DiemetriX Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 Recommend me or share with us your favorite Summer music I'm trying to make a summer playlist but my mind draws a blank. Personally I'm looking for summer music with a lot of energy.
Ashley Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 Ah you see my summer music is more laid back; Bebel Gilberto, Devendra Banhart, Air and such.
Paj! Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 Goldfrapp's Seventh Tree. Hercules & Love Affair - Hercules & Love Affair RóisÃn Murphy - Overpowered.
gARYgREATIE* Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince - Summertime Say no more.
Indigo Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 Feels by Animal Collective is a great experimental summer record. It's vibrant, loose and bright. Pet Sounds by Beach Boys is a given. Any recent Flaming Lips record. And lastly Reveal by REM. You can't go wrong with a bit of cool jazz on a summer evening either. Miles Davis, Coltrane et al.
DiemetriX Posted May 10, 2008 Author Posted May 10, 2008 The Secret Handshake - Summer of '98 ^_^ This is great tnx Yerba buena - guajira Is another great summer song
Coolness Bears Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 Is it Summer yet? (the seasons confuse me!) Also I'd choose anything by Laura Marling for some reason. I like listening to relaxing music in the sun.
Dan_Dare Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 The Sleepy Jackson and Simian's second album, we are your friends are ace summer tunes.
Paj! Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 Is it Summer yet? (the seasons confuse me!) Also I'd choose anything by Laura Marling for some reason. I like listening to relaxing music in the sun. She's the best talent of 2008 so far, for me, but her songs aren't particularly summery, except maybe Shine, Your Only Doll and A,ICS. But overall it's much more of a September/October album, with all the rain sound effects and night references. Scarlet's Walk by Tori Amos as an album is perfect for summer, as it's all about a sun-drenched road trip of self discovery and what not.
Daft Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 Daft Punk Justice Phoenix Danger Simian Simian Mobile Disco Stardust DJ Shadow Villains Soulwax Air Mr. Oizo.

Nintendohnut Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 Every time I hear In the Morning by The Coral I immediately think of summer, I have no idea why but it is AWESOME
MoogleViper Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 The Verve - Urban Hymns The thrills are summery to me.
McMad Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 King of Carrot Flowers - Neutral Milk Hotel Most of In the Airplane Over the Sea is great for the Summer. Just don't pay too much attention to the lyrics. Summer Dress by Red House Painters is a nice summery song.
Charlie Posted May 11, 2008 Posted May 11, 2008 The Kooks first album reminds me of 2 summers ago because we listened to it so much when sitting out in the park or wherever. Great album in general. Apart from that I don't really have any Summer music.

I was thinking Laura was more October as well but listening to her while mowing was just relaxing for some reason. I'll give Tori Amos a try for summer.
