EEVILMURRAY Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 No artichoke? Wasn't happy when I first encountered it. I'll have to allign myself into using the MSN enter method instead.
jayseven Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 As with pretty much all facebook updates, it took me a 30 minutes to notice, then five seconds to go "oh they've changed again*" then I carry on with my fucking business.
nightwolf Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 I only find it irritating that facebook doesn't inform you of the changes, I don't particularly mind any of the stuff facebook has or doesn't have, but half the time these changes occur without me knowing about it until the next time I log in. Which is probably why I got so confused, like others, when I pressed enter and something was posted, but it feels just like msn to me.
MadDog Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 I got a little pop up telling me, that was while sending a message though. 99% of the time i only use Facebook on my phone anyway. Android FTW.
Paj! Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 It's inconvenient since I do often post more than just one line. But it does feel more streamlined now.
Pestneb Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 The only reason I have fb is to keep upto date with what's going on at uni, once I leave I shall follow one of my housemates lead and delete my account. Fb = pointless imo. of course millions appear to disagree...

How do you expect to find out before you log in?
flameboy Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 I think it works for something like facebook where your largely using short form. It would be annoying if say forums or blogs started to use this. Incidentally I know this has apparently rolled out to everyone but it hasn't to be I still have the button!
Paj! Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 I wonder how some people get "updated" before others...for instance I got the "new profile" automatically if I recall, but others had to "update" manually. And now I automatically got the "new messages" (seems pointless/could potentially add since now it doesn't matter if they go offline as they'll see what you wrote when they come back) but I see on profiles a little things saying "X isn't using the New Messages yet". This update was automatic for me.
jayseven Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 Ok so contrary to what I said earlier... facebook is now 'offering' you a facebook email address. I can't read my message until I get a new email and set up mobile bullshit. BULLSHIT. Like, I'd be all "ok..." if I could have the email I wanted. Liek, the first ten things I'd have are taken. bacefook wasn't taken THEN IT WAS after I clicked it. Lies. Gay. I want to read my message.

I've tried emailing mine and nothing happens.
Jimbob Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 Hehe, typed in Facebook email on the search. Got Trillian Astra. Where you finding this email, i got no message.
Cube Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 Go to the messages page and it should be near the top. There's also a text messaging thing but they don't explain what texts they'll send you.
jayseven Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 It won't even let me see my messages page - as soon as it loads then so do the in-window 'pop-ups' that are trying to guide me through this BULLSHITTERY.

ReZourceman Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 Updates tend to spread across FB in batches if it is anything like possible similar things recently if I am not mistaken which I might be.

This update was automatic for me. They roll out changes gradually to users to ease the process. In terms of the new profile, they gave people the option to upgrade to it early as a sort of beta testing for it. After a certain time period everyone got it automatically.
Wesley Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 Who cares, you were probably only typing shit anyway.
Jimbob Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 Depends on how many people want to use facebook email. Most people, like myself are probably comfortable using the service they have already. As i always do, i'll check out the service. And if i don't like it, i'll stop using it.
Dannyboy-the-Dane Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 It just annoys me when sites like force you to use a specific service. Like YouTube suddenly demanded that you link a Google account to your YouTube account.

Dannyboy-the-Dane Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 Probably because Youtube are owned by Google. Of course, but why force stuff on people? I'm telling you, it's all part of Google's plan for world domination.
