Domstercool Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 I think that's mainly for stuff that is heavy on the PSN. I know RR7 doesn't do that as I have a US version and the UK stuffed worked on it.

m_fergy Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 Ah so it's still probably best to get the US ltd ed of MGS4 anyway? NO! Because if you get it from US it will get shipped to you on release date. If you get it from UK you will get it on the release date or sometimes a day before But if you want the US limited edition badly then im sure you can wait a few days for it while everyone else plays MGS4

Owen Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 GOW PSP is by far the greatest PSP game to date! I've been playing it bit by bit over the weekend and it's sensational! A huge achievement and shows what the PSP is capable off! It's exactly like the PS2 games and the sense of scale is amazing! Thought i let you all know!
nightwolf Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 What kind of fucking gimp buys a Plasma for gaming? Lots of gimps actually. Nothing wrong with buying a plasma tv, espcially if you don't watch tv very much and would rather game instead.
S.C.G Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 Lots of gimps actually. Nothing wrong with buying a plasma tv, espcially if you don't watch tv very much and would rather game instead. They seem fine for gaming, I very seldom bother with watching TV and mostly game but even so I would stick with an LCD because my experiences with them have been really good. Each to their own though. *back on topic* Can't wait to see what games look like on my USA PS3 in hopefully a few hours when the voltage regulator arrives (yes I got one following the advice of a fully qualified electrician, I know 90% of people say you don't need one but I've been told theres no harm in using it and may even make the unit last longer *shrugs*) either way I can't wait to play it later. Gonna trade in Motorstorm probably later plus a 360 peripheral to get a copy of Uncharted hopefully.
ReZourceman Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 Wait so Plasma is considered better for TV and LCD for gaming? Anyway, I posted this in tech but no help yet, maybe you guize will know. Is there a way/what software do I need to record game footage directly from my PSP? Efforts with a digital camera lastnight were fruitless.
Guest Jordan Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 Afaik, LCD's are better. As long as they've got a good responce time...
ReZourceman Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 Response time for what? Changing channel etc?
Guest Jordan Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 No, the time it takes for the TV to 'redraw' the image onto the screen. Mines 2ms, which is probably the lowest you're gunna get at the moment.

That would be your video game power, you'd talk about technical stuff to baffle/stun your opponents! 0_o
Guest Jordan Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 Its fairly simple really, all it means is: Your pixels can change colour, obviously. The responce time, is the time it takes a pixel to go from a colour, to black (or white) to colour. The faster, the better as it stops ghosting.
ReZourceman Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 as it stops ghosting. Ahhhh! errorrrr errrorrrr. Lol. Now help me with the above query re PSP, Tech-Man.
Guest Jordan Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 Er... I dunno about that. Hense why i didn't say anything.
ReZourceman Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 Er... I dunno about that. Hense why i didn't say anything. Sure you do.
S.C.G Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 Ahhhh! errorrrr errrorrrr. Lol. Now help me with the above query re PSP, Tech-Man. Hmm Idk if this helps but it might... http://uk.gamespot.com/features/6148616/p-2.html if it doesn't the only other way I could think of, off the top of my head, would be if you had a new PSP (the one that lets you connect via component or something?) and connect that to a TV capture card, then capture the footage via some generic capture software? If any of that makes sense I'll be amazed but it's the best i can think of off the top of my head.
Will Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 Wait so Plasma is considered better for TV and LCD for gaming? Plasma is certainly better for TV, much nicer picture, more natural warmer and closer to CRT in terms of quality. Gaming its a bit of a grey area to be honest, source is usually better so the crapness of LCD won't show through as much. Also I think a lot is down to as there's a much lower risk of burn in its considered a much safer option than using a plasma what with HUD's, title screena and static images showing up all over the show. Although its closer with games I'd still say Plasma will give a better picture, you just have to take a bit more care with it.

Caris Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 Lots of gimps actually. Nothing wrong with buying a plasma tv, espcially if you don't watch tv very much and would rather game instead. No, LCD's are much better for gaming as Plasmas are terrible for burn in.
Guest Jordan Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 I wouldn't say "terrible" but i find that LCD's do have much better colour depth and sharpness.
S.C.G Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 Voltage regulator for my USA PS3 came today, works great just watched a trailer on the blu ray that came with it, looks nice, booted up Motorstorm, wasn't impressed, gonna trade it in against Uncharted today. Just booted up Ninja Gaiden Sigma, I already have Ninja Gaiden Black (essentially the same game but with less) anyways, that I like very much. ^^ Overall looks and sounds pretty nice though I'll be looking forward to hooking it up with a HDMI 1.3a lead which should arrive tomorrow (using optical and hdmi cable from 360 atm) but so far I quite like the machine overall.
Columnar Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 I'm selling a copy of Assassin's Creed on the bargains board if anyone is interested. As a side note is Ninja Gaiden Sigma really as hard as people say? I never bought it on Xbox because the supposed extreme difficulty level put me off a bit but I've seen NGS for £24.97 @ Tesco and I'm really tempted to get it but not if its too hard cause I know I'll end up getting frustrated with it. Cheers in advance.

Domstercool Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 I'm having fun playing the first ever Ratchet and Clank. Was only 9.99 and since I've not played any of them but the PS3 one, thought I'd get it. Probably gonna go play through them all now!
