Cube Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 I prefer making my own, but I noticed that my Grandma has a pack of microwavable pancakes.
Dannyboy-the-Dane Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 It's pancake day, pancake day. Pppppp-pancake day!* (*interweb points to anyone who knows what that's from) Dunno, made me think of c-c-c-combo breaker. *shrugs* I don't see why we have to cut out the love in order to make pancakes though. Well, you don't have to, but Pancake Day is sort of what we singles seek comfort with in the wake of V-Day.
Ashley Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 Well, you don't have to, but Pancake Day is sort of what we singles seek comfort with in the wake of V-Day. I resent the notion that single people need to "seek comfort" as if singledom is some kind of social disease. Furthermore suggesting we seek comfort in food makes us sound like that slag Bridget Jones.
Retro_Link Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 but Pancake Day is sort of what we singles seek comfort with in the wake of V-Day. Maybe that's what you do.
Jon Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 I resent the notion that single people need to "seek comfort" as if singledom is some kind of social disease. Furthermore suggesting we seek comfort in food makes us sound like that slag Bridget Jones. Never a truer word said, I'm single out of choice. These are the years for me to enjoy life, plenty of time to be shackled down later on. That's what My Dad always drummed into me anyway.

Furthermore suggesting we seek comfort in food makes us sound like that slag Bridget Jones. I never implied that, and if I did, I didn't word it properly. While it isn't the case for everyone, some singles are unhappy about being single. Maybe that's what you do. It's the impression I had gotten from some people. Maybe I misunderstood something. Never a truer word said, I'm single out of choice. These are the years for me to enjoy life, plenty of time to be shackled down later on. That's what My Dad always drummed into me anyway. Then that's good for you. I think it depends on what values your brain has adopted growing up.
Ashley Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 What part of "we singles seek comfort" suggests anything but single people seek comfort?
MoogleViper Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 Well, you don't have to, but Pancake Day is sort of what we singles seek comfort with in the wake of V-Day. DON'T BE STUPID!!! *puts on manly facade and pretends he doesn't need women, and is glad he's single, because that's his choice, and he could get a girlfriend if he wanted to*
Dannyboy-the-Dane Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 What part of "we singles seek comfort" suggests anything but single people seek comfort? I was making a generalisation, one which I have since come to understand was not very accurate. As I said, I was of the impression that some single people view Pancake Day that way, and to be fair it isn't impossible that some do.

But then, to me the whole human race is fucking bizarre.

I think it depends on what values your brain has adopted growing up. I'm 24, always been single and have no plans to change that in the near future. Relationships just don't interest me, maybe once I've settled down, got a decent job and home my view will change. Pancakes! What batter mix are you folk using? I've got two packets of the Sainsbury's one. I'm having lemon juice and sugar on mine. - The way they're meant to be! Bizarre people. But then, to me the whole human race is fucking bizarre. We're just a bunch crazy and mutated apes/animals.

Relationships just don't interest me, maybe once I've settled down, got a decent job and home my view will change. Trust me, I envy you. I wish I could not care about romantic/sexual relationships, but it is unfortunately a sad fact that I'm nearly being driven crazy by my inability to get a girlfriend or, heck, even just score with a girl. I don't dream about finding "the one" right now - that I have plenty of time for - but my self esteem is being crushed at the moment. But enough of my whining.

If you're talking strictly about sexual relations, then I agree 100%
Fierce_LiNk Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 Paaaaaaaaaaancaaaaaaaaaaaaake. Daaaaaaaaaaaay. I lost all sense of time being here, but Ine reminded me this morning that it was Pancake Day. So, we made a mountain of...about 8 Pancakes. (Ine says it was 6. Awww. Some mountain! ) They tasted beautiful. Avec le sucre. Mmmmm. I have cravings for more now, but I don't want to have to wait a whooooole another year before then. Edit: Also, I have never found any relation between Pancake Day and Singledom. Pancake is all about the pancakes and the sugar, baby.
Coolness Bears Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 I've never thought about a relationship. I constantly think about pancakes though. I barely get how friendships work. :p I do know however that friends make you pancakes for dinner! Which is what is going down this evening. Both Savoury and Sweet. OM NOM NOM!
Fierce_LiNk Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 I barely get how friendships work. :p Once you've done one side, flip eet over, do eet again, then pour sugar on top.
Ashley Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 Once you've done one side, flip eet over, do eet again, then pour sugar on top. I'm pretty sure I've seen that porno.
Coolness Bears Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 Once you've done one side, flip eet over, do eet again, then pour sugar on top. Haha! That made me laugh, stupidly! I will ask my friend if she wants to be flipped over. (she'll be cool with it. ) I'm so ridiculously hungry for pancakes. EMERGANCY WE ARE OUT OF BUTTER I REPEAT OUT OF BUTTER!
Dannyboy-the-Dane Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 If you're talking strictly about sexual relations, then I agree 100% Nah, not just, though it is of course a part of it. But yeah, less whining, more pancakes! Don't wanna bring down the mood! Code red! CODE RED!
Nolan Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 I just made meself some yummy pancakes with a side of bacon.
Coolness Bears Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 Code red! CODE RED! We are doing it without butter. We are that hardcoreness Bears. According to my friend I do not have the strength to flip her over. I just about have the strength to lift and pour a bag of sugar on her though. :p OH MARY JANE! new rule: You have to play this while flipping yo' pancakes. and repeat! Or remixed:
Eddage Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 What batter mix are you folk using? I've got two packets of the Sainsbury's one. Why do people need to buy pancake mix? I just don't understand. I mean just buy the eggs, milk and flour...
The Lillster Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 Something I cooked up earlier: Why do people need to buy pancake mix? I just don't understand. I mean just buy the eggs, milk and flour... I've never thought about doing it from scratch.
Jimbob Posted February 16, 2010 Posted February 16, 2010 Ah, pancake day. Such a good day i believe. It's just a pity that no-one can be asked in this house to make them, except me. And i seem to be the only one who fancies a few pancakes. More for me i say. Sugar and Lemon for the winz here.!!!
