flameboy Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 At the time it seemed like a very fresh platformer, its adult humour had me wetting myself lol. who can forget its many incredible set pieces: the matrix style finale, fighting a big singing turd, meeting the grim reaper gregg please lets see this on the vc, or i may have to buy the xbox version which im sure just wont feel the same, lets not forget ign gave it 9.9 surely their highest score ever? 10 PresentationSuperb interface, top delivery of character and theme, and it's a crack up. 10 Graphics Just about the best thing Rare has ever done. Amazing texture work, lighting effects, shadows, transparencies -- everything. As good as it gets on N64. 10 Sound Full Dolby Surround Sound and enough effects and music variety to floor players. 10 Gameplay Fresh control mechanics, outstanding pace, great in-game character interaction, and so much more. Could it be any better? 8.0 Lasting Appeal 15 hours and you're probably done. It's satisfying while it lasts, but gamers will still want more. The multiplayer mode is great, but doesn't totally make up for the single's decidedly short run. 9.9 Incredible OVERALL (out of 10 / not an average)
Zell Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 IGN gave Oot 10. Conker's and Perfect Dark are probably my favourite n64 games ever, oh how I miss Rare.

Fierce_LiNk Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 I've never played this, but i really wanted to. Maybe i won't enjoy it now as much as i would have back then? Hmm. If i see it on the cheap, it will be mine.
flameboy Posted November 10, 2006 Author Posted November 10, 2006 rememeber it being £55/£60 when it was realised owing to it being such a big cart.
mcj metroid Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 brilliant game.Funniest game of all time...Well that's not unintensionally hilarious anyway....i'm looking at you superman 64!
flameboy Posted November 10, 2006 Author Posted November 10, 2006 oh god yeah superman 64, wot a god awful game
Librarian Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 well conker stands for me as one of the best games on the N64 that is.. I also played the xbox version but it was just the same with some more polygons and easier.. and the online conker thing sucked.. at least for me
Zell Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 I've never played this, but i really wanted to. Maybe i won't enjoy it now as much as i would have back then? Hmm. If i see it on the cheap, it will be mine. Conker's is the best looking game on N64, and multiplayer is still extremely fun. In my opinion, the game has hardly aged at all over all these years. So pick it up! It will be worth it!
welsh_gamer Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 The spoofs in adventure mode were hillarious and the sgript! And the multiplayer was FANTASTIC! Squirells VS Teddiz was it? Machines guns and Chainsaws! Oh how I want an N64 again to play RARE game!
Goron_3 Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 I got this from GAME a week after it came out for £30. Easily my favourite N64 game (i prefer OoT with the GC controller). Multiplayer is amazing and the single player is absolutely hilarious.
Domstercool Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 I love Conker on the N64. It had the best bits of platforming merged with some great comedy gags. It was like the last N64 game I bought for the system. Well worth high scores all around. It might not of been innovative, but it sure was hell bloody damn good fun.
Guest Jordan Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 I only played Live and Reloaded, personally i thought it was funny 'n all but not exactly an "amazing" game.
Zell Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 Live and Reloaded does not do the original justice.
1UP Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 It won't come to VC cos Rare owns the IP and Rare are owned my Microsoft now.
Kurtle Squad Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 well conker stands for me as one of the best games on the N64 that is.. I also played the xbox version but it was just the same with some more polygons and easier.. and the online conker thing sucked.. at least for me Yeah...There wasn't the quirky lil multi player modes either.
solitanze Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 This game I liked very much, last boss I beat in my first go. Only took about 10 hours to beat the game but an enjoyable game it was. The ending sucked though...
gaggle64 Posted December 2, 2006 Posted December 2, 2006 The multiplayer game where you had to guide the frenchies past the machine guns and the flag capture game on the N64 were fantastic multiplayer modes, uniquely even more so with bots. Live and Reloaded had some pretty neat multiplayer ideas but the 64 version is still the definitive one. Ending was pretty cool. Horribly downbeat but I liked that because you just don't see that a lot, especially in video games. Still praying for a proper sequel.
LukeLee Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 i managed to pick this up a few weeks ago in gamestation. Goldeneye, Conkers and DK64 for 10 quid - bargain. The shop assistant obviously had no clue what these games should of been selling for. Now if only i could find an expansion pack.
Mikey Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 Great deal, you totally ripped them off. Well done. Feel like getting my N64 out now to replay through this. [Edit]Got my old N64 out to play this game again. Loving it.
Jay Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 Really awesome game - The Xbox version was such a disappointment, the multiplayer was the best aspect of the original yet they totally destroyed it in the multiplayer-centric remake. Never quite figured that one out.
Roostophe Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 I borrowed this off a friend, made me wet myself. I loved all the characters, Birdy the Scarecrow, the Scouse Dung Beetles and Sloprano. It was also very enjoyable.
mcj metroid Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 You know when u die and go to the grim reaper.that was the best part. found it watch this! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JEjyOJiF4kg
Mikey Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 Ordered the remake, because I just can't stand to use that N64 pad any more. Should come in the next few days
Zell Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 You know when u die and go to the grim reaper.that was the best part. found it watch this! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JEjyOJiF4kg Lol I love greg. His best line is later when he says: "So they're fish versions of the little bastards now."
