nightwolf Posted January 8, 2012 Author Posted January 8, 2012 Beating Jay at chess is quite an achievement, I was terrible compared to him. So erm looking at flats, found a few I really like, not in Cambridge mind, but that conversation is for another day. Took my jacket back to River Island, went into Newlook and roughly the same jacket was there for half the price, so I grabbed that and some decent boots for under 100quid . Huzzah. Until you know I got stuck in the carpark because I lost my pass thing and had to pay 6quid to get out...boo!
Wesley Posted January 8, 2012 Posted January 8, 2012 YEA MUTHAFUCKA TAKE HIM DOWN J7! Edit: Treating chess like boxing doesn't work apparently.
Cube Posted January 8, 2012 Posted January 8, 2012 YEA MUTHAFUCKA TAKE HIM DOWN J7! Edit: Treating chess like boxing doesn't work apparently. That's why they invented chessboxing.
LegoMan1031 Posted January 8, 2012 Posted January 8, 2012 Beating Jay at chess is quite an achievement, I was terrible compared to him. I normally am terrible compared to him! Revenge number 1. Ruthless! Back to how it should be....
jayseven Posted January 8, 2012 Posted January 8, 2012 Revenge 2 and 3 were also rather coldly served :P
LegoMan1031 Posted January 8, 2012 Posted January 8, 2012 Revenge 2 and 3 were also rather coldly served :P Yeah... lets not go there (in particular Revenge 2)
Jimbob Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 Started job searching again. It's not a bad thing, it's good really. Means that i'm thinking about after my contract at HMRC expires.
The Bard Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 Spent the last two days really refining my hybrid picking (a guitar technique where you use a pick as well as your middle and index finders) and written some pretty fantastic flowing arpeggios. First time I've felt a sense of accomplishment in months
jayseven Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 As part of The Great Purge, I took a bunch of my games to CEX (still got 14 games here) and made £149.80, which I'm fairly chuffed with. They said I could've had £210ish if I did part-exchange, plus there was a lady who came in after me with a stack of dvds who they fobbed off, saying "we're not doing cash purchases today, only part-exchange. I win!
Goafer Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Figured this is the place for this: UK contestants take note, that is how you bust out a proper sob story.
Wesley Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 God I can't stand that sort of tripe. Put this in the bad stuff section because it stands for everything I hate.
jayseven Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Well. It made me cry a little! edit: I don't cry easily, but 10 years on the streets and staying humble? That guy deserves respect.
Paj! Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Yeah, it's a sad story, but the video I found almost funny due to the typical talent show editing/judges crying/asking questions about his past after being prompted to do so...if it was slightly more tongue in cheek it could've been a script for a spoof of talent show sob stories. Sad that it's true of course but the video was "...". I loved the judge's faces.
Wesley Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 I loved the judge's faces. Racist... Wait no you said love... Er... Opposite... racist. Normal?
Dannyboy-the-Dane Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 My god, you people are a bunch of cynical bastards. This is the good stuff thread. BE HAPPY, DAMN IT.
Dannyboy-the-Dane Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Happy he suffered? Yes. Yes, of course. That's exactly what I meant.
Cube Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 I've just been told how my bonus will be done, and it seems pretty generous. Without giving figures. For every £X amount of profit we earn above £Y profit each month, I'll get a £Z bonus.
Coolness Bears Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 lets just say it moved him....TO A BIGGER HOUSE. Oops, I said the quiet part loud and the loud part quiet. :p
