overzealous Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 i heard about a replacement program for the wrist straps but cant find any info... is it just an american thing or will they replace european ones two? i have two of the thinner strapped ones.
flameboy Posted December 25, 2006 Posted December 25, 2006 wow, i was shocked when i randomly saw a Wii RGB Cable in HMV yesterday, so i grabbed it yeah if you want a rgb scart go to hmv we got loads in.
Shorty Posted December 26, 2006 Posted December 26, 2006 ok so if i have a hd ready tv but no component inputs i can't get the best picture quality right? And how big a difference is it between rgb and component? Shouldn't any HD ready TV have component input? The difference is good, though the difference between RGB and composite is bigger. Btw, has anyone got their Wii going on their monitor yet? I really want to use it on my 16:9 monitor instead of my TV My Mum managed to find me an RGB cable in GAME in time for Christmas with no problems whatsoever, I don't see why people are having problems :/

(i have an HDTV). Which one should I get for optimum picture quality?
pedrocasilva Posted December 26, 2006 Posted December 26, 2006 So is RGB better than component? (i have an HDTV). Which one should I get for optimum picture quality?Component, without a doubt.
mariosmentor Posted December 26, 2006 Posted December 26, 2006 Shouldn't any HD ready TV have component input? The difference is good, though the difference between RGB and composite is bigger. Thats what I thought but an extensive search on its inputs has gave me no results. I think I'm in the same boat as someone earlier who has a tv which claims its progressive scan but its only semi progressive. Like digital correction or something. And like them, its also a phillips. If you buy a phillips HDTV make sure they let you check it out. Bought it online and now I wished I'd checked it out. Tv works great but no component is a bit of a bummer. There's a picture of it on the wii porn thread.
James Posted December 26, 2006 Posted December 26, 2006 anybody got these mad catz component cables, are they any good?
Demuwan Posted December 26, 2006 Posted December 26, 2006 I got a an ERROR code 200004 when trying to download the internet channel. Any one know what that is? EDIT: Works now, posting this from my Wii
Nintenchris Posted December 26, 2006 Posted December 26, 2006 anybody got these mad catz component cables, are they any good? I have! and yeah very good.. but i cant compare them to the offical ones as Nintendo dont want us to have them... well not this decade anyway!
DanielTimothy Posted December 26, 2006 Posted December 26, 2006 Do I need a GC memory card to save GC games on my Wii, or can I use the unbuilt memory?
fanman Posted December 26, 2006 Posted December 26, 2006 Do I need a GC memory card to save GC games on my Wii, or can I use the unbuilt memory? I'm pretty sure you need a memory card.
DanielTimothy Posted December 26, 2006 Posted December 26, 2006 I'm pretty sure you need a memory card. Bollocks. Thanks though fanman.
triforcemario Posted December 26, 2006 Posted December 26, 2006 I thought I'd inform everyone here who is suffering from the "No motion sensor, but pointer still works" problem, that there is now an official solution. A member at Neogaf who suffered from that very problem, he rang Nintendo, and they told him to do the following: They told us to hold the remote face down in one hand and spank it sharply with the other. "We've only tried this once," they said, "but give it a shot." Sounds rather.... Kinky, but it works.
KingOfHyrule Posted December 27, 2006 Author Posted December 27, 2006 Time to eat my hat, I think the GAMEware component cable that I have is fantastic, there is no difference at all between it and the official cable I had for the GameCube; tried Metroid Prime 2: Echoes on the Wii last night and it looked every bit as good as it did with the official cable on GameCube. And of course, Wii games look great on my TV now in 480p! Thanks GAME - I'd recommend their cable completely.
Shorty Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 So is RGB better than component? (i have an HDTV). Which one should I get for optimum picture quality? No no I didn't say that. Get component if you can, it's the best one.
Blue_Ninja0 Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 The local GAME stores don't have the official nintendo component cables. I think i'm going to import them from UK. Do you know if GAME.co.uk have these suckers up in stock? Or should i import from gameplay or any other shop?

If it's quite a bit cheaper I may get that, I hope your word is true.
KingOfHyrule Posted December 28, 2006 Author Posted December 28, 2006 how much cheaper is it? If it's quite a bit cheaper I may get that, I hope your word is true. It was £19.99 in my local GAME. Honestly I doubt there is any difference whatsoever in both cables, the GAME cable has given me clean crisp 480p and there's no muddiness. The only gripe I have is that the audio leads aren't long enough to reach my surround sound amp, which means either having to opt for the official cable anyway or buying extensions and probably suffer sound quality loss. Grr. But yes, I'll eat my hat and my gloves if you aren't pleased with the GAMEware cable Stefkov!
BlueStar Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 Since taking my Wii off the shelf on the TV stand and moving it to the floor, my horrible disc grinding noises and recurring disc read errors seem to have gone - I think the shelf might not have been level and that was nudging the disc out of wack. It seems to be quite sensitive to being at an angle, and heaven forbid if you move it even slightly when playing a game "Insert Disc, where's the disc gone, why is the disc not there turn the console off, disc has vanished, help!"
badboyace84 Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 just wondered what you all thought about this tele as im quite liking the look of it and its reletivly cheap and has got 10 out of 10 from all that have bought it http://www.pixmania.co.uk/uk/uk/451214/art/hannsg/jt261-hd-ready-26-66-cm.html?itag=5474#avisconso also an updated version out now around the same price with an hdmi socket
Colin Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 I've got hold of an RGB cable finally. Yet to try it out, but the composite really wasn't as bad as I was expecting. Done 14hrs of Zelda now, so it's kind of arrived at the right time.
R4MpAnT Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 Are all four lights on the bottom of the remotes supposed to flash when u sync the controller with the console. Only three lights from the left to right flash, with the last not flashing at all. On my other contoller they all four flash. Is this a hardware problem or am i mistaken. Small issues, but i cant stand having defective products. On another note, i can't work out which contoller i got with my system and which one i got witch Wii play. One has a thin strap the other a thicker one. Did the thin strap come with the console or Wii play? I would of thought it would have come with the console, but i have heard otherwise. Note i go them both on the European launch date. Final question, with the replacement of the strap, did nintendo also modify the battery covers slightly? I have noticed a slight difference. Thanks, Tobi
JerecDrak Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 I think the number of lights that flash when you sync a controller with the Wii represents the amount of power left in the controller.
