Caris Posted May 19, 2006 Posted May 19, 2006 Just found this on IGN, good read, might have some truth behind it as well. Theres allways hope. http://blogs.ign.com/Dreamcast2-IGN/
masaki86 Posted May 19, 2006 Posted May 19, 2006 I suppose we can only wait 11 days until nothing is announced. Doesn't make sense though tbh.
Towers Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 No way. Firstly they wouldn't dare release a sequel to the Dreamcast and name it Dreamcast 2.. it didn't exactly sell well you see. Plus Sega I don't think would have the money to support it... PLUS is there really room on the market for a 4th console... No there isn't
Marshmellow Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 i never really played dreamcast but that would be pretty crazy to have a sequal to it after all these years
Sooj Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 Unless "Dreamcast 2" is a codename for some "sega developed hardware for the Nintendo Wii" I don't see sega bringing out a proper sequel to the Dreamcast.

Stocka Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 TGS 2006 Sega have suprisingly announced a sequel to their previous console, the Sega Dreamcast. The Sega Dreamcast 2 will launch with sequels to the highy appreciated RPGs on the original console, Shenmue III and Skies of Arcadia II Stocka: OOMMMMMMFFGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!OMFG!!112!!! ARGHH *cums*
Towers Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 Thought about this last night and what would be really cool would be if Sega kept all Dreamcast specs yet shrunk it all down and made it into a handheld. That would be pretty cool.. but it's still highly unlikely

ShadowV7 Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 Is all this real? The whole IGN thing looked like a joke.Seems strange to release a second one when SEGA are making several games for the consoles.Maybe the whole NiGHTS rumour is for the DC2.Time will tell but i'm hesitating to believe it.
demonmike04 Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 I personally think its a joke, just a blog by a non-believer. I saw this yesterday because it was in the featured bar... Why would it be there though if it wernt serious?
Nintendork Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 Who would buy it? Sega have been out the spotlight for over 5 years. It's not financially viable.
Tellyn Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 A handheld would be good, if it's cheap and has good games (maybe they could do a partnership with Nintendo) then I'd buy it. Probably not a main console though, can't exactly see it as cheap. Oh, and have you realised that those interviews are fake?
Stocka Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 Who would buy it? Me. I'd buy another Sega Console over a PS3 for sure.
ShadowV7 Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 I'd buy a Dreamcast 2 anyday.I'd get a Wii and a DC 2.I read a while ago there was going to be a new DC game released that would be out on the Cube aswell, could be that.
That Guy Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 Who would buy it? Sega have been out the spotlight for over 5 years. It's not financially viable. It's especially stupid considering all of their games are coming out on what would be rival systems. Not worth it, and I'm over the whole Sega console thing now anyway. I like Nintendo better.
Fierce_LiNk Posted May 21, 2006 Posted May 21, 2006 The moment you can buy a Sonic game on ALL of the current systems (PS2, Xbox, GC, DS, GBA), you know that Sega are never coming back in the console race. There's miracles, then there's this.

Fields Posted May 21, 2006 Posted May 21, 2006 The whole IGN thing looked like a joke. Well no fucking shit, Sherlock.
Athriller Posted May 21, 2006 Posted May 21, 2006 They're sticking their big guns on the 360, PS3 and Wii. It would be suicide to launch a console where a lot of their franchises could be found on competing systems. And to be honest, with all the hype surrounding the current 3 next gen consoles, Sega would be butchered if they were to release their follow up to the dreamcast out of the blue. It's wishful thinking, and nothing more I say.
Mikey Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 The Dreamcast was severely overrated. It had some cool games like Quake 3, Shenmue and Soul Calibur though.
Hellfire Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 And Chu Chu rocket, crazy taxy, jet set radio, shenmue 2, headhunter, pso, outrigger, samba de amigo, skies of arcadia tony hawks pro skater 2, Ferrari F355,Virtua Tennis, Power Stones, Street Fighter, Resident Evils, Rayman 2, Legacy of Kain,... Oh yeah defenitly overrated.
Stocka Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 It had some cool games like Shenmue Cool?!?! ..Shenmue is a lot more than cool, it's a masterpiece.
Caris Posted May 24, 2006 Author Posted May 24, 2006 Some of my best gaming moments ever were playing... Jet Set Radio for the 1st time Sonic Adventure for the 1st time Playing Chu Chu Rocket ONLINE ON A HOME CONSOLE!
