LukeLee Posted November 23, 2006 Posted November 23, 2006 i'm not sure if this has been posted, but its a GTTV review of zelda, they give it 9.7 - but the review gives away quite a few spoilers. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-1FE1H0R4po
Jordan88 Posted November 23, 2006 Posted November 23, 2006 Other NOM scores Zelda TP 97% Wii Sports 90% Red Steel 91% Madden 07 86% Need For Speed Carbon 59% Call Of Duty 3 86% Super Monkey Ball:Banana Blitz 81% Rayman Raving Rabbids 78% Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam 85%
McPhee Posted November 23, 2006 Posted November 23, 2006 Gamespot review's The Legend of Zelda [NES] and gets a score of 7.8 by Jeff Gerstmann. "The Bad: Some elements of the game's design haven't aged very well." Got it on my mobile, think he might be right there tbh. I got bored and gave up, then again i usually do with Zelda games...

0m1 Posted November 23, 2006 Posted November 23, 2006 As much as my little fanboy living in me likes them, those NOM scores are a teeny bit ridiculous. The Zelda one is fine, looking at what everyone else has given it, but Wii Sports/Play, and Red Steel sound like they've been rated a notch higher than one would ... think feasible..
The Bard Posted November 23, 2006 Posted November 23, 2006 Yeah, I agree with that. Just thought you'd like to know

NOM is a joke of a magazine. Just don't bother with it in anyway.
Haden Posted November 23, 2006 Posted November 23, 2006 Isnt there another Nintendo mag on the market now? Revolution? Is that reviewing anything?
Nintenchris Posted November 23, 2006 Posted November 23, 2006 Isnt there another Nintendo mag on the market now? Revolution? Is that reviewing anything? The next NRevolution (yeah its called NRevolution now) mag... the one with thr reviews is out after the Wii launches... yeah i know how crap is that!
Migraine Posted November 23, 2006 Posted November 23, 2006 I seriously think that these reviewers cant grasp the fact that 90% of videogames have terrible voice acting, and that voicing an entire Zelda game could only end badly. Seriously, whats wrong with reading, They speak a different language then English, to have them speak that and not Hylian, would completely ruin everyones imagination. I'll second, third and fourth that little beauty. The day I hear Link say anything other than "GYAAAAH!" will be a sad day, i'm sure. I was happy with the wind waker's Kaboooom's, Sploooosh's and Thaaaaankyouu's but anything more would just be illusion-shattering. Hell, I don't want them to give Link text, let alone a voice.
Zechs Merquise Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 Just got the mag haven't read the review yet but the pros and cons. Wii Play + Two unlockable games give reason to play more + Multiplayer action is a great laugh + Offers more diversity than wii sports + Comes with free Wii remote - Table tennis is limited 91% hahaha, I thought Wii Play game FREE with a remote, not the other way around lol. ONM are ok, but you've got to expect high scores from an official mag. They've cleaned up their act a lot lately, think back to the days when it totally degenerated and there were only something like 20 words to each page. Anyone else remember that???
solitanze Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 Some encouraging Poll results from gamefaqs.com: Now that they're out, who do you think will win the console war? Vote Accepted It'll practically be a tie, with no clear winner 12.52% 12507 Microsoft, the 360's lead is insurmountable 12.96% 12947 Nintendo, the Wii's popularity will grow like wild 50.66% 50597 Sony, the PS3 will build up speed next year 20.93% 20902 Nobody, all three consoles will die out next year 2.93% 2922 TOTAL VOTES 99875

ONM are ok, but you've got to expect high scores from an official mag. i thought that but i think they want to squeeze and extra tenner from us. never liked ONM since NGamer came out. i think their reviews aren't so much critical analysis more a synopsis of what happens in the game then maybe a paragraph about what it does right/wrong.
Cube Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 The next NRevolution (yeah its called NRevolution now) mag... the one with thr reviews is out after the Wii launches... yeah i know how crap is that! Yea, because nRevolution publisher had already set the dates for the magazine releases, and that they couldn't get a finished game to review in time for the issue before that, its a right pain. p.s. Their name change was only because an company called "Revolution Software" complained about the name.

Their name change was only because an company called "Revolution Software" complained about the name. wondered why it had changed, its a crap magazine though, the only thing I like it for is the retro magazine inside, you don't really learn much from the previews they have some ok features aswell- in this issue you get "Have you Heard?" finding out what people know about the Wii. Ngamer gets my thumbs up for the DVD, but to be honest, its pretty poor aswell, EDGE and Games TM are the only mags I buy often, but the internet does kinda put you off wasting money on them.
Nintendork Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 Poll results like that are invalid because the little comments pigeon hole people into putting wrong answers. Also with a large portion of the Wii's sales this quarter going to non gamers they don't have a chance to vote on this. A good poll would be. PC PlayStation XBOX 360 Wii None of the above
solitanze Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 VERY concerning POLL results on gamefaqs.com just in. Nintendos lack of advertising has already had a significant toll on Wiis overall success. Have you played the Wii yet? Vote Accepted Bought it, played it, love it 19.57% 3638 Yes, and I really want one now 11.33% 2106 Yes, but I'm not sold on it yet 3.02% 562 Yes, and I definitely don't want one 2.91% 542 No, I still haven't tried it yet 63.17% 11746 TOTAL VOTES 18594

Also greater adverts when it is actually realised.
Teppo Holmqvist Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 TOTAL VOTES 18594 Interesting... "normal" Gamefaqs poll has around 120 000 answers, this one only 18 594.
Nintendork Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 60% of people have chosen to try it over the 5% of people who said they either won't or probably won't try it. TBH that means their marketing and hype has hit people into actively seeking the product (demo units, friends, purchases) that's good. Check your local stores this weekend.. the UK is getting them rolled out now.
solitanze Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 Its a relatively new Poll, so it might increase in votes within the next few hours.
Yoshiking Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 Why do I assume Norway isn't gonna get a single damned demo pod before launch..? *cries*
Shino Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 Why do I assume Norway isn't gonna get a single damned demo pod before launch..?*cries* You need to lurk moar, even Portugal already has one.
