ShavenWolf Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 I've not used my 360 in months, but I bought GoW2 the other day, which is a great game btw. What's really pissing me off though is that, after being in my drawer for 6 months or so, neither of my 360 wireless controllers now work, unless they're plugged in with the play and charge kit! I press the guide button, but absolutely nothing happens. They're both fully charged (or should be by now) and, like I say, have hardly died from overuse. They've just seemed to have died while sitting in my drawer! Gah! The infamous 360 build 'quality' strikes again....
Shorty Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 Have you used the controllers on any other 360 recently? Have you tried resyncing them?
Mundi Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 Anyone know if I can plug a USB headphone and Mic and use it in chat on Xbox live? Because my third headset is crapping out and in my experience I find them a bit bad in the quality department.
ShavenWolf Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 Have you used the controllers on any other 360 recently? Have you tried resyncing them? My controllers have been in my drawer for ages, except for a couple of very brief plays. And I can't even switch the controllers on to resync! Nothing lights up when I press the guide button. Grr.
S.C.G Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 Dodgy batteries maybe? unlikely but possible, try non rechargables in them.
Shorty Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 Yeah sounds like the batteries are dead, can happen sometimes when you don't use them for a long time. It would work plugged in because then it's powered by the 360.
ShavenWolf Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 True... I'll give them a go with normal batteries when I get home and report back. Yep, that seems to be the case, the controllers work fine with standard batteries in. Still a bit peed that my rechargable ones have just dicked out on me though. Is there anyway of reviving them?
McPhee Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 Already posted in the Mirror's Edge thread but if anyone wants a copy i'll be looking to let mine go on Monday. Yours for a copy of CoD5, Banjo: N&B, Fallout 3 (all on 360/PC) or £30 (offers considered)

Recharge them with the Play and Charge kit but don't try and disconnect the controller before it's finished charging, maybe it needs a full charge after not being used for so long, not sure.
Ganepark32 Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 Yeh basically just charge the batteries for a considerable period of time, perhaps overnight and that should revive them.

It happened to me before, and eventually after just charging while using it and charging over night etc. it regained it's charge.
Dan_Dare Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 xbox live is broken? looks it. i'm signed in but gears is fucked. not impressed.
Emerald Emblem Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 So the RRoD issue, is that still an issue on the newer Xbox 360's?

Caris Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 So the RRoD issue, is that still an issue on the newer Xbox 360's? Yeah but not as bad.
Columnar Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 OK I have a question. If you have an HDTV and you're playing your Xbox 360 through any HD resolution (720p, 1080i etc) your TV is in PAL 60Hz mode right? I've just tried to play 'Hitman: Blood Money' on my 360 and it keeps telling me that the game does not run in PAL 50Hz and that I have to change my Console Settings to 60Hz mode. There is no option to change Hz (as far as I can see) and I just tried DOA 4 (which also says on the box '60 Hz only') and it runs perfectly so does anyone know what could be wrong? Got a new 360 in June and this is the first time I've even put the Hitman disc in the machine and it just won't run. I'm using an HDMI cable if that helps?
Aalborg Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/913442 should be this!? scroll down.. at the bottom is shown how to change hz setting on your box
That Guy Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 I know how to fix that, I'm on an iPhone so hard to have a look but if you haven't got it sorted by later on I'll post again. Google Hitman 360 50hz and you should find the solution.
Bren Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 plug ur 360 in via scart, change it to 60hz, then plug bak in ur HD.
That Guy Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 plug ur 360 in via scart, change it to 60hz, then plug bak in ur HD. I knew it was something pretty simple. It's daft that you have to do this, you would have thought they could have patched it at some point.
Solo Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 What the hell, I just bought Brothers in Arms and every time I load the game up it signs me out and I can't sign in again!!
