Julius Posted January 30, 2024 Posted January 30, 2024 (edited) Super Nintendo World is opening at the Universal Epic Universe theme park at Universal Orlando Resort in 2025: "Universal Epic Universe" sounds completely un-epic Edited January 30, 2024 by Julius 1
Julius Posted April 19, 2024 Posted April 19, 2024 (edited) DK must've slipped on a banana or something, because the opening of the Donkey Kong Country section of the park at Universal Studios Japan has been delayed to "late 2024". Quote Donkey Kong Country, which was previously scheduled to open in spring 2024, has been changed to late 2024. We apologize for any inconvenience caused to those who have been waiting. We will announce the opening date and other details as soon as they are decided. As Miyamoto once totally and famously espoused: Quote A delayed Donkey Kong Country section of Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios™ Japan is eventually good, but a rushed Donkey Kong Country section of Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios™ Japan is forever bad. Ashley Posted April 19, 2024 Posted April 19, 2024 Should have opened it in the UK where spring and "late" in the year is the same thing.

There is a small chance we may get one. Universal Studios are in very early talks to build a theme park in Bedfordshire. There were open meetings with anyone that wanted to attend over the last few weeks in Bedford and it seems from all accounts that the people that attended had no objections. there's still a long way to go and they need approval from government or something and then they can start building (they already have the land earmarked, and a bit of extra land they can purchase too.) If they get the go ahead, it could be around 5 years until opening.
Julius Posted May 2, 2024 Posted May 2, 2024 Quote Get your first look at the experiences at SUPER NINTENDO WORLD", one of five amazing worlds at Universal Epic Universe. From Super Mario Land" to Donkey Kong Country, hear from some of the park's creative team as they discuss the rides and attractions you'll discover when Epic Universe opens in 2025. "Universal Epic Universe" will never fail to make me laugh 2
Julius Posted October 18, 2024 Posted October 18, 2024 Super Nintendo World of Universal Epic Universe them park at Universal Orlando Resort is set to open on May 22nd 2025: "Universal" "Universe" "Universal" Such a stupid bunch of words to string together...
Helmsly Posted November 10, 2024 Posted November 10, 2024 (edited) There’s going to be a Super Nintendo World Direct to showcase the Donkey Kong Country area of the park on the 11th: Edited November 10, 2024 by Helmsly
Dcubed Posted November 12, 2024 Posted November 12, 2024 Seems a bit weird to me that the park is entirely focused around DKCR alone... except for one small cameo by Dixie. You'd think that they'd at least have a couple of Snowmads around.
Ashley Posted November 12, 2024 Posted November 12, 2024 I see Miyamoto continues to not allow others to speak on camera with him. He's such a Jenna.

I guess the rides announced are generic enough for the whole franchise that if a new title does release it won't be too hard to throw in some new enemy statues/costumes to go with the newer game
Ashley Posted November 12, 2024 Posted November 12, 2024 The video is old but in case anyone else hasn't seen it, it explains how the jumps work. It's quite simple but very clever. Spoilers for the ride I guess if that's a thing? 1
Julius Posted Wednesday at 09:52 AM Posted Wednesday at 09:52 AM (edited) Mentioned before by @BowserBasher that it was in early planning: Universal have now announced that they will be building a park in Bedford. (BBC News article if anyone wants to give it a read). The park is set to open in 2031. Construction aiming to start in 2026: Also felt relevant: No word on whether or not a Super Nintendo World will be included from what I can see, so I imagine it won't be planned for opening – but surely it would only be a matter of time, right? Will Posted Wednesday at 09:59 AM Posted Wednesday at 09:59 AM I had no idea where Bedford was, turns out its close enough to make a season pass viable. 6 minutes ago, Julius said: No word on whether or not a Super Nintendo World will be included from what I can see, but surely it would only be a matter of time, right? BowserBasher Posted Wednesday at 10:15 AM Posted Wednesday at 10:15 AM Awesome news. Might make that the closest big theme park to me so plenty of chances to go. Id hope they would at least consider Nintendo World as a starter. It seems to be popular in Japan and I’m sure it’ll bring in tons more people. 1
Dcubed Posted Wednesday at 10:16 AM Posted Wednesday at 10:16 AM Oh shit!!! That'd be just in time for me to bring my upcoming kiddo along!! Praying that this pans out as we are hoping!! 1
Dcubed Posted Wednesday at 10:26 AM Posted Wednesday at 10:26 AM This would be the second largest Universal Studios park if it goes ahead. Nice! 1

Hope this summer is an extra relaxing and restful one for you guys ahead of the awesome third player coming your way!! 1
Dcubed Posted Wednesday at 10:41 AM Posted Wednesday at 10:41 AM (edited) OH SHIT!! We could get a Rareware section!!! I bet that'd help grease the wheels of UK governmental approval! Honestly! I think there's a very solid chance that they will. I dunno if they'd highlight any of Rare's non-DK related games, but it's such an easy political win that I can't see them not at least highlighting Rare's contributions to DK within the DKC section of the theme park! And thank you @Julius, Triforce Heroes indeed! Edited Wednesday at 10:57 AM by Dcubed 1

bob Posted yesterday at 12:16 PM Posted yesterday at 12:16 PM I don't see why they would add a Nintendo section given that it has nothing to do with the UK. All the articles I've seen have mentioned James Bond, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings and Paddington, given that they are all original British IPs.

Harry Potter won't be part of it, due to the Warner Bros Studio Tour (I have no idea why it's called that when it's just Harry Potter). If the licensing changes by the time they do an expansion, it will be considered alongside Wicked and Nintendo.
Dufniall Posted yesterday at 02:13 PM Posted yesterday at 02:13 PM A friend of mine did some digging to check if a Nintendo area is plausible. His conclusions what will be there at opening: 007 (stuntshow) Paddington (kids area) Lord of the Rings area Minions (including a coaster) Jurassic Park/World (including the VelociCoaster) Back to the future (with a Delorean coaster) Harry Potter excluded like Cube mentioned because a rights issue with the Studio Tour located 40 mins away. If they can get the rights Harry Potter will probably be the first big expansion, otherwise Nintendo. Maybe Wicked if that gains a lot of popularity in the coming years.
