been trying to make changes. The year started with the departure of my PT who had been an anchor of sorts as the first friend I made when I moved here. At the start of the year I had decided I wanted to leave this country and was speaking to lawyers about visas but then ultimately realised I might be able to get one, but it would have to be doing the work I was doing at the time which I didn't like so I paused that. Then jubilee weekend my mom moved house so we helped out 3 of those 4 days. A week later her husband died. A week after that my nan was rushed (if you can count 5 hours waiting for an ambulance as such) to hospital and then spent the final 3 weeks of her life there. During that time I was going back and forth a fair bit (about a 40 minute train ride) and was with her when she passed. We then had those funerals about a month apart, one on one of those 40⁰ days and another when it was also very hot. Understandably a lot of time and effort was then given to try and help my mom through all of this. In the tail end of the year I left my job and I've been retraining to become a personal trainer and hoping to qualify before Christmas (need to submit some coursework today). The original plan was to open a gym with my new PT and his business partner but they've decided to get office jobs (that's two PTs I've lost in a year) so that's off but still making plans for next year... But that's for another time. So another year where things didn't quite go to plan. 2020 I was supposed to travel round the world for a year (lasted 17 days), 2021 felt like treading water and now this. But I think I'm ending it in a more optimistic place than starting.

Glad to hear you're making progress and you seem to be tackling things in a healthy way. Things like therapy are a marathon and not a sprint; there will be good sessions and bad sessions where you feel like you're stalling (and obviously good and bad days generally) but it's a process and you need to put your faith in that. And one thing Grey's Anatomy does get right is there is something very therapeutic about just dancing it out. Even if it's by yourself for a few seconds there's something cathartic about both the exercise and the "who gives a fuck" mentality it requires.

To me it sounds like you've already bore witness to the ruinous things.

It's a neat idea and looks intriguing but one of those that could well end up being "well that would have been a better tech demo than game"

I for one am glad that the bisexuals are getting another game to call their own.

Nintendo Direct: The Super Mario Bros. Movie 2nd trailer - 29th November
Ashley replied to Ike's topic in Nintendo Gaming
See I did later realise I made the Last of Us TV thread in general chat so in theory the Mario film should be there too but it'll probably remain here. -
Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon (17th March)

I have no idea what's going on in those screenshots but the art style is nice -

It very much deserves its own thread. Not everything needs to be in a mega thread! Although I see your point that typically it would be in the General forum, rather than the Nintendo one. But it's more about whether we roll the direct threads into a general one. -

Oh yeah in terms of the actual trailer I did like that the Antiques shop font was pixelated. Nice touch. Admining out loud here but how do people want to proceed with this film? I think there's a general thread somewhere and if so we've now had three threads about it. Should we just merge them all into one? -

I'd question that assertion -
Or perhaps order it from Amazon but don't open it. See if the official Lego site reduces it in the New Year sale; if they do and it's better for you return the Amazon one, if not keep the Amazon one.

Retro's Zelda game for the Wii has been uncovered
Ashley replied to Dufniall's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I wonder who "owns" the documents given it was Retro's pitch. Based on Nintendo's IP of course so maybe they part own but blah. -

Yeah it does seem a bit far. It's so old and Nintendo isn't going to do anything with it. -
Coincidentally this was released the other day and discusses how CPU just use their weapons due to hardware limitations:

Blue shells and coins. Either you get something good or you get screwed.

I saw you posted in here @Hero-of-Time and thought "wow, he really will play anything".

I was just making a stupid joke

Although with the Switch hardware COD will be more like a guppy 🥁

Any missions forcing you to kill an animal. One of the SE Tomb Raiders did the same. I never got round to playing part 2 so the song was unexpected to me at least 😋

Okay that trailer actually got me interested. The first is one of the few games I've actually finished although I can't remember much about it other than the giraffes (and I think one mission where I had to kill a deer and I dislike those) but the visuals of the trailer were impressive. And the song choice was unexpected. Although now I want to watch that Covid Community table read thing if for no other reason that to hear Pedro Pascal giggling about semen.

In fairness at the time I posted it the issue seemed to be more that the mass firings meant it seemed likely at some point something would snap and it would go down without intent, rather than a huge group of people leaving. Now it feels more like it'll be a slow drain away of people and advertisers and become more and more right wing and less relevant over time. I think it just needs a decent alternative to crystallise and that hasn't happened yet. I'm considering giving it up. Recently I cut my following count right down to primarily people I know, or people I occasionally interact with. Put a chunk of those on mute (polite following) and turned off retweets for many because I just wanted to see people I know posting about themselves. However I still see other things get through and end up seeing tweets and then making the mistake of looking at responses and seeing the dregs. I could be more disciplined, but I think maybe just giving it up in the new year.
