Plastic tat as far as the eye can see! It's my dream, @Ashleys nightmare:

I believe the diorama is the same one that used to be available on Club Nintendo when the 3DS game came out! The wobbly Luigi is brand new!

Not gonna lie, very tempted to go all in and buy the expensive bundle. I never did get the diorama back when it was available.

Me too, I wasn't that sold on this port, but all that Luigi stuff is very tempting as I missed the diorama too!

I remember that diorama from back in the day!

I also remember it being crazy expensive and well out of reach for younger me... so this bundle is actually not a bad deal.

When they announced that they were remastering this game, I didn't expect them to remaster the diorama as well :p

I could say something about it, but fear it may ruin it for anyone looking to get it.

Mysterious!

Another trailer:

Here's a question for you all: with Luigi's Mansion 2 and 3 being on the Switch from the end of June, do you think Nintendo have plans for the original game? I know it came to the 3DS in its dying days, but do we think Luigi's Mansion gets a full remaster for the Switch 2, a HD remaster to fill out the standard Switch roster in the next 2/3 years during the transition to the Switch 2, or will it just be thrown on NSO as part of a potential GameCube collection?

Because I've always found it a bit strange that they decided to free 2 from the shackles of the 3DS while leaving the original behind, seeing as most people I imagine (myself included) would like to start where it all began. But yeah, just curious! :peace:

This would be my guess, but the problem there is that GameCube games, being disc based games, are dramatically larger in size. So it's not feasible to have an app that just consolidates a bunch of Gamecube games in one place.

There are ways around that, my solution would be to have the customer pick and choose what games on the service they actually download to the app. But it can't be as streamlined as the other apps.

Could it be that Nintendo have been looking at this and how to incorporate games into the Switch’s successor?  I agree about the size issues, and so would either need to ensure a suitable streaming service, or plenty of storage space (I can only imagine they’d treat the app similarly to the current NSO ones).

Having it early doors would ensure plenty of games for people to play in the new system.  I think Luigi’s Mansion would be on this as opposed to an HD remix.

Maybe they'll release GameCube games on cartridges that are proportionally smaller to the Switch ones as GameCube discs were to DVDs.

My thoughts exactly @Hero-of-Time. Opened mine and thought “is that it?” I do like the other piece though. I got the bundle with the mug which is also pretty neat.

Yeah, I also got the mug and keyring but forgot to put them in the shot.

I've played up to the end of B-2 so far and the experience has been largely as expected so far!

I'm probably gonna just chip away at a chapter here and there over the next few weeks as the slow pace doesn't lend itself well to prolonged sessions.

It feels good to play and I've been trying to be thorough with it but I'm still missing gems from the first mansion. The structure of the game still works against itself in this regard, unfortunately.

I've probably reached a stage now where I think I know I'm not going to be uncovering all of the gems so that is likely to lead to a slightly more direct approach going forward!

Just finished E-2 there (which I think is part of the final mansion) and I'm feeling like I'm kinda ready for the game to end by this point.

What's there still looks and feels good but it's rarely ever that fun. Even though the mission I just cleared was over in around half an hour, it felt longer and more than I wanted it to be, which is rarely a good sign 😅

It was definitely one of those stages where I would have been sickened if I ended up having to repeat the entire thing upon losing all my health but it never seemed likely, thankfully!
