Retro_Link Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 (edited) Amazing! Edited June 2, 2014 by Shorty update video code
Shorty Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Not a lot to go on from a CG vid, but it would be pretty special if the next gen world of fighters looked close to that good.
Retro_Link Posted June 2, 2014 Author Posted June 2, 2014 I got the impression that video was largely based around gameplay. May be wrong though.
Shorty Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 You may be right, but to me it seems like they've just gone out of their way to make it look that way. If it was actual gameplay, they'd proudly state that at the beginning.
Retro_Link Posted June 2, 2014 Author Posted June 2, 2014 True, true... but is that still necessary for this generation now? I hope to be wowed I don't really expect them to have to tell me I should be. No doubt they've done things to it for the trailer, but it seemed like an evolution of Injustice, I terms of the fight almost telling a story and the interactive environments. Although like you say, maybe it has just been done to look that way. Good thing E3 is just around the corner! Makes me want to play MK9 now. I didn't have a PS3 at the time.
dazzybee Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 No one else thougt it felt slow? Some good stuff in there though. Do love mortal kombat games!
Retro_Link Posted June 2, 2014 Author Posted June 2, 2014 No one else thougt it felt slow? Some good stuff in there though. Do love mortal kombat games!Yeah I did notice that on the second viewing, and perhaps it lends more towards what Shorty was saying about it being made to look like gameplay. It was very physical for a Mortal Kombat match, but then it's a trailer so I guess it has to build. Who knows though, maybe they've just put more weight behind the hand to hand combat. Definitely excited to see more.
Daft Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Injustice has gotten my into Mortal Kombat, since they're quite similar. I'm looking forward to this. Can't wait to see what it looks like on next-gen. Particles, particles everywhere. While it was a CG trailer it looks like it was demonstrating new gameplay, like more interactive levels and contextual commands. We'll see.
Retro_Link Posted June 4, 2014 Author Posted June 4, 2014 Well that's one lame boxart! Hope it changes before launch.
Hero-of-Time Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 I was just listening to IGN Beyond podcast and they confirm that the trailer has (sub) zero gameplay footage in it.
Daft Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 I like the box art. Would be cool with a reverse cover of Sub Zero, too.
flameboy Posted June 6, 2014 Posted June 6, 2014 I was just listening to IGN Beyond podcast and they confirm that the trailer has (sub) zero gameplay footage in it. Yeah Giantbomb did the same on their podcast even mentioning the firm who made the trailer who are 100% not a developer so there is no chance it's gameplay footage. Either way I am super excited for this. I'm interested to see how following on from 9 where they take the story.
Daft Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 This looks so awesome. I can't wait. I hope there are level transitions.
dazzybee Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Nice fatality. Looking forward to this! When's this out?
EEVILMURRAY Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 Well that's one lame boxart! Hope it changes before launch. All it needs is a nice background and it'll be fine. Although they could try to look a little less Assassin's Creed about it.
Fierce_LiNk Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 I'm secretly pumped for this. Definitely in the mood for a new Mortal Kombat! Last one I played was...Deadly Alliance on the GameCube which was hnnnnnnnnnnggggg.
Daft Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 Injustice got me into Mortal Kombat. Can't wait to see the follow up to that, too. It should coincide with the release of the Justice League movie, too.
Fierce_LiNk Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 Injustice got me into Mortal Kombat. Can't wait to see the follow up to that, too. It should coincide with the release of the Justice League movie, too. Apparently, Injustice 2 is 2016. I really enjoyed it and can't wait to see what they do with the follow up. One thing I'd like to see is more stages and definitely more transitions between stages. The metropolis stage in three parts was excellent. The story was excellent and clearly they put a lot of effort into it. One of my favourite fighters.
Fierce_LiNk Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 I want this but feel guilty buying it when I've got other stuff to play, too. Think I'll wait a month or so before I clear the backlog before I go after this. Looks stunning, however.
