flameboy Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 Cunt. Just got YLOD'd. I shouldn't be surprised because the fan telegraphed the coming of this glistening evil a few months ago. Sorry to hear that...royally sucks, many of us have been there we are here for you.
dwarf Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 Does the Slim have a good track record on keeping in shape? Not that I can get one any time soon.
Daft Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 Hasn't broken on me yet. I'll update you when I switch it on tonight to see if it survived that massive jinx.
dwarf Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 Ah thanks for doing that for me. My tip would be to avoid playing Dead Nation for 2 hours, because it seems to give the system ideas.
flameboy Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 Does the Slim have a good track record on keeping in shape? Not that I can get one any time soon. I think the problem that arises in the regular PS3 does not exist in the slim due to change of components. I'm gonna duck out of this conversation as last time despite plenty of proof otherwise Choze lambasted me for daring to say there is any problem with Sony hardware and that hardware issues can cause software problems.... bow bow chica chica ooooooucch :awesome:
Tales Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 I've had mine for almost two years with no problems. Lots of use.
Daft Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 Ah thanks for doing that for me. My tip would be to avoid playing Dead Nation for 2 hours, because it seems to give the system ideas. My Slim has survived a couple of mammoth Dead Nation marathons. DLC, included. I remember when Space Giraffe killed my 360. And most of the cones in my retina.
Rowan Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 I have a launch slim and it's still working thankfully. Console is hardly on for more than 2-3 hours at a time and I've rarely ever moved the console (maybe only twice) so I'm hoping/expecting it continues to work.
Sheikah Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 Had a launch from release and use it exhaustively. We even use it to watch TV on top of the countless hours I've played games on it. Here's hoping it keeps going.
Hero-of-Time Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 Sly is pretty good. I laughed when I got a trophy for simply starting up the game. 27% so far. What's the likelyhood of getting Sly 2 next month? The trilogy is on sale on PSN this week for £9.99.
Tales Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 Not bad even if it's kinda only for the last two. Are they the same quality as the first or did they do like Jak and Daxter's drastic change? I said I'd platinum all three but the driving race in the city in number 2 made me crazy so I stopped playing.
Magnus Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 Sly 2 has large hub areas where most of the levels take place. Like a platformer Grand Theft Auto. For the most part, the individual levels are about doing things that will help you with your big heist in that area. You also get to play as two other characters. The third game is pretty much the same thing, but with a lot more gimmicky levels and several new characters that you only use in a level or two (they also removed the collectables in the hub levels for some reason). It's not as good as the second game, but it's still good. So less Crash Bandicoot, but still familiar. Certainly a lot better than the later Jak games.
Hero-of-Time Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 First three games. 60fps. 3D. Trophies. Includes R&C3's multiplayer for up to 8 players. Hell yeah!!!
Magnus Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 The best part is how it doesn't include Deadlocked/Gladiator. Even Sony and Insomniac don't want anything to do with that game.
Cube Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 Because they sold the license. Hence why there also isn't a Crash Bandicoot remake. Edit: Wrong way round. They don't own the original games.
Tales Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 Sony, Activision? Regardless of who owns the rights, start working on it.
Cube Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Plus subscribers will get 50% off Assassin's Creed Revelations when it's released on the PSN on Friday. With the 50% discount, it will be around £30. The game is £17.99 on Amazon and Play.
flameboy Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 @Tales you weren't wrong Sly is a really good game what a delight!
EEVILMURRAY Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 FUUUUUUUUCK! Why is the internet no help?! I'm trying to connect my PS3 to the net and I keep getting a bullshit DNS error. I've done some Google'ing and every solution revolves around changing the DNS primary/secondary thingies, but every time it's the same result. It gets successful in getting an IP address* but can't connect after that. *Won't when I try it wirelessly.

Cookyman Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 You do know that we may get none of that, right? That's the American one. I know - but we usually get the same. There is nothing up on the Playstation Europe Blog yet. Obviously if I'm wrong I'll change it!
