What dumbass plot will the game have, do you reckon? Green men from Mars abducting Chris Redfield?

At this rate, you cannot trust Capcom to do anything logical. :indeed:

Ahh, nothing quite like a classic Shot On Shittio off-screen camera leak photo.  That means it must be legit!

Great. Let's take another one of my favourite franchises and tutn it into an open world game. :(

Welcome to my eternal 2020 nightmare.

I think it could work for an RE game to let the player go anywhere they like from the start, as long as the map is relatively small, but it would still be a complete upheaval of conventions of a series that isn't really in need of an overhaul or reimagining.

This is a big time publisher. There's no such thing as small when it comes to open world as far as that's concerned.

If more games were like Lil Gator Game, I probably wouldn't hate it as much.

I would not be on board with open world. The whole draw of RE games for me is the linear, sometimes claustrophobic feel.

If they move away from that then they lose what has made the games so great over the years.

Having said that, at this stage though they probably do need to do something different. There's only so many abandoned villages, churches, mansions and hospitals they can use.

Pokémon going open world was the worst thing that happened in 2020.

I don't fully agree. It may be able to work. So as long as they aren't giving you ridiculous OP upgrades, I think the idea of just stumbling into trouble in a random place could be effective for the RE universe. Like just imagine if you walked into a hotel and Hunters or Lickers had built a nest, which means there could be a large number of them inside.

After all, Days Gone did it perfectly when you were in the woods and came across a cave. Freakers in abundance ran after Deacon. If you were unaware of the entry point being there, it could come as a huge shock if you went in to explore the opening.

But I am more concerned about the aspects of the plot going forward. Pseudo vampires is clearly the best Capcom could come up with. Or that giant robot man.

Like, really?

Wouldn't surprise me.  Resident Evil is a well oiled machine at this point.

I just hope that they don't try to pull another Dragon's Dogma 2 and that they've learned from their mistakes with rushing that game out the door before it was done.

This is a matter of opinion, but I think the franchise lost the scare factors it became renowned for once they made Leon and all that into the main protagonists. The games and movies Leon is seen in are always heavy on explosions and stuff. Now, okay. He is a cool character, but he is also incredibly macho.

While games like RE7 and 8 are corny to me, at least the main character is just a 'normal' guy, until the mould stuff changes him. But you know what I mean, I guess. Because games with new blood are the best survival horror storylines, in a Silent Hill kind of way. It's always interesting when a civilian just ends up thrown in at the deepest end of the pool right away, having to unravel the mystery as to how he or she got there. It's actually really compelling.

By bringing back Chris and these other veterans, though, the games have too much violence. And so as a result, they feel like Michael Bay productions in gaming form.

The storylines are also evidently silly, which is because Capcom is probably struggling to conjure up new plot aspects that haven't already been attempted. Because can we be honest here? Their creative team sucks.

If people say the franchise has always been like that (as in cheesy), I half disagree. Because there's a campy vibe, and then there's the ludicrous stuff like what RE8 is known for.

The memes culture totally loves that game, but I think it's just daft. So I hope we won't be seeing flying saucers and little green men in the franchise next. You just never know what lame trash Capcom is gonna chuck in for to make a quick dollar.

What I meant was, he's too overpowered. He even does suplexes, kicks and bulldogs. But they all are too OP now, to be honest. :hehe:

But Chris is still the top dog.
