I'm hoping they release a special edition of Back to the Future where they get past the beta stage of development.

what do you mean? All the episodes are nearly out aren't they?!

They're all out, yes. But they're clearly not finished properly. Lots of bugs, glitches, people appearing in the wrong places, spelling mistakes, etc.

Can you buy PSN games through a PC?

I remember there were a couple of things on offer I wanted to buy.

But they end on Aug 1st.

Annoyingly I have nothing to connect my PS3 to at the moment...

I also can't remember what it was I wanted to buy.

I don't think you can. Just for PSP games!

Today I learned that the PlayStation 3 being region free doesn't extend to SDTVs (though this could be limited to only certain games). Color me unimpressed. :blank:

What was supposed to be a marathon Catherine session has turned into playing the game for a little while before my mom comes home and then playing it a bit more after she goes to bed.

No, it does output in 60hz - that's why I'm so annoyed. I haven't been able to find much information on it, but it seems certain imported games are locked and refuse to output properly on SDTVs, and will only run in black and white (like Catherine did) or simply won't run at all. They all run perfectly on HDTVs, however. I had no idea this was a thing until today.

Admittedly people playing PS3 games on an SDTV are in the minority, but I'm getting so tired of jumping through hoops just to play video games. :(

In that case I believe your issue lies with using the packed in composite cable. If your TV has the inputs you'd avoid the greyscale issue and generally clean up picture quality by hooking up your PS3 via component, but failing that a proper RGB cable will do much the same job.

The PS3 makes use of the same connectors as past PlayStations, so if you have any cables lying around from the PS2 days they should work just fine. Failing that you're looking at paying about £5-10 for a new one.

Oh yeah, I did read about how using component cables would fix the issue the same way playing on an HDTV would, but my TV doesn't have the inputs for that, plus it would have meant waiting another couple of days to play the game anyway.

I do have an old PS2 RGB cable lying around, though, but I didn't think to try it because I assumed that it wouldn't work with the PS3 (too used to owning Nintendo consoles, I guess). Finally my brief flirt with graphics whoring is paying off!

Got myself some PS+, almost solely for the R3 beta in under 8 days tyme.

Golden Axe & Legacy of Kain: SR any good? Have downloaded anyway.

Posted

Golden Axe has probably aged the worst out of all the classic Mega Drive games.

Edit: BTW, the next set of games is due any day now so just get everything ASAP.

Golden Axe - wank

Comet Crash - wank

Legacy of Kain - slightly less wank, but still wank because the controls are wank and I can't be fucked

Comix Zone - kinda cool, might stick with it.

Rayman - Awesome. Any excuse to play it again and I will.
