ReZourceman Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 (edited) UPDATE; I suspect people are seeing this thread and being put off by the fact its a comic. To those people ; Fuck you. Okay. Invincible is a comic book. 95% of everyone who reads it, falls in love with it. We want to make sure that as many people as possible have exposure to it. What we are proposing is for the first two small graphic novels (approximately £7.50 each, total £15) to be GROUP purchased. We all put a bit of money in. The more people who want to do it, the less we pay each etc. One person reads it, and then sends it on to the next person on the list. A communal renting copy, if you will. Any interest? --------- Current list 1) Daniel 2) Ten10? Edited March 21, 2009 by ReZourceman
Happenstance Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 I must warn you though, there has also been talk of a complete Invincible take over of N-Europe so this could do more damage than you might think
Shorty Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 I recently tried to organise... something similar to this. I think it helps if you point out how cheap it could be For example, the actual cost is V1, Family Matters £6.49, V2, Eight is enough £6.99 on amazon (£13.48) if 10 people show interest, it's £1.35 each. If 20 people show interest it's only 68 pence each. The hardcover is only £15 on amazon atm but it would cost more to post. Invincible is very awesome. I urge anyone with the slightest interest in comics to check it out
EEVILMURRAY Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 Where would one obtain this £7.50 copy? Everywhere I go online has it for £17. I understand there is a difference in the flaccidity of the back, yet I am yet to find the floppy version.
Mundi Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 What I´m more interested in is who is that 5% that did not like it!?

ReZourceman Posted March 20, 2009 Author Posted March 20, 2009 (edited) Where would one obtain this £7.50 copy? Everywhere I go online has it for £17. I understand there is a difference in the flaccidity of the back, yet I am yet to find the floppy version. The £17 one is the preferred version, its 13 issues, much bigger than the smaller ones (but as Shorty said itll be cheaper this way) I suggest recorded delivery also. I'd also say even if you're not into comics, don't be put off. Its just another method of telling a story. If you like movies, books or TV shows, then theres no excuse to not want to experience a fantastic story. did they outlaw libraries while i was in japan?? O_o A) Very few libraries will hold it' date=' let alone the first two volumes (which is important, and will be obvious when read) B) If you tell people to go to a library, hardly any people will actually do so. C) This is easy, the only responsibility you have is to send it onto someone when you're done.[/color'] Edited March 20, 2009 by ReZourceman Automerged Doublepost
darksnowman Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 I'd be up for it if you were looking to evangelise the Dark Tower comics!
Dan_Dare Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 pretty cool idea. I won't partake though Everyone else should, mind. I'm just set on owning it all myself sooner or later.
EEVILMURRAY Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 TPB: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Invincible-Family-Matters-v-1/dp/1582407118/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1237549735&sr=1-6 Hardcover: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Invincible-Ultimate-Collection-v/dp/158240500X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1237549735&sr=1-1 I saw that, but because it had Family Matters slammed across it, I wasn't sure if it was a side story.
jayseven Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 I'm pretty sure Shorty owns some Invincible, and I think Dan just bought vol.2 ... But I'm up for it. Sign me urp!
ReZourceman Posted March 20, 2009 Author Posted March 20, 2009 The names of the TPBs are all named after sitcoms. (None of which I've heard of lol) [/special fact]
jayseven Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 I've no idea what you're talking about. Just put me on a damn list. You realise if I'm the only one purchasing, I ain't sharing it with noone.
Daniel Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 Ill go on the list, was thinking of purchasing anyway
Paj! Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 I won't go on the list, as I'm buying it all myself (for myself), and I'm greedy. I previously would have been up for sharing, but now I have money. And I'm pretty sure I'll love it.
EEVILMURRAY Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 I won't go on the list, as I'm buying it all myself (for myself), and I'm greedy. Me too!
Ten10 Posted March 20, 2009 Posted March 20, 2009 Sounds pretty interesting, and I'll probably end up buying all for myself too. Also need to factor in recorded at maybe a quid, or whatever,
Shorty Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 I'm pretty sure Shorty owns some Invincible, and I think Dan just bought vol.2 ... But I'm up for it. Sign me urp!I own the first 3 hardcover volumes :/ covering the first 35 issues.
EEVILMURRAY Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 I own the first 3 hardcover volumes :/ covering the first 35 issues. Is that better value than the floppy covers?
DomJcg Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 Is that better value than the floppy covers? By 3 pounds overall or something.
ReZourceman Posted March 21, 2009 Author Posted March 21, 2009 Is that better value than the floppy covers? Its quite even I think...just slightly better value. But when you get into it you'll be glad you have the sexier versions.
DomJcg Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 ReZatron i bought vols 8 and 9, should arrive by the 25th, i'm bricking excitment
EEVILMURRAY Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 I've taken the plunge. I've ordered Volume 1. Along with starting my free trial of Amazon Prime, I heavily doubt I'll be using it after the trial is done.
