Hero-of-Time Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 About time this was announced. The trophy list was leaked AGES ago. Hi everyone. We’re really excited to finally reveal that two classic Quantic Dream games are coming to PlayStation 4 only for Europe and the PAL region – we’re bringing both Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls to a PS4 near you soon. Both titles will be available as individual digital releases, with a two-game bundle also available both digitally and physically. For many players Heavy Rain was a defining moment in their gaming history, and for us it was definitely a milestone of the PS3 generation. The BAFTA and AIAS winning game helped establish what we like to call ‘interactive drama’ back in 2010, and loads of you have told us over the years how much the game’s story of a father who would do anything for his son moved you. We’re really proud of Heavy Rain and we can’t wait for you to either play it again or experience it for the very first time. Later in the life of the PS3 came its spiritual sequel, Beyond: Two Souls. We loved the epic journey of Jodie Holmes, featuring an incredible performance from Ellen Page complemented by the wonderful talent of Willem Dafoe. Jodie’s story is a tumultuous one, and one we know touched many of you at the time. On PS4 you will have the opportunity to experience that story played in chronological order, watching Jodie grow from a curious young girl to a powerful woman. We’re hoping you’ll get a kick out of this much-requested mode. We can’t wait to show you what they look like now… We’ll share more details on exactly when and how you can get your hands on these classic games soon!
Happenstance Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 Nice. Looking forward to finally trying Beyond and replaying Heavy Rain.
Hero-of-Time Posted June 16, 2015 Author Posted June 16, 2015 Nice. Looking forward to finally trying Beyond and replaying Heavy Rain. While I enjoyed Heavy Rain, I absolutely loved Beyond: Two Souls. For me, it was certainly the better of the two.
drahkon Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 Hm. Don't want the two game physical bundle as there's no point in replaying Heavy Rain when you know the plot twist. Not sure if I'll get Beyond digitally.
Shorty Posted June 16, 2015 Posted June 16, 2015 Aw man I just really enjoyed Beyond on PS Now, would've rather waited for a PS4 version.
Tales Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 Finally! I feared this was cancelled. I love both these games. BTS especially. A glitch kept me from platinum Heavy Rain so I would love another oppurtinity and replay BTS just because it's awesome. Would be nice with even more graphical improvement, and they are kind of implying it, but I'd buy them anyway. Will buy on disc, but I'd prefer if they were seperate release also on disc.
gaggle64 Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 This is another pair I'd very much like to try. Better clear my backlog first though, haven't even started Life Is Strange...
Hero-of-Time Posted November 19, 2015 Author Posted November 19, 2015 Beyond: Two Souls is arriving 24th November and Heavy Rain releases 1st March. Hello, PlayStation fans. I’m pleased to announce that Beyond: Two Souls is coming to PS4 next week, complete with graphical improvements and new fan-requested features. You’ll be able to download it from PlayStation Store starting November 24th for $29.99. Players will have another chance to experience the story of Jodie Holmes (played, excellently, by Ellen Page), a young woman who possesses supernatural powers through her psychic link to an invisible entity. Holmes’ journey is intertwined with the complex Dr. Dawkins (brought to life by the inimitable Willem Dafoe), on PS4. The PS4 edition of the game features a number of improvements: Enhanced 1080p graphics including motion blur, bloom and depth of field effects, as well as improved lighting and shadows. The game also makes use of the DualShock 4 speaker to improve immersion when playing as the Entity. Decisions are highlighted at the end of each scene and compared with those made by other players. Once you have completed Beyond: Two Souls, you will be able to replay the game in chronological order — a much requested feature in the PS3 version! Increased difficulty in certain fight scene, combined with improved controls for action sequences. Includes the “Enhanced Experiments” DLC
martinist Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 Well, looks like i'm gonna be buying these again.
Tales Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 I'd love to play it again with or without improvements, but I think I will wait for the physical version.
Fierce_LiNk Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 Wohoo, looking forward to playing both of these. Is Heavy Rain the better of the two? I saw my ex-housemate play the game and I've always wanted to have a go at it. Looks like my sort of thing.
Hero-of-Time Posted November 20, 2015 Author Posted November 20, 2015 Wohoo, looking forward to playing both of these. Is Heavy Rain the better of the two? I saw my ex-housemate play the game and I've always wanted to have a go at it. Looks like my sort of thing. Heavy Rain is regarded the better of the two ( probably because its more grounded ) but I probably prefer Beyond: Two Souls. I think both games are great and definitely worth a play, especially as you seem to be enjoying Until Dawn, which plays just like these games.
Tales Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 I don't understand why, I think they're both awesome games in their own way.
WackerJr Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 The wife and I are currently playing through Beyond (following how much she enjoyed the decision-making gameplay from Life Us Strange) and so far we're really enjoying it. It may only be because we're only a few hours in, but we are really yet to see whether the decisions we make have any effect on the story. Technically it is excellent and we are enjoying the story so far.
Tales Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 Anyone else getting this? To my surprise my copy got shipped yesterday, as I think the release date is this Wednesday actually. Still playing Far Cry though so it has to wait. But I will start with Heavy Rain first, it's been the longest since I played out of the two, and the only one I didn't get the platinum on, due to a glitch of some kind. But I'm looking forward to BTS the most, my favourite of the two. I think I will play through it in the original order. I never had a problem with the chapters not being in chronological order, in fact I didn't even know it was an issue for people until the announcement of the re-release. I could play it in chronological order for a new experience, but I'm worried it might ruin my great experience and memory of the original so I'll just play it in the way the director intended.
Ganepark32 Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 Been holding off on getting Beyond: Two Souls so that I can get both games together. Never had a chance to play either of them but been really interested in playing Beyond, Heavy Rain to a lesser extent but still interested in it at least. Out here next Friday so think I'll pick it up, if I don't pick up Far Cry Primal myself before hand, and finally see what they're both like, though when I actually sit down to play them is a different question as there's quite a pile of games waiting to be played/finished.

Fierce_LiNk Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 We've just started playing Heavy Rain and it's an absolute laugh so far. Ethan wakes up. Brushes his teeth badly, leaves half his facial hair whilst trying to shave and doesn't shower with any shampoo or soap. Says he should do some work before wife gets home...so he drinks JUICE OUT OF THE CARTON LIKE A FUCKING ANIMAL, then coffee and plays with a toy plastic sword outside. Such garden work. "Ethan, did you do any work?" "I tried but-" THIS IS ME. "Ethan, go and put the plates on the table." *needs precision timing and motion controls to put a plate on the table without making a sound*
Tales Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 You can acually do some genuine work stuff, go left at the back yard window into a small room. Anyway, have fun
Fierce_LiNk Posted February 20, 2017 Posted February 20, 2017 I started Beyond last night and I just couldn't put it down. I must be close to half-way through it already. I'm really enjoying it and I love the themes within the story. It also looks and sounds utterly beautiful, too.

Fierce_LiNk Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 I see you finished and enjoyed this. Good man. I love the game to bits. It blew my mind that Aiden was a twin. I remember being a like... I had predicted earlier in the game that Aiden was her Father, hence why he was ruining her date night. I wasn't that shocked then when it turned out to be her brother, because I wasn't that far off the mark.
Tales Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 I see you finished and enjoyed this. Good man. I love the game to bits. It blew my mind that Aiden was a twin. I remember being like... That blew my mind too. I know some people say they saw it coming but I sure didn't. Anyway,, fantastic game till the end. Detroit is going to be an amazing experience.

Detroit is going to be an amazing experience. Yeah, I'm really looking forward to Detroit now. The initial teaser piqued my interest, but I'm super excited now after playing Heavy Rain and Beyond. I want to play more games in the style of Heavy Rain. I love that crime/noir style. I'd class games like Hotel Dusk to be in the same style. Wish there were more of them.
