flameboy Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 Well I've not played anything on PS3 for a while, can't be arsed with Heavenly Sword and Ratchet right now so thought I'd see if I could pick up something for cheap. Nothing to play?! I've got a glut with The Darkness, MGS4 and GTA 4 to still complete plus MGS1....still wanna ger resistance before the second one comes out.
Calza Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 Can somebody give me a list of all the good PS2 RPG's? I just realised I've only completed FFX & X-2 and that leaves me feeling like I've missed out on a whole lot of games.
KKOB Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 Well I've not played anything on PS3 for a while, can't be arsed with Heavenly Sword and Ratchet right now so thought I'd see if I could pick up something for cheap. You can also pick up The Darkness and Uncharted for cheaps if you don't have them. If you didn't fancy being retro :P
That Guy Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 Nothing to play?! I've got a glut with The Darkness, MGS4 and GTA 4 to still complete plus MGS1....still wanna ger resistance before the second one comes out. I don't like Metal Gear, and own GTA on Xbox 360 so nothing there. You can also pick up The Darkness and Uncharted for cheaps if you don't have them. If you didn't fancy being retro :P I've finished Uncharted and loooooove the darkness but I've already finished that on Xbox 360. If games are available on both systems I've been picking up the 360 version due to the better controller, better online (that friends play on as well), and (not that I'd make it a deciding factor) achievements. I currently own Motorstorm, Ratchet and Clank, Unreal 3, Heavenly Sword, and Uncharted, and once it arrives Resistance. Heavenly Sword I find repetitive so play through a chapter once every so often, and Ratchet I need to get past an annoying level which I will do soon enough. I bought a PS3 as a Blu Ray player so I wasn't expecting to buy a ton of games for it anyway.

That Guy Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 well annoyed about my DS3...got message saying; So knowing my luck I won't get it until 25th June GRRRR I want it now! Thats quite poor. My copy of Resistance is getting dispatched first class on Monday morning.
flameboy Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 http://www.gametrailers.com/player/35193.html This Resistance 2 movie looks awesome...I will have to pick up the first one before this comes out....how long does it take to rush through the story mode?

Can't wait for Resistance 2! Looks the win! And I'll say around 15 - 20 hours to complete the story on the first one. Been awhile since I have completed it though.
KKOB Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Resistance for that cheap? That's a great price, it's a pretty good launch game and great multi. I don't really like Resistance, much prefer other shooters like CoD, even CoD 3 i find more fun than Resistance. I think it's the, in my opinion, crappy character models and cheap ways it kills you, minor frustrations but no where near as annoying as Heavenly For-Fuck-Sake-Sixaxis-Control-Sucks-You-Stupid-Developer Sword.
Hero-of-Time Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Heavenly For-Fuck-Sake-Sixaxis-Control-Sucks-You-Stupid-Developer Sword. Just do what I did and knock the sixaxis control methods off and use the analogue stick, makes things a hell of alot easier
KKOB Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Just do what I did and knock the sixaxis control methods off and use the analogue stick, makes things a hell of alot easier How bloody dumb am i?! I didn't realise there was an option to turn it off! haha Still, the game sucks when it comes to the Bjork-wannabe's bits . . . sadly.
tapedeck Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Just do what I did and knock the sixaxis control methods off and use the analogue stick, makes things a hell of alot easier I did that on Ratchet and Clank and it somehow wasn't as fun. Pobably the developers fault for being shite.
S.C.G Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Looking to buy a Bluetooth headset for PS3, anyone know which one is the best?
Guest Stefkov Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 I did that on Ratchet and Clank and it somehow wasn't as fun. Pobably the developers fault for being shite. The motion controls were hardly used in R&C from what I remember. Gliding down from the sky is all I remember doing and the controls were fine for that.
LegoMan1031 Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 The motion controls were hardly used in R&C from what I remember. Gliding down from the sky is all I remember doing and the controls were fine for that. Gliding in the air, shooting the laser on a wall and erm when doing the pirate dance? Oh and when u were hacking and had to roll that ball around (although for the last one i think i turned off the motion coz i found it 2 hard on the later ones, lol).
flameboy Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 Well then 2moro is now the fabled rumoured date for firmware update? anyone honestly see it coming?
Guest Jordan Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 Well theres a 4.00 PSP firmware update coming out tomorrow. Apparently it adds "search google" on the XMB and thats it. I'll be waiting for an M33 version mind...
Dante Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 Shuhei Yoshida Interview Q: Explain the reasoning behind the cancellation of Eight Days and The Getaway. Shuhei Yoshida: As you might know, starting and cancelling projects is just a normal part of our business. What's unusual about this case is that we usually don't announce titles until we have a really good feel, until they're getting ready and we have an idea of launch day. The situation was that because we started talking about the PS3 in 2005-6, the idea concepts that became the Eight Days and The Getaway projects had something very representative of things that we think will define this generation of game development - the particles, the fantastic explosions, and so on. So company management decided to show it as an example, as a demo, not necessarily meaning that they were titles to come. It could have been a little bit confusing because there were lots of announcements of actual titles, but because of timing we made the unusual decision to announce those two at a very early stage of development.
MATtheHAT Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 Looking to buy a Bluetooth headset for PS3, anyone know which one is the best? Probably not the best but I find it OK. The one that comes with Warhawk. (Which is a fantastic game in its own right) http://www.play.com/Games/PlayStation3/4-/1021984/Warhawk/Product.html

ReZourceman Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 HELP Okay, so Ive put two videos (AVIs) that I want to watch on my My Videos folder, located inside My Documents on my PC. flameboy Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 So apparently the PS3 firmware 2.36 update is out and it doesn't add any features just improves system stability...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz I want 2.40 now...
Guest Jordan Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Atleast it was confirmed on the US playstation blog that 2.4 is bringing in game XMB and trophies.
flameboy Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Atleast it was confirmed on the US playstation blog that 2.4 is bringing in game XMB and trophies. yeah I read that on IGN; US, June 17, 2008 - Looks like the rumors of in-game XMB support and game trophies were true. In a recent Playstation.Blog post, Eric Lempel, director of PlayStation Network Operations, explained that a new firmware update, v2.36, will be coming soon. This impending release will improve system stability with specific PlayStation titles. However, the big news of his blog post was that the upcoming firmware 2.40 will indeed feature "'XMB access' in-game" as well as trophies and other enhancements. While no release date or other details were mentioned, Lempel stated that official information within this update would be coming shortly. Rumours flying around that we will now be seeing it mid-july.
Owen Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 I just had a thought...i hope Sony announce a new Jak and Daxter at E3...but along the lines of the magical first one..and none of this GTA type stuff...I want really cartoony colourful graphics and bright worlds..like the good-old platformers!
