Edit: The story is finished. To see it all together, go to page three.

I'm sure all you forum oldies remember the CE Battle Royale, but for all you new people I'll explain what it was. After what seemed like a surge of interest after many users discovered the greatness that is the film Battle Royale, our main man Athriller decided it would be a good idea to make a CE Battle Royale, where people listed their names and Atif concocted a story using the films ideas and our usernames. It was a great success and loved by many, but unfortunately it was never finished. Now I bring you my RE story; but it's not using Battle Royale's plot, oh no. This time, I'm using the movie Saw.

The reason I'm doing this? I'm bored. Simple as that. I've already written the first chapter, have a detailed plan for the second and a loose plan for the rest. If all goes to plan, then the final chapter should be the sixth. All I need for this to work is your cooperation.

This will work a bit differently to Athriller’s story, as there are a limited amount of spots to be taken by you users. Not only that, but the type of person they are is already set in stone, so don't go expecting your character to be like you, he (Or she) will only have the same name as you, unless your personality fits your character, then it might work.

There will be no set time for updates; I will do it when I feel like it. I would advise that you pester me about updating so I don't forget though. Right then, these are the characters available, just post who you want to be, and if you are the first to choose that character, you get to have your name in my story. Here are the eleven possible characters:

1. A very greedy person - sarka

2. A religious extremist - dabookerman

3. Fakes a disability - dukkadukka

4. Owns a fixed casino - EEVILMURRAY

5. A hitman - The Twilighter

6. A very lazy person - bluejay

7. A racist person - JonSt

8. A very controlling person - Destiny Blade

9. Leads a double life - Athriller

10. An excessive gambler - Katie

11. Neglects their child - LazyBoy

Providing all goes well, I'll substitute the names in and post the first chapter tomorrow, and if you all like it, I'll continue. Oh and by the way, this story will not spoil either of the actual Saw movies for those who have not seen them.

Sorry to all those who missed out on parts, but the show must go on. I've also come up with a new policy. If your name does not start with a capital, it does now. It would just get too confusing trying to remember who did and who didn't. Whatever. Chapter one should be up soon.

Edit: The lord giveth.

RE Saw Chapter One

As Katie awoke she felt a searing pain in her head, the feeling was excruciating. She fell to her knees clutching her face, and then, as quickly as it came, the pain disappeared. She stood up and tried to make out any form of object, but it was too dark. The floor, it wasn’t the soft and cosy carpet of her bedroom; it was cold and hard on her feet. She didn’t recall drinking the night before; all she could remember was driving home to her family after a long day at work. How could she not remember where she was or how she got there?

“Hello? Is anybody there?â€

No response. Katie stumbled around to try and find a light switch, but to no avail. She continued to scan the wall with her palms, hoping to find anything that could be of use, until she came across a smooth surface, which after a quick tap, Katie believed to be made of metal. Her arms stretched out and began searching all around the metal area, and she found exactly what she was looking for: a doorknob. She twisted it, but it was no use; the door was definitely locked. She again began to feel her way around the wall, and felt a thick wire like object on one of them. BAM. Katie flew back onto the ground, a burning sensation in her hands. What was that? An electric shock?

Katie cowered and shut her eyes as a bright light flickered on. As she opened her eyes, all she could see was a brown blur with a bluish rectangle in the middle of it. Before her eyes properly focused, she began to wish that this was all a dream and that she was about to wake up any second now, but it never happened. The bluish rectangle revealed itself to be a large metallic door with a keyhole in the knob. She looked around and studied the room. It was in the shape of a triangle; it had three walls, two of which had fences covering them. She figured that they must be electric fences and that’s what gave her the shock. One of these walls seemed to be made of glass, but the other was more interesting. Katie could see through the other one, right into an exact replica of the very same room she was in. There was one major difference about the room she was looking into however, and that was the man dressed in a suit trying to break down his blue metallic door.

“Rise and shine everybody, I want to play a game.â€

It was at that point that Katie realised the speaker in the top corner of the room, currently booming out a deep and mysterious voice.

“Before we get started I’d like to take a moment to point out the electric fence covering the two glass walls. At this very moment the voltage is low enough just to give you a light shock, but right now it is being upped to a lethal amount. I’m sure you are all willing to give me the benefit of the doubt on that one. Now let me tell you a little bit more about this game I want to play. There will be winners, and there will be losers, this is guaranteed. But you yourselves are the people who decide who fits into which category. To win you must escape, but before you get your hopes up, it’s not that easy. You each have a task to complete before you are allowed to play for the grand prize of freedom, whether you complete it or not is up to you, but let me assure you, you don’t want to be a runner up in this particular game. The cassette player and tape that briefs you on your task is somewhere in the room you are currently in.

Now, onto more important things. I’m sure you have noticed that one of the glass walls is see through. And given that, I’m sure you have noticed that you can see into another contender’s room. It is in fact one-way glass, meaning that someone else can see you through the other wall. Go ahead, take a look. Accept for you, Bluejay. I suggest you don’t move at all. Nothing is sacred while you are playing this game, remember that.

Don’t think it’s over when you have completed your task though. All that will happen after it is finished is that you will be granted access to the main room, and given a key. In the middle of the main room is a trap door, which leads to your escape. The only problem is that you’ll need those keys you received to unlock it, one for every person alive. Let me clarify that. If you do not have the same number of keys in the trap door as there are people still alive in the game by the end of the time limit, then it will not open, in fact it will be permanently locked. If there is no way to escape your room, then you are as good as dead and will be treated in the same regard. You have exactly one hour. Let the games begin.â€

Katie found it extremely hard to take in what she had just heard. Was this some kind of sick joke? If it were real, then what kind of crazy freak would do this to her? And more importantly, why? Katie’s hands had started to swell up. So many questions ran through her head, “Were the electric fences really lethal now?†“If the man on the speaker really was telling the truth, who was watching her through the glass?†“How many other people were in this so called ‘game’?†There was one however, which immediately rose to the top of the questions she wanted answering: “Will I get out of here alive?â€

Fortunately, this is one question that could be answered, but only by herself.

This tape the man spoke of, she needed to find it. She looked around on the floor for it, which is where she found four panels with keyholes in them, along with six keys next to them. One of the panels didn’t have a keyhole on it, so she decided to open it. Inside was a cassette player with the tape already inside it. She sat down, braced herself, hit the play button and heard the same deep and mysterious voice again.

“Hello Katie, let me ask you this. How lucky do you consider yourself to be? Enough to gamble with your own life? After all that time you spent in the casino rather than with your loving family, I would have thought you would have at least a rough idea. Well now you don’t have a say in the matter. You must have noticed the other three panels on the floor. There are six keys next to them, all of them will fit, but only three of them will unlock the panel. You don’t have any second chances either; once you put a key in a hole, it will be locked into place and become unable to be removed. One of these panels contains the key to the door over there, and it will also work on the trap door in the main room, the others however, contain something slightly less enjoyable than safety. I do hope you are as lucky as you assure yourself you are every time you set foot in a casino Katie, because currently, the odds on your survival are not something I would bet on.â€

The room become silent once again. Katie looked at the floor where the panels were, and then back at the tape.

“What the fuck?â€

She grabbed the keys and walked over to the door, she tried to use them, but they wouldn’t fit. As she moved back towards the panels, the reality of the situation set in. This was about as real as things come, and she wasn’t going to wake up and shudder at the horrible nightmare she had just had. The searing pain returned. Yet again, Katie fell to her knees clutching her face. This time though, it didn’t go away. She tried to concentrate, and managed to put one of the keys in a hole. She twisted it … nothing happened. She attempted to pull the key back out, but it was stuck. Five more keys, and two more keyholes. Katie hoped for the best as she randomly grabbed another key and shoved it in the next hole. The pain was becoming almost unbearable now, but she managed to ignore it as she twisted the second key, which opened the panel. Inside were two flaps making it impossible to see inside. She reached in, and breathed a sigh of relief when she felt a key at the bottom of it. She pulled, but it was stuck; attached to something. She pulled again, this time harder, but it was no good. Her hand started aching again from the electric shock, and her adrenalin started to kick in. She yanked it a third and final time, and this time, something gave way. She heard a click, then a buzzing sound, and finally felt an enormous blow of air on her hand. Katie screamed in agony as the rotating blade cut her hand off, and she pulled it out of the hatch, blood gushing everywhere. She ran to the door and started smashing it with the hand that was still intact, and shouted for help despite knowing no one could hear her. For a final time, Katie fell to her knees, her hand fractured from hitting the door too hard, her screams slowly turning into sobs. She crawled into a ball on the floor, crying from the pain and thinking of her family, and how she would never see them again.

Although I haven't written them, I'm expecting this to be the longest chapter, mainly because it's both the intro and the first part combined.
