Ashley Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 It's worrying that I understand you that well that I could infer what you meant...
Cube Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 My boss has asked me to completely re-do the website. Which is good as the current CMS (a heavily modified Magento) is ultra slow. And I really enjoy building the websites. Much more than keeping them updated with new products. This time I'm using Joomla.
Shorty Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 Is it an online store? Strange to use Magento if not. If so, check out the Hikashop component.
Charlie Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 My boss has asked me to completely re-do the website. Which is good as the current CMS (a heavily modified Magento) is ultra slow. And I really enjoy building the websites. Much more than keeping them updated with new products. This time I'm using Joomla. I know exactly how you feel there, mate! Updating with products is so boring! I was redoing the website at work for them but because the other office worker is back I haven't been needed for the past few days. When my boss eventually realises he needs me back to do this for him as going anywhere else would be really expensive I'll be up-ing the price I'm charging him and charging it to my new market business, which he'll be the first client of.
Cube Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 Is it an online store? Strange to use Magento if not. Surprisingly, no. We do have products on there but it's not a shop (hence why it was heavily modified - I tore out all the shop bits). Back then I was hopeless at modifying themes so I found the look we wanted and just used that software (which happened to be Magento) We do have a separate online shop which I re-did recently (for similar reasons - Magento was really slow) which was built with OpenCart.
Shorty Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 Yeah even a vanilla install of Magento needs a beast of a server. It's a very powerful CMS though, used by a lot of big names... Nokia, Adidas, Cinderblock, I'mjustreadingofftheirshowcase.
Goafer Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 Today was my last work day for a week. Weston-Super-Shithole here I come!
Eddage Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 Today was my last work day for a week. Weston-Super-Shithole here I come! Why the hell are you going to that dump? Especially during the Easter holidays when it'll be full of trailer trash-esqe holiday makers?
Happenstance Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 Why the hell are you going to that dump? Especially during the Easter holidays when it'll be full of trailer trash-esqe holiday makers? I think you just answered your own question
Goafer Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 This neck isn't going to redden itself. Need that special kind of redness that only Weston-Super-Trailerpark can provide.

Frank Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 Go on to google and watch the short film celebrating Charlie Chaplin. It's lovely Very quirky, modern yet still classic feeling. (Too much praise for this?)
nightwolf Posted April 16, 2011 Author Posted April 16, 2011 Nutella filling and peanut butter topped cupcakes. NOM. Made my day.

MoogleViper Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 I've fixed my car and then installed my stereo. Then I took my sister's dog on a bike ride. And I've just cleaned my car. Pretty good methinks. Also all the freckles on my arm have come up from the sun.
Ashley Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 The cat just gave me a high five! It looked a little something like this:
Goafer Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 With all the talk of dogs and bikes, I totally forgot why I came in here in the first place. I just learned the bass line from The Chain by Fleetwood Mac.
Dannyboy-the-Dane Posted April 17, 2011 Posted April 17, 2011 (edited) Have had a great weekend with a friend which consisted mostly of playing through Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney again (plus an epic game of Stratego). Was awesome. http://www.n-europe.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1306450&postcount=1259 Edited April 17, 2011 by Dannyboy-the-Dane
