Prince of Persia

This game is wonderful and there's a massive plus point about the game which I think no one here has mentioned and (IMO) it's that the camera is perfect, it never gets in the way and follows the Prince perfectly. Something that other games of this genre rarely nails. *points at Sonic and Tomb Raider Underworld*

I'm at the point of picking up the first batch of Light things, and can't seem to find a way to acquire some of them. Any tips.

Btw, they seem to be located on the outer wall of the area where you cast the light back into the land.

Some you won't be able to get straight away, you'll need different powers to access the paths.

I wish Play.com would hurry up. They used to be good at posting stuff very quickly.

Play are cack at delivering, sometimes I get it next day; others I wait 3 weeks for. It's ridiclous. Luckily it's a worthwhile game to play.

I final got all the powers and I'm taking a break from it, the bosses are incredibly easy :shakehead even for me!

I can't seem to a combo going which totally rapes their health. All I get is like 4-5 hit combo and they either stop it or it does sod all. That being said it is an enjoyable game. Is it me or are some light seeds only obtainable by killing yourself? There was one somewhere, where no where lead to it. No plates, as far as I know, went through it. In the end I just had to double jump into mid air and land on it...

Yes there's a few, it's not really killing yourself though; she saves you.

No I know but I felt as if it was a bit cheeky lol. Also it'd go towards that achievement. It's like get through the game only being saved so many times or what not.

Just got this today when I got my PS3. Haven't had a go on it yet. Waiting till later to have a go as I need to do some more tidying. The mass of cables behind the TV is pretty bad so need to sort that out before I can try this out. Would have just got it on the 360 but my brother, for some reason, really wanted a PS3 and this was available with the PS3 on a deal so we got it.

Finished it earlier today. Really disappointed. I don't see the point of the ending at all!

Why do all that just to do exactly what Elika's father did?! God damnit prince..

Because he loved her. That's an explanation in itself, really.

Prior to meeting Elika he didn't care about anything, but during their time together she grew to fill that void. To lose her is to... well, imagine emerging from a cave to see the sun for the first time. You bath in its warmth and beauty, its rays penetrating the thick skin you've spent so many years growing. And then someone says, "Right, that's it, you never get to see the sun again." Ignorance is bliss, and love selfish.

That and Ubisoft Montreal clearly liked Shadow of the Colossus a lot.

I actually did a test. I wanted a few blurays and did some research into where was cheapest, amazon, play and hmv were all pretty similar.

Anyways, I decided to order Horton Hears a Who from play, batman 1+2 from amazon and There Will Be Blood from hmv. Horton Hears a Who came first! So play now get all my custom :)

My point? I have no idea......

Anyways, not massively impressed with the game at all, the Prince IS annoying, and all it makes me want to do is crack out Sands of Time on the Gamecube

PS Does anyone know of any loyalty point places that sell DVD's/CDs similar to Tesco and Games system?

haha guys I was being sarcastic, I understood why he did...but why?! as in fustration.

I'm tempted to re-play it and make sure I get all the achievements..quite addictive!

Oh, sorry. I'm just used to dealing with people on forums that pay little to no attention to a game's story and then ask loads of really obvious questions about it.

I got the Platinum Trophy (all the Achievements, in cross-console speak) yesterday. My only word of warning would be to look up how to get the 'Combo Specialist' one as it caused me a lot of grief before I turned to a guide; you have to pull off every combo in the game, but there are a load of fairly arbitrary and unwritten rules that you have to follow.

For me this is a good 7/10 game that I thoroughly enjoyed both times I played through it. It could easily be a much better game — make the acrobatics a teensy bit less forgiving, add more spacial puzzles and verticality to the environments, not have to stand still whilst the Prince and Elika are talking — but I think it's aesthetically excellent and I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with the sequel. The Sands of Time is a better game, but... well, you can still go and play that instead if you're that bothered.

I see what you mean and for 90% of the time play are fantastic, for my computer it arrived basically the next day and I was thrilled because I needed it. But sometimes they just take the preverable at delivering and I never quite understand why. I probably won't touch amazon again, let's face it they take ages regardless and charge alot too!

It's ok, I normally try to get ahold of as much story as possible with these games, it makes playing it alot easier, which is why I loved the ''chat'' button between the prince and Elika so much.

I'd say for movement he needs to move abit faster when on vines, whilst doing the final boss the amount of fustration I had because the prince had to pick up Elika at the same time. I'd go as far to say that it wipes the dust of pop 2/3. Definately a nice enough game.

Yeah I've had some nightmares with play; well, maybe not an nightmare but I got a DVD/Game/CD a few days later than I wanted. I was very surprised there's turned up first; maybe because it's been over xmas.

Really doesn't sound like my kind of game, cartoony visuals (sorry, not my thing), dumbed down difficulty and bosses that can't kill you... I loved the Two Thrones but it looks like they've taken a detour with the franchise.

Is it kind of like Zelda in that it isn't episodic but instead there are just multiple ways of telling the tale?

I've been playing it a bit more. It's still a lot of fun, despite it's problems.

I'm already fed up of transforming a world of grey into green and beige. Like the Prince himself said in the game: there's no variety. The "City of Light" just seemed to be the same place as everywhere else I've visited so far.

While the camera never needs fiddling about when it's following Prince, it still is a pain in some of it's "forced" positions, but that's nothing new.

Anyway, so far it seems to be a great game for when you want to both relax and play a game.
