D_prOdigy Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Probably the least input effort threads we have. lol... ... "input"...
EEVILMURRAY Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Exactly. Not to sound like I'm bragging, but I think I'm the only one who brings actual variety to those threads.
ReZourceman Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 I feel the same way about ReZ. See even if we weren't lovers I know you'd be lieing when you said that. Exactly. Not to sound like I'm bragging, but I think I'm the only one who brings actual variety to those threads. Outragous. I post a different message to each one.
Dannyboy-the-Dane Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 (edited) Raining just came up with a great idea: How about a news thread? Also, I think it's important that we keep a very open policy about threads and their contents (no, I'm not arguing for pornographic threads, you dirty minds). I only think we should lock a thread if it breaks rules. If it's simply uninteresting or generally badly made, let it die its own peaceful death. Edited June 10, 2009 by Dannyboy-the-Dane
EEVILMURRAY Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Outragous. I post a different message to each one. That's why I said think but you know I know you know what I mean. Raining just came up with a great idea: How about a news thread? Sounds similar to the serious discussion idea said earlier.
bluey Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Raining just came up with a great idea: How about a news thread? *ahem*... dude what da shit??!

Dannyboy-the-Dane Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 O_O' ... Mommy ... If you're talking about the serious thread, I missed it. Sorry. Please don't kill me. I have a wife and three sons in college!
Dannyboy-the-Dane Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 your wife is in college?! you cradle snatcher! Hey, YOU were the one who sent me to the PornHub forums! Don't tell me you didn't know young girls hang out there!
Ganepark32 Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 This is, quite frankly, ridiculous. Regardless of whether or not you agree with what Dan Dare did, and in my case I do agree with his closing of the threads, he is a mod and as such his decision is final unless an admin over turns it. Why this needed to spawn it's own thread is beyond me, and I'm sure this has turned up several times before after threads have been closed. I think it's about time this closed. It's not really serving a point.
Bren Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Its a mutiny YARGGHH Why does a mod have the right to decide what we the posters find boring? they dont, surely it isnt hard for someone to just not click into the thread once theyve decided its boring?

Wooo hes a MOD yawn lol.
Noodleman Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 A sensible solution to this. Create a Serious Discussion board/thread where we can talk about issues that are serious. Like religion and stuff like that. Would actually be the worst idea in the world. This place already has too many boards and massive generic threads really.
EEVILMURRAY Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Would actually be the worst idea in the world. This place already has too many boards and massive generic threads really. That's why the mould was being broken, which was bad apparently.

Not really a proper reason.
MoogleViper Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Outragous. I post a different message to each one. Me to. I always change the name after the "happy birthday..."
Jimbob Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Would actually be the worst idea in the world. This place already has too many boards and massive generic threads really. ZU, the other web-board i visit now and then has a Serious Disussion board which is doing quite well. Its been active for about a year or so now (the SD board). Last new topic in there is about a boy roasting his kitten in an oven (EEVIL, don't get any ideas or Mr Bigglesworth won't be pleased.) Anyway, its an idea anyway.
Daft Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Raining just came up with a great idea: How about a news thread? Sounds exactly like the current affairs thread that no one used. http://n-europe.com/forum/showthread.php?t=23618 Everyone should just chill. Chances are you haven't got anything interesting to add anyway.
Ramar Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Its a mutiny YARGGHH Why does a mod have the right to decide what we the posters find boring? they dont, surely it isnt hard for someone to just not click into the thread once theyve decided its boring? Sounds about right, I was really looking forward to the discussion in the gaming related shooting thread. I was ready to reprise my role as one of those "some other posters". But yeah, freedom of discussion within the rules of the forum. If it's a crap thread it'll disappear off the first page within in a few days so whats the big deal...
Oxigen_Waste Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 A sensible solution to this. Create a Serious Discussion board/thread where we can talk about issues that are serious. Like religion and stuff like that. Why???????????????????????????????????????? Anyway, Dan, you over reacted a bit. :awesome:
S.C.G Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 The thread might as well have been left open tbh, it would have died either by now or tomorrow anyway.
Paj! Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Let me be your guide, put away your pride Future lovers hide love inside their eyes. ---- To be honest, I'm incredibly bored of reading shit news stories about babies kiling each other and their mum. Ones I might find interesting are the actual videogame related ones, like that one where the guy jumped on a turtle after playing Mario or whatever. Not because some american family left their shotgun loaded/had a gun in the first place. Just in the future, if there's already 2 threads of a similar news story, don't post a third. No need for a depressing/news thread. N.B One thing that annoys me, but shouldn't is the lack of a "Birthday thread". Maybe it's just cause Birthday threads clutter up my eyes, or the titles are misleadingly interesting, but they annoy me. That said. it's nice to be recognised by fellow forumers. But I don't post in birthday threads, not because I hate the person, but because I'm hardly going to wish anyone an un'happy birthday am I?
Gizmo Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Its a mutiny YARGGHH Why does a mod have the right to decide what we the posters find boring? they dont, surely it isnt hard for someone to just not click into the thread once theyve decided its boring? To be fair, as moderator Dan has to really be reading all the threads. He's got to watch over a topic like that in case it goes in the wrong direction, which means if it does stick to the predictable posts as he described its wasted time for him. To be honest, I'm incredibly bored of reading shit news stories about babies kiling each other and their mum. Ones I might find interesting are the actual videogame related ones, like that one where the guy jumped on a turtle after playing Mario or whatever. Not because some american family left their shotgun loaded/had a gun in the first place. Lucky for everyone then that you aren't a moderator, and therefore do not need to read such threads, and therefore have no reason to moan.
