Disappointed it's this expensive, but it is a premium product with some quality features. Not sure when (if) I'll get one. 1
Ronnie Posted October 18, 2022 Posted October 18, 2022 (edited) £210. Amazing. It'll probably have an even worse battery life than the current Dualsense too, if such a thing is even possible. Edited October 18, 2022 by Ronnie 1

Are they smoking dope? £210? Edited October 18, 2022 by Sheikah
Ronnie Posted October 18, 2022 Posted October 18, 2022 £290 version announced as well, with an additional demo included:
Hero-of-Time Posted October 18, 2022 Posted October 18, 2022 Man, Sony has been so out of touch since Jim took over. He really wants the PS brand to be seen as a premium product, doesn't he? Muppet.
Ike Posted October 18, 2022 Posted October 18, 2022 They priced themselves out off a sale. Was looking to pick one up since I like the Elite series controller (mostly for the added weight).
killthenet Posted November 8, 2022 Posted November 8, 2022 (edited) My copy of God of War arrived a day early - thanks Base.com! - so, even though I won't be ready to start playing for a few days, I figured I'd get the game installed straight away. Just put the disc in and it estimates its going to take 8 hrs to copy, I assume it'll gradually speed up but even so, thats pretty nuts. Edited November 8, 2022 by killthenet

Sheikah Posted November 8, 2022 Posted November 8, 2022 The estimates are nonsense. I recently downloaded an 80mb patch and it said it would take 4 hours to copy. Didn't even take 5 seconds It usually quickly corrects itself. The hours estimate is based on averaging the connection speed every second, which at the beginning is typically almost nothing.
killthenet Posted November 8, 2022 Posted November 8, 2022 It's mostly done installing after an hour or so but the estimated time left is disconcertingly climbing again - hope there isn't anything wrong with my disc drive...
Hero-of-Time Posted November 22, 2022 Posted November 22, 2022 Sony are finally slamming the ban hammer on people spitting out garbage games on PSN. In recent months there have been more and more asset flip games being uploaded to PSN in order to make a quick buck. It's about time they done something about it.
drahkon Posted November 22, 2022 Posted November 22, 2022 Better late than never. Hope it'll actually have an impact. Retroactively, too, but I doubt that's going to happen. Not sure if it's possible without any legal ramifications.
Hero-of-Time Posted December 3, 2022 Posted December 3, 2022 I figured I should be playing my PS5 more and so made a few purchases during the Black Friday sales, much like I do every year. A couple of games (The Quarry and Shredder's Revenge PS5 version) have yet to arrive. Given the recent Royal Mail strikes, I fear they may have been lost in the post. The controller deal was crazy. You got that and Horizon for £45. Plenty to keep me busy over the coming months, although TLOU has already been finished. 1
drahkon Posted December 3, 2022 Posted December 3, 2022 Holy smokes. Awesome haul Plenty of incredible games. And Sonic Just kidding, no idea what it's like. Let us know, though 1
Hero-of-Time Posted December 13, 2022 Posted December 13, 2022 I imagine this will be the main model going forward.

This model will streamline production and might also serve as the "blueprint" for a possible Pro unit. I would assume that the next generation will be completely digital, though. MS and Sony will most likely go that route, Nintendo probably not. They might invent a new medium because they can't help themselves. "Ethereal" game cards or something. 1
Ashley Posted December 13, 2022 Posted December 13, 2022 Nintendo could go digital only, but it would need to be accessed via the Famicom Network Service and no it won't be brought outside of Japan or revived within. Just figure it out yourself. 1
Ronnie Posted December 13, 2022 Posted December 13, 2022 I'm going to assume this disk drive will be compatible with the current Digital only PS5... right...? With Sony you never know.
drahkon Posted December 13, 2022 Posted December 13, 2022 (edited) Well, well, well...Hades. First run ended prematurely because I couldn't get used to dashing being on X and not on R1. Sadly, I tried to change the button config after the run and not during. Could've gone much further, I guess Managed to beat the Hydra on my second run, though. Used the bow, still hate that weapon. I think I enjoyed an upgraded version of it, though. Now it's time for the third run. This time it's the shield. Gonna throw it a million times. Edited December 13, 2022 by drahkon
bob Posted December 13, 2022 Posted December 13, 2022 I never could get used to the bow. It had some cool upgrades, but I hated the delay in waiting for it to charge up.
Hero-of-Time Posted December 14, 2022 Posted December 14, 2022 My poor wallet. The first half of the year is ridiculous. 1

I have no connection with One Piece but I do love a good, classic style JRPG. I'll certainly be keeping my eye on it.
