Columnar Posted June 1, 2008 Posted June 1, 2008 I've been looking at Battle Fantasia for a while now. I'm sure I read somewhere that its being released in the US towards the end of the year but I'm considering just importing the Jap version. Does anyone know if you can still play people online if you're using an import version of a PS3 game or do you need to have a Japanese PSN account?
Pit-Jr Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 I'd buy one if they sold them. Damn, now I really want one. I want that!
Daft Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 Does anyone have a Playstation Eye? Are there any good games for it? I was thinking of getting one especially as LBP is going to use it.
Guest Jordan Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 Theres a few free games on the PSN... or *snigger* eye of judgement.

Esequiel Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 EoJ is actually a really good game if you have the time and room to play it. I have neither so had to get rid of it
dazzybee Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 How do you set up a US account on PSN with a UK PS3? I have just bought Rock Band from US and want to download sometracks.
ShavenWolf Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 Does anyone have a Playstation Eye? Are there any good games for it? I was thinking of getting one especially as LBP is going to use it. Trials of Topoq is pretty fun. The rest of the games on the PSN store are more like toys though to be honest. It's implemented quite well in Burnout though: Get taken down online and it takes a snapshot of you giving the V's to the player that took you down.
Daft Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 LBP uses the playstation eye?!! how?! Take photos of stuff, like textures or your face even, and allowing you to edit them into levels. Just ordered one. Should be fun to mess around with. Should be good with MGO as well, I don't like using headsets.
triforce_keeper Posted June 3, 2008 Posted June 3, 2008 Decided to get a PS3 sometime in the Autumn, I'm not up to date with the whole "60gig/40gig" PS3 versions. So could someone explain the differences and availability? Thanks

So could someone explain the differences and availability? Thanks If you want a 60GB I imagine you will have to go second-hand.. As for other differences, the only thing that springs to mind is that the 40GB model is not backwards compatible..

flameboy Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 If you want a 60GB I imagine you will have to go second-hand.. As for other differences, the only thing that springs to mind is that the 40GB model is not backwards compatible.. Isn't PS2 backwards compatible...PS1 is though... It also has less media slots etc...only sports 2 usb ports now... But yeah 60gb are hard to come by I tried when I got mine but to no avail. EDIT (owing to doublepost!) Saw this news can only be good; As german site inplaystation.de reports, downward compatibility for the 40GB PS3 will be available this october via firmware upgrade. They talked to a Sony importer from germany who told them, Sony is going to release a new firmware which allows a fully software emulation of PS2 games. Since Sony announced that they're going to offer downloadable PS2 games in PSN, this rumor sounds believable. http://www.n4g.com/ps3/News-152943.aspx I've always said that as soon as PS2 stopped being a viable platform we may well see the introduction of PS2 on PSN and emulation... With PS2 new releases now dropping off and the sales of the consoles finally slowing down this can only be a good thing. To be honest in some ways removing the PS3 emulation was a good move it helped the console be cheaper (more in US where it was chip based rather than software based) and would encourage people to buy more PS3 games and therefore drive software sales. Means I could catch up on the likes of God of War and MGS.
Columnar Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Has anyone here replaced their PS3 HDD? I'm looking at upgrading my 40GB to 120GB but I have no idea about Hard Drives in general. Is it easy to do for a complete novice like me? Any help/advice would be great.
Hero-of-Time Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 I was wondering this too...anyone?? How do you set up a US account on PSN with a UK PS3? I have just bought Rock Band from US and want to download sometracks. Its quite easy. Just create a new master account and select USA as your region. Next just enter a US address, I think I used California and zip 90201...seriously. Anyway you could just google an address and use that. After that just keep hitting next etc and all of the US goods are now yours To buy anything off the US store you need an american credit card but with the points cards just around the corner this problem will be resolved. I will finally be able to buy Wild Arms!

I upgraded mine with a 320Gb HD, the only annoying thing are the screws which are as soft as butter. This should help as well: http://uk.gamespot.com/features/6176090/index.html?sid=6176090
Dante Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Sony cancels Eight Days and The Getaway Sony Computer Entertainment has announced that it has cancelled production on two PlayStation 3 titles that were in development at the Sony London Studio - Eight Days and The Getaway. A statement from the Corporation read as follows: "It has been agreed that production of both Eight Days and The Getaway will cease immediately due to the redistribution of resources and budget. "This decision was made following an internal review of all games and it was deemed that with the incredibly strong list of exclusive first party titles coming up both this year and in the near future, resource should be reallocated to enhance those projects closer to completion. "Worldwide Studios has a reputation for innovative and entertaining games, with titles such as LittleBigPlanet, SingStar,Buzz, EyeToy and Eye of Judgement, and will continue to push the boundaries on all PlayStation platforms."
S.C.G Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 *shrugs* no big loss, it's not as if they were serious AAA titles.
Columnar Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Thanks a lot Daft! It seems quite easy to do and my brother is quite good with computers so hopefully should be upgraded next week. Cheers: peace:

WAAAA!!! Didn't see that one coming. I was looking forward the The Getaway, and Eight Days sounded promising. Thanks a lot Daft! It seems quite easy to do and my brother is quite good with computers so hopefully should be upgraded next week. Cheers: peace: No probs, just be careful with the screw. Its annoyingly easy to strip them. To buy anything off the US store you need an american credit card but with the points cards just around the corner this problem will be resolved. I will finally be able to buy Wild Arms! You can also transfer funds to an online account thingy and transfer it again from there, kind of like PayPal. I'm not sure what it is called exactly.
flameboy Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 Don't even know what eight days is and the getaway has never seemed that good to me.
