Goron_3 Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 Waking up over the last few days and looking out the window, all i see are fields of snow, and what a sight it is. It's amazing how such a boring area is able to look so brilliant cos of the snow. Then it got me thinking, what other things have i seen that are so amazing. I can think of one that clearly comes to mind, and that is that near my housr there is a massive park region which leads to this massive hill..when the sun sets there it really is something (need to get me a pic i think). Made for some romantic moments I tell ya OH! And Niagara Falls in Canada, what an amazing place So yeah, any areas near you or places you have visited that have made your jaw drop? Pictures would be good! Goron.
Raining_again Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 I live right beside a river, its pretty beautiful in the middle of the summer. I found a hedgehog there once! ^^; Ireland is lovely, lots of rain means lots of trees and plants grow. I'll upload some pictures and put them on tomorrow!
Pookiablo Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 If you want some gorgeous countryside, decorated with old, vintage buildings then I suggest coming to Bath and setting up camp on top of a hill. It's one of the main reasons why I adore living here!

Letty Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 Mmmm, when I lived in Quarff, this was the view from our front room As much as Shetland has it's downsides, its quite nice. Edit: Another wierd beach place nearby:
Dante Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 Edit: Another wierd beach place nearby: wow! nice
rizz Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 Letty that is damn nice. As convenient as they are, I hate towns and cities. One of my main goals in life is to move the hell away from them!
EEVILMURRAY Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 A quality rack. Edit: Another wierd beach place nearby: Is that actually natural?
Letty Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 A quality rack. Is that actually natural? Yup. There used to be a road that went along the spindly bit, but its kinda gone now
Goron_3 Posted February 8, 2009 Author Posted February 8, 2009 letty that beach place looks incredibleee! Would definately love to have 2 houses when I'm older, one in the city and one in a quiet place like that where it's just so peaceful. On the way to town from school everyday i cross over a bridge which has a river flowing underneath it. On hot days where the water levels are low and you can see the fish and rocks and the bottom, it's one hell of a site. Oh. Snow is beginning to melt outside. woop!
Coolness Bears Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 Seriously awesome Letty! I love going on holiday as it takes me to all sorts of places. There are many views I've seen when travelling up the remote Hills in all sorts of different countries! The views always amaze and inspire me. It is delightful to see how beautiful the world truly is. You don't get that sense from where I live. :p Here are two Pictures of me from Italy last summer. These pictures don't do the sight justice but it was breathtaking. I was so high up and when I wasn't chasing the cows I was sitting near the edge just contemplating. As I said before it made me feel small and insignificant in a good way!
Emasher Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 I'm going to have to take a look through my photos.
Noodleman Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Niagara Falls is horrible, I mean the falls themselves are o.k but all the shit the Candians have built round them utterly ruin it. The fact the closest building to the falls is a concrete monstrosity of a casino says it all. Just a few places I have been this year only one is my photo though: Iguassu Falls (on the border of Brazil and Argentina): So so so so so so so much better than Niagara Falls, a lot bigger as well its literally breathtaking. Pictures don't rally do it justice. Queenstown (New Zealand): There are much better pictures online but this is the view I had fromt he hostel I stayed in, could happily wake up to that view every morning. Fraser Island (Australia): The worlds largest natural sand Island or something, also the only sand island with a rain forest. Its brilliant has loads of massive freshwater lakes you can swim in, a 60 mile long beach and dingoes what more could you want.
Dannyboy-the-Dane Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 I know this can in no way compare to the other photos in here, but it's what I can contribute with. It's the view I have from the door in my room. The image was taken a few minutes ago.
Twozzok Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 These are all from Chamonix I think. I really like being inside a glacier EDIT: Should work now.
Mundi Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Wow a lot of these pics look incredible. I need to get on my dads laptop got some quite lovely pics from Norway.
Jimbob Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 I'll take a look when i get home for any nice pics i got from holidays and stuff. Really good pics in here so far, some of them are too awe inspiring for words alone. Edit: here are some snaps
Paj! Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Walt Disney Boardwalk, Orlando, Florida I find these pictures absolutely stunning. Not just because I took them, lol, but because they're like a painted landscape. It was a beautiful evening to be walking along the peaceful boardwalk with my family, then having an amazing dinner.
Esequiel Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Just want to pop in and express myself. Wow... I think thats all.
Rummy Posted February 10, 2009 Posted February 10, 2009 I'm guessing I'm not actually allowed to post my face in this thread, but let me assure you, it's pretty breathtaking! Though on a serious note, I've never really seen much that strikes or hits me with massive wows, except the forest I was in last monday, so covered in snow and so untouched. Went through shaking lighter trees as we later walked through, just to give the falling snow! For me, I tend to find some single photos of some things so mediocre and taken for granted, simply amazing.
Ashley Posted February 10, 2009 Posted February 10, 2009 A bit of a different interpretation of the title than everyone else but here's some ducks (thus, more the beauty of nature rather than a naturally beautiful landscape)! Its quite nice that on my walk to/from town in the summer I get to see these ducklings grow up to be ducks. Anyway this was from near the start of the summer;
Pookiablo Posted February 10, 2009 Posted February 10, 2009 Ah I've been to Bath before, awesome place Oh and btw, awesome signature quote (S&M is too good lol). Although I don't want to send this thread off-track, many thanks, S&M is indeed awesome. Another one of my favourite views was from the top of Whistler mountain when I travelled to Canada about 4 years ago now (Summer 2005, I think) when I was visiting my ex-girlfriend. I went here with her family for the day - it was pretty amazing, went up in a cable car and got to see the view found below (not my own photo unfortunately). It was awesome, not something you usually get to see whilst in the UK!
